I got the idea for this video from a recent article in The New York Times, "36 hours in Chicago". By FRED A. BERNSTEIN, Published: September 22, 2010. He suggested riding in the front of the first car so this is what I did. I think it gives an idea of what it is like to ride this Chicago icon. It is also a great way to get an overview of Chicago. Most of this video is on the Brown Line, the most romantic line according to the Chicago REDEYE. I shot it with a Canon HF11 in Sport Mode with attached DM-100 microphone.

Chicago Loop’s debut release Stereo Vice on Techburst last year went down a storm in techno land, along with his equally big remix of Hackler & Kuch Strange Objects. Now he is back with some of his biggest productions to date, in our opinion! The first track on the EP is titled Kush and is a real nasty son-of-a-gun that takes a big loan of Mauro Picotto’s old BXR sound, but carves it into CL’s own unique and aggressive arrangement. Next up we have Use Me which pounds along like a juggernaut, right up until it’s very original and unconventional breakdown and build, proving that you don’t need loads of elements, along with the kitchen sink, to send a crowd into a frenzy. This is first class techno from Ant Wilson!

Riding the Chicago L Train Brown Line 6x – Chicago’s North End (Fullerton) to the Downtown Loop – Chicago Illinois
The Chicago 'L ' (sometimes written as "L" or "el", short for "elevated")[3] is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long[1][note 1]), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.[4] Chicago's 'L' provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four heavy rail rapid transit systems in the United States (the 'L', New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. The oldest sections of the 'L' started operations in 1892, making it the second-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T".[5] The 'L' has been credited with fostering the growth of Chicago's dense city core that is one of the city's distinguishing features.[6] The 'L' consists of eight rapid transit lines laid out in a spoke-hub distribution paradigm mainly focusing transit towards the Loop. The Brown Line (or the Ravenswood Line) of the Chicago L' rapid transit system, is an 11.4-mile (18.3 km) route with 28 stations between Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood and downtown Chicago. It runs completely above ground and is almost entirely grade-separated. It is the third busiest 'L' route, with an average of 101,881 passengers boarding each weekday in 2011.[1]
The Brown Line operates to the Loop weekdays and Saturdays from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and on Sundays from 6:30 am to 12:20 am. The Loop is the central business district of Chicago, Illinois. It is one of the city's 77 designated community areas. The Loop is home to Chicago's commercial core, City Hall, and the seat of Cook County. The community area is bounded on the north and west by the Chicago River, on the east by Lake Michigan, and on the south by Roosevelt Road, although the commercial core has significantly expanded into adjacent community areas. Red Bull is an energy drink sold by Austrian company Red Bull GmbH, created in 1987. In terms of market share, Red Bull is the highest-selling energy drink in the world, with 5.387 billion cans sold in 2013.
Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz was inspired by an existing energy drink named Krating Daeng, which was first invented and sold in Thailand. Riding the Chicago Loop
I got the idea for this video from a recent article in The New York Times, "36 hours in Chicago". By FRED A. BERNSTEIN, Published: September 22, 2010. He suggested riding in the front of the first car so this is what I did. I think it gives an idea of what it is like to ride this Chicago icon. It is also a great way to get an overview of Chicago. Most of this video is on the Brown Line, the most romantic line according to the Chicago REDEYE. I shot it with a Canon HF11 in Sport Mode with attached DM-100 microphone.

In November, we had an opportunity to work with Red Bull on a [pretty epic skate event, Red Bull Daily Grind. This ideas was pretty awesome; find an epic office space in Chicago's loop and build a skatepark that looks like an office. The last step was the best, let people skate it for a month. Some of Red Bull's major dudes came through (Ryan Scheckler, Corbin Harris, Joey Brezinski, to name a few). Those guys came and destroyed it. Sundays Episode 34 - Go Skateboarding Day
The original plan of skating from Grant Park to Humbolt Park was rained out. I was really looking forward to shooting a gang of kids skating through Chicago's Loop. In the end, I think we (Randy and I) were even luckier to have had the rain. Sure shooting with the FS700 in the rain isn't easy, I shot most of the rain footage from the back of my Honda Fit....that's why I always buy hatchbacks. Eventually, we made it to Clemente for the GSD Jam that Uprise and Nike were putting on. It was good to see everyone. I'm pretty sure Reggie Destin was smiling down on us because there were some crazy wallrides happening. It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long[1][note 1]), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.[4] Chicago's 'L' provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four heavy rail rapid transit systems in the United States (the 'L', New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. The oldest sections of the 'L' started operations in 1892, making it the second-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T".[5] The 'L' has been credited with fostering the growth of Chicago's dense city core that is one of the city's distinguishing features.[6] The 'L' consists of eight rapid transit lines laid out in a spoke-hub distribution paradigm mainly focusing transit towards the Loop. Although the 'L' gained its nickname because large parts of the system are elevated,[7][8] portions of the network are also in subway tunnels, at grade level, or open cut.[1]

