Ha Noi, 12 December 2017 – Poor and near-poor families affected by Typhoon Damrey in will get help to rebuild their homes thanks to a contribution of nearly 1 million USD from the Republic of Korea.
The event "Green transport for greening Viet Nam" takes place at Ha Noi Botanical Garden, known as the green lung of Ha Noi capital city. The program was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Ha Noi Institute for Socio-Economic Development Studies, Ha Noi Youth Union, students from universities in Ha Noi, organizations and individuals, especially the Ambassador for green growth awareness raising campaign - Miss Friendly 2008 Duong Thuy Linh.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting the assessment and coordination of the current emergency flood and typhoon response, and early recovery efforts in Viet Nam, which amount to USD 78,000. The organization is now actively reaching out to partners to look at how best to support the affected populations to effectively cope and recover.
