A Virginia woman was mauled to death by her pair of pit bulls while taking them out for a walk in the woods. Bethany Lynn Stephens, 22, was found dead in a 'grisly' scene on Thursday night, two days after she was last seen heading out to walk her dogs in the woods near her Goochland, Virginia home. Authorities said she was found by her father, who was searching for her in an area where she was known to take the dogs out for walks. The dogs — described as being 'very large, brindle-colored pit bull dogs' — were said to be aggressively guarding her body when Stephens' father came across them, according to Goochland County Sheriff James L. Agnew, the Richmond-Times Dispatch reported.

Over 300 passengers aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise contracted stomach-related illnesses at sea this past week, it was reported on Saturday. A cruise ship carrying 5,547 guests departed Port Everglades, Florida on Monday. The Independence of the Seas (above) set sail for a five-night journey that was bound for Labadee and Jamaica. A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean told NBC News that 332 guests on board fell ill with gastrointestinal sickness likely caused by Norovirus. Dellen Millard, of Toronto, Canada, killed 23-year-old Laura Babcock in 2012 after his girlfriend became increasingly jealous over their relationship, prosecutors said. Babcock's body was never found but the court heard that Millard, and accomplice Mark Smich, destroyed her remains in an incinerator. Police later discovered that a note on Smich's iPad which read: 'The b***h started off all skin and bone, Now the b***h lay on some ash stone,Last time I saw her was outside the home,And if u go swimming u can find her phone.'

The family of a Canadian billionaire couple found dead in their home on Friday are angry over police and press reports pointing to a possible murder-suicide. Investigators are awaiting the results of autopsies performed on Barry Sherman and his wife (left) after they were found dead in their home in what police called suspicious deaths. Toronto Police said Saturday the deaths are suspicious based on what they know, but offered no other details. The 75-year-old pharmaceutical magnate and his wife, Honey, 70, were found dead in their north Toronto mansion on Friday. Detectives wheel out the body of one of the victims on the right.

An Illinois man commandeered a casual afternoon of family game time in his effort to surprise his girlfriend with a marriage proposal. At least ten people were in the kitchen one evening, standing around a table during a card guessing game when the proposal took place. In the video, each of the players is instructed to hold a playing card up to their forehead by a man off camera. They each hold a card to their forehead to reveal a number or face card — except for one young blonde woman who has been given a special card, which is clearly visible when the videographer zooms in on her face. 'What the f*** does she have?' one person says, laughing, as others quickly join in once they read her card.

A Louisiana man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly maiming his friend's dog with hot water and then placing it inside her freezer. Monroe police said that Samuel Smith was charged with one count of animal cruelty after the dog's owner called to report the alleged crime. Local authorities say that Smith, 24, inflicted severe injuries to the face and head of 'Bitty Boo', a two-year-old Yorkshire terrier, whose eyes were discovered swollen shut.

Amy Smart is speaking up on her husband's behalf. The 41-year-old California native on Saturday posted a detailed message to her Instagram page defending her spouse, HGTV's Carter Oosterhouse, after a makeup artist named Kailey Kaminsky (inset) told The Hollywood Reporter that Oosterhouse had coerced her into performing oral sex on him when they worked together nine years ago. Smart posted the message - which reinforced her husband's claim that the relationship was a consensual one - along with a shot of herself posed with Oosterhouse and their 11-month-old daughter, Flora (right).

Celebrity chef Mario Batali has issued an apology to his newsletter subscribers for his sexual misconduct against women, but he confounded readers by ending his message with a recipe for a 'holiday-inspired breakfast'. Batali, 57, was immediately blasted on social media for including in the Friday email the 'Pizza Dough Cinnamon Rolls' recipe, a 'fan favorite,' after his apology for making 'many mistakes'. Several women have made allegations that he touched them inappropriately. Batali admitted his behavior and first apologized in a statement Monday.

Twitter trolls came for Ivanka Trump Friday after the First Daughter simply sent her well wishes to soon-to-be-married Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. For this never-before-seen picture shows elusive street artist Banksy at work on one of his most famous pieces – a giant white rat daubed on to Liverpool's derelict White Horse pub. It is the first photograph to identify Banksy at work, and it categorically confirms that he is indeed former Bristol public schoolboy Robin Gunningham, first unmasked by The Mail on Sunday in 2008.

Chris Bellew, 21, was pulled over on suspicion of 'multiple traffic violations' on November 9 in Pasadena, California, and was injured in a subsequent fight with cops. The case received little notice until a bystander cellphone video of the incident emerged on December 4. The Pasadena chapter of the NAACP responded with outrage, calling the incident 'inhuman' and 'reprehensible'. The City of Pasadena responded by releasing six police bodycam and dashcam videos of the incident on Friday.

Pierre and Paul Wertheimer became Chanel's partners in 1924 after backing the full financial and production costs of the revolutionary No 5 scent. After the deal was struck she received only 10 per cent of profits, 70 per cent went to the Wertheimers , while 20 per cent was transferred to Paris department store Galeries Lafayette. But never satisfied with how ownership and profits were divided, she became involved with an aristocratic Abwehr spymaster called Hans Günther von Dincklage - who was 13 years younger than her.

'The legacy of 'Jingle Bells' is one where its blackface and racist origins have been subtly and systematically removed from its history,' wrote Kyna Hamill (inset), a Boston University theater historian. The claim has shocked fans of one of the world's most famous Christmas carols, long considered innocuous and inoffensive. In the course of her research, Hamill discovered a playbill indicating that Jingle Bells was first performed under the title One Horse Open Sleigh in blackface, for a minstrel show at Ordway Hall on Boston's Washington Street in 1857.

Just days after it was reported that Omarosa Manigault (inset) had to be physically removed from the White House, a 10-minute YouTube clip from 2006 shows her in a weird sci-fi mini-film. The film, titled Soul Sistahs, casts Omarosa (above) as a James Bond-like action hero who is abducted and sent on a mission by a bizarre old lady in a spaceship. Her job is to cut off pieces of Donald Trump's hair so that the old lady could get rich quick and avoid having to return to Earth to get a regular job.

Cargo ships with 10,000sq ft sails could be introduced to battle rising fuel bills. It has been suggested that when the wind is strong enough it could cut the amount of diesel a vessel burns by 20 per cent. One system is already in use, created by German company SkySails. Its sail can unfurl to 90ft wide.

A couple in Madya Pradesh, India, had their happy day ruined when a tiger gatecrashed their wedding. Guests were seen screaming and running for cover after it came out of the bushes. The big cat later roamed 600km away and attacked a woman as she went to the toilet at 5am. A team tracking the beast have said it is not afraid of humans and attracted to light. It does not hesitate to go through human settlements which is 'unusual' behaviour for a tiger.
