In early July, I went to Finland. I not only wanted to discover its amazing natural landscapes but also its urban life. That's when I met Tapsa, a Finnish sailor, who described me his idea of Finland.

We were commissioned by the French Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism in Lebanon, to produce a short film showing and promoting Lebanon's rural tourism, the hospitality and warmth of the people but also the beautiful Guest Houses of Lebanon.

(( Wildlife )) - Costa Rica is world famous for having an incredibly high level of biodiversity throughout its tropical forests (this covers what you may hear referred to as rain forests, cloud forests, and dry forests). There are tropical mammals such as monkeys, sloths, tapirs, and wild cats as well as an amazing assortment of insects and other animals. There are many many birds (both migratory and resident) - more on that below. With 25% of the country being national parks and protected areas, there are still many places you can go to see the abundant wildlife and lush vegetation of the country. Just like anywhere, the farther you get off the beaten path, the more likely you are to see a wide variety of flora and fauna.
(( Bird Watching )) - One of the most wonderful activities for people who love nature is bird watching. You can enjoy bird watching in many areas of Costa Rica. Due to the great diversity of climates, temperatures and forest types in Costa Rica, there is a wonderful variety of birds, with over 800 species. Some helpful books available on bird watching are Birds of Costa Rica by F. Gary Stiles and Alexander Skutch (Cornell University Press) or An Illustrated Field Guide to Birds of Costa Rica, illustrated by Victor Esquivel Soto. These books can be found at certain bookstores in San José or before coming to Costa Rica. They are both heavy books; many people tear out the plates of the Stiles & Skutch book to carry into the field and leave the rest of the book in their car or room. Plastic cards with the most common birds are available for many areas and are sold at gift shops.
(( Volcanoes )) -Costa Rica is one of the most seismologicly active countries in the western hemisphere, and as a result several volcanoes have sprouted over the years- most notably volcanoes Poas, Irazu, and Arenal.

The only direct flight from Europe to Nassau is operated by British Airways from London Heathrow. These run almost every day. You may find that it's cheaper to fly to the US and then into Nassau from JFK, Miami, Altlanta etc. Please note that if you plan to travel through the US or even stay there awhile, you may need an ESTA visa waiver.
Try both Skyscanner http://www.skyscanner.net and Kayak http://www.kayak.com websites (also great for accomodation) for best prices.
2) Accomodation
Easter is a busy time in Nassau - it's Spring Break! By the time of the wedding there will be no accommodation available. I'm afraid you won't be able to stay with us this time around, so we've outlined some options below. If you're looking at a rented house or apartment, why not team up? Fill the property and reduce the cost. You could even share a hire car.
Renting a House or Apartment
We may have friends in Nassau who will be on vacation at Easter and so would rent out their apartment or house. We'll make sure we advertise any such opportunities to you.

Your best bet for other rental accomodation. This will probably work out cheaper per person and you may score a property with your own pool or an incredible view. Paradise Island and Cable Beach locations would be best for you, but please contact one of us before you book so that we can advise you on location.
Hotels
If you're going for a hotel, think about which area would suit you best from those below. We recommend Paradise Island, Cable Beach and perhaps Downtown. On any hotel, you'll usually find a better rate using search engines such as Kayak.

To really see and experience Nassau, you'll want to hire a car. But if that's not for you, Paradise Island is your best bet. You can safely walk around and there are bars and shops as well as the beautiful Cabbage Beach and everything Atlantis has to offer. There's a regular ferry to visit downtown and various tourist buses.

This mega resort offers beaches, pools, restaurants, casinos, dolphins and water slides. They aren't cheap though and the rooms will not seem like good value. But at Atlantis, you're paying for everything else.

These are both situated on Paradise Island. They are usually cheaper than Atlantis, but staying at Comfort Suites still gives you access to the water park etc. at Atlantis.

There are many many birds (both migratory and resident) - more on that below. With 25% of the country being national parks and protected areas, there are still many places you can go to see the abundant wildlife and lush vegetation of the country. Just like anywhere, the farther you get off the beaten path, the more likely you are to see a wide variety of flora and fauna. (( Bird Watching )) - One of the most wonderful activities for people who love nature is bird watching. You can enjoy bird watching in many areas of Costa Rica. Due to the great diversity of climates, temperatures and forest types in Costa Rica, there is a wonderful variety of birds, with over 800 species. Some helpful books available on bird watching are Birds of Costa Rica by F. Gary Stiles and Alexander Skutch (Cornell University Press) or An Illustrated Field Guide to Birds of Costa Rica, illustrated by Victor Esquivel Soto. These books can be found at certain bookstores in San José or before coming to Costa Rica. They are both heavy books; many people tear out the plates of the Stiles & Skutch book to carry into the field and leave the rest of the book in their car or room. Plastic cards with the most common birds are available for many areas and are sold at gift shops. (( Volcanoes )) -Costa Rica is one of the most seismologicly active countries in the western hemisphere, and as a result several volcanoes have sprouted over the years- most notably volcanoes Poas, Irazu, and Arenal. -

(( Wildlife )) - Costa Rica is world famous for having an incredibly high level of biodiversity throughout its tropical forests (this covers what you may hear referred to as rain forests, cloud forests, and dry forests). There are tropical mammals such as monkeys, sloths, tapirs, and wild cats as well as an amazing assortment of insects and other animals. There are many many birds (both migratory and resident) - more on that below. With 25% of the country being national parks and protected areas, there are still many places you can go to see the abundant wildlife and lush vegetation of the country. Just like anywhere, the farther you get off the beaten path, the more likely you are to see a wide variety of flora and fauna.
(( Bird Watching )) - One of the most wonderful activities for people who love nature is bird watching. You can enjoy bird watching in many areas of Costa Rica. Due to the great diversity of climates, temperatures and forest types in Costa Rica, there is a wonderful variety of birds, with over 800 species. Some helpful books available on bird watching are Birds of Costa Rica by F. Gary Stiles and Alexander Skutch (Cornell University Press) or An Illustrated Field Guide to Birds of Costa Rica, illustrated by Victor Esquivel Soto. These books can be found at certain bookstores in San José or before coming to Costa Rica. They are both heavy books; many people tear out the plates of the Stiles & Skutch book to carry into the field and leave the rest of the book in their car or room. Plastic cards with the most common birds are available for many areas and are sold at gift shops.

The only direct flight from Europe to Nassau is operated by British Airways from London Heathrow. These run almost every day. You may find that it's cheaper to fly to the US and then into Nassau from JFK, Miami, Altlanta etc. Please note that if you plan to travel through the US or even stay there awhile, you may need an ESTA visa waiver.
Try both Skyscanner http://www.skyscanner.net and Kayak http://www.kayak.com websites (also great for accomodation) for best prices.

Easter is a busy time in Nassau - it's Spring Break! By the time of the wedding there will be no accommodation available. I'm afraid you won't be able to stay with us this time around, so we've outlined some options below. If you're looking at a rented house or apartment, why not team up? Fill the property and reduce the cost. You could even share a hire car.

We may have friends in Nassau who will be on vacation at Easter and so would rent out their apartment or house. We'll make sure we advertise any such opportunities to you.
