In Ya Face is probably the longest running queer radio show in Australia. The program explores gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer, and feminist issues with interviews, music, and commentary. We speak with people engaged in stimulating and provocative projects in queer communities - whether it be activism, advocacy, the arts, their personal narratives, or anything else that grabs our attention. We give queer perspectives about current affairs, social issues, and politics; and we play eclectic tracks and love the quirk factor.
Presented by James McKenzie and Yvette Kean, and produced by Michele Vescio.
This show is created and produced on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge sovereignty was never ceded and a treaty was never signed.

James speaks with Jane Green, a queer sex worker, blogger, and member of Vixen Collective, about the recognition and regulation of sex work, #SexWorkerRights in Victoria, the politics that often stigmatises sex work and its impact on sex workers, and the Nordic Model approach to sex work. Follow the Vixen Collective via Twitter; and to read Jane’s work, visit sexliesducttape.
James then speaks with Prof Dennis Altman, a Professorial Fellow in the Institute for Human Security at LaTrobe University in Melbourne and author of the book Homosexual: Oppression & Liberation, about his article in The Conversation on the impacts the same-sex marriage vote will have on human rights and democracy, the dangerous pitfalls of religious freedom, and the state of Australian politics pre- and post the passing of the same-sex marriage bill on Thursday.