The Brown Line (or the Ravenswood Line) of the Chicago L' rapid transit system, is an 11.4-mile (18.3 km) route with 28 stations between Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood and downtown Chicago. It runs completely above ground and is almost entirely grade-separated. It is the third busiest 'L' route, with an average of 101,881 passengers boarding each weekday in 2011.[1]
The Brown Line operates to the Loop weekdays and Saturdays from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and on Sundays from 6:30 am to 12:20 am. The Brown Line Shuttle service, running only between the northern terminus Kimball and Belmont, runs from 4:00 am to 2:25 am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:00 am to 12:25 am on Sundays. At Belmont, southbound riders can transfer to the 24-hour Red Line.
Before CTA lines were color-coded in 1993, the Brown Line was known as the Ravenswood Route; specifically, the series of stations from Belmont to Kimball were called the Ravenswood branch. Accordingly, the Kimball-Belmont shuttle service was called the Ravenswood Shuttle.

It runs completely above ground and is almost entirely grade-separated. It is the third busiest 'L' route, with an average of 101,881 passengers boarding each weekday in 2011.[1]
The Brown Line operates to the Loop weekdays and Saturdays from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and on Sundays from 6:30 am to 12:20 am. The Brown Line Shuttle service, running only between the northern terminus Kimball and Belmont, runs from 4:00 am to 2:25 am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:00 am to 12:25 am on Sundays. At Belmont, southbound riders can transfer to the 24-hour Red Line.
Before CTA lines were color-coded in 1993, the Brown Line was known as the Ravenswood Route; specifically, the series of stations from Belmont to Kimball were called the Ravenswood branch. Accordingly, the Kimball-Belmont shuttle service was called the Ravenswood Shuttle.

The first track on the EP is titled Kush and is a real nasty son-of-a-gun that takes a big loan of Mauro Picotto’s old BXR sound, but carves it into CL’s own unique and aggressive arrangement. Chicago is the first destination for my new series, Places in Time. This piece focuses specifically on downtown Chicago, which was my home for over 6 years until late 2010.
Downtown Chicago has long been an active area - a financial and transportation hub flanked by the lakefront, Grant Park, residential districts and shopping, but the area has evolved rapidly during the last decade and is now more than ever a major residential and tourism center. Between the world class skyline, lakefront, and park space, downtown Chicago offers scenery and an environment not found anywhere else in the non-coastal USA. The central city on an average day contains a blend of office workers, residents, commuters, and a mesh of locals, suburbanites, and tourists who venture in to enjoy the great restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
When I first moved to downtown Chicago in 2003, I lived in one of the only residential buildings in the Chicago Loop. Most businesses shut down after the workday and the area was very quiet at night. Since that time, the number of residents, and all the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment that support them, has grown rapidly in the Loop, South Loop, and West Loop neighborhoods. Living in a rapidly gentrifying area can be frustrating at times, but the transformation of the area in such a short period was nothing short of amazing to witness.
Chicago as a whole has a great energy - one of America's few dense urban environments where people are forced to step out of their isolating cars and experience life alongside one another. The people are mostly genuine, hard working, and friendly. There are countless vibrant neighborhoods with a dramatic range of uniqueness and character. The city changes and transforms during each of the four seasons, but never ceases to be active and full of life.
All footage for this piece was shot between 2010 and now. My goal was to provide a glimpse into the energy and fast paced life of an average day in downtown Chicago, enhanced through fast motion timelapse. Some of the viewpoints and locations may seem familiar, but I've also tried to showcase the city from a number of different and less common vantage points.

Most of my trips have very tight schedules that don't allow me the time to thoroughly explore, but I will be using this series as a reason to delve deeper into destinations and try to capture the real energy and atmosphere of the cities, areas, and countries that I visit.

In November, we had an opportunity to work with Red Bull on a [pretty epic skate event, Red Bull Daily Grind. This ideas was pretty awesome; find an epic office space in Chicago's loop and build a skatepark that looks like an office. The last step was the best, let people skate it for a month. Some of Red Bull's major dudes came through (Ryan Scheckler, Corbin Harris, Joey Brezinski, to name a few). Those guys came and destroyed it. Even better (?), Sundays crew was able to get in there and have a little fun.

The original plan of skating from Grant Park to Humbolt Park was rained out. I was really looking forward to shooting a gang of kids skating through Chicago's Loop. In the end, I think we (Randy and I) were even luckier to have had the rain. Sure shooting with the FS700 in the rain isn't easy, I shot most of the rain footage from the back of my Honda Fit....that's why I always buy hatchbacks.
Eventually, we made it to Clemente for the GSD Jam that Uprise and Nike were putting on. It was good to see everyone. I'm pretty sure Reggie Destin was smiling down on us because there were some crazy wallrides happening. Also, the Fully Torqued RV crew were there with Clive Dixon, Clint Walker, Dirty, Adam Mills, and Trevor Vaughn getting rad.

My Quick Guide To Chicago | 13 Things Travel
Some advice, tips, things to do and quick guide points for Chicago, Illinois travel. Based on my experiences and USA travel over 2 years ago. The third video to a wee series I am working on about my trip in America. I did not have many expectations for this city and stopped there, because 24 hours on a train after 72 hours on a train seemed unreasonable. I honestly think Chicago was the highlight of my trip! Some advice, tips, things to do and quick guide points for Chicago, Illinois travel. Based on my experiences and USA travel over 2 years ago. The third video to a wee series I am working on about my trip in America.
I did not have many expectations for this city and stopped there, because 24 hours on a train after 72 hours on a train seemed unreasonable. I honestly think Chicago was the highlight of my trip! I fell in love with this garden/park city and all it's beauty.

Riding the Chicago Loop
I got the idea for this video from a recent article in The New York Times, "36 hours in Chicago". By FRED A. BERNSTEIN, Published: September 22, 2010. He suggested riding in the front of the first car so this is what I did. I think it gives an idea of what it is like to ride this Chicago icon. It is also a great way to get an overview of Chicago. Most of this video is on the Brown Line, the most romantic line according to the Chicago REDEYE. I shot it with a Canon HF11 in Sport Mode with attached DM-100 microphone.

If you watch only one office themed skatepark video with a Dolly Parton soundtrack, make it this one! In November, we had an opportunity to work with Red Bull on a [pretty epic skate event, Red Bull Daily Grind. This ideas was pretty awesome; find an epic office space in Chicago's loop and build a skatepark that looks like an office. The last step was the best, let people skate it for a month. Some of Red Bull's major dudes came through (Ryan Scheckler, Corbin Harris, Joey Brezinski, to name a few). Those guys came and destroyed it. Sundays Episode 34 - Go Skateboarding Day
The original plan of skating from Grant Park to Humbolt Park was rained out. I was really looking forward to shooting a gang of kids skating through Chicago's Loop. In the end, I think we (Randy and I) were even luckier to have had the rain. Sure shooting with the FS700 in the rain isn't easy, I shot most of the rain footage from the back of my Honda Fit....that's why I always buy hatchbacks. Eventually, we made it to Clemente for the GSD Jam that Uprise and Nike were putting on. It was good to see everyone. I'm pretty sure Reggie Destin was smiling down on us because there were some crazy wallrides happening. I got the idea for this video from a recent article in The New York Times, "36 hours in Chicago". By FRED A. BERNSTEIN, Published: September 22, 2010. He suggested riding in the front of the first car so this is what I did. I think it gives an idea of what it is like to ride this Chicago icon. It is also a great way to get an overview of Chicago. Most of this video is on the Brown Line, the most romantic line according to the Chicago REDEYE. I shot it with a Canon HF11 in Sport Mode with attached DM-100 microphone.

The first track on the EP is titled Kush and is a real nasty son-of-a-gun that takes a big loan of Mauro Picotto’s old BXR sound, but carves it into CL’s own unique and aggressive arrangement. Next up we have Use Me which pounds along like a juggernaut, right up until it’s very original and unconventional breakdown and build, proving that you don’t need loads of elements, along with the kitchen sink, to send a crowd into a frenzy. The Chicago 'L ' (sometimes written as "L" or "el", short for "elevated")[3] is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long[1][note 1]), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.[4] Chicago's 'L' provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four heavy rail rapid transit systems in the United States (the 'L', New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. The oldest sections of the 'L' started operations in 1892, making it the second-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T".[5] The 'L' has been credited with fostering the growth of Chicago's dense city core that is one of the city's distinguishing features.[6] The 'L' consists of eight rapid transit lines laid out in a spoke-hub distribution paradigm mainly focusing transit towards the Loop. Chicago is the first destination for my new series, Places in Time. This piece focuses specifically on downtown Chicago, which was my home for over 6 years until late 2010.
Downtown Chicago has long been an active area - a financial and transportation hub flanked by the lakefront, Grant Park, residential districts and shopping, but the area has evolved rapidly during the last decade and is now more than ever a major residential and tourism center. Between the world class skyline, lakefront, and park space, downtown Chicago offers scenery and an environment not found anywhere else in the non-coastal USA. The central city on an average day contains a blend of office workers, residents, commuters, and a mesh of locals, suburbanites, and tourists who venture in to enjoy the great restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
When I first moved to downtown Chicago in 2003, I lived in one of the only residential buildings in the Chicago Loop. Most businesses shut down after the workday and the area was very quiet at night. Since that time, the number of residents, and all the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment that support them, has grown rapidly in the Loop, South Loop, and West Loop neighborhoods. Living in a rapidly gentrifying area can be frustrating at times, but the transformation of the area in such a short period was nothing short of amazing to witness.
Chicago as a whole has a great energy - one of America's few dense urban environments where people are forced to step out of their isolating cars and experience life alongside one another. The people are mostly genuine, hard working, and friendly. There are countless vibrant neighborhoods with a dramatic range of uniqueness and character. The city changes and transforms during each of the four seasons, but never ceases to be active and full of life.
All footage for this piece was shot between 2010 and now. My goal was to provide a glimpse into the energy and fast paced life of an average day in downtown Chicago, enhanced through fast motion timelapse. Some of the viewpoints and locations may seem familiar, but I've also tried to showcase the city from a number of different and less common vantage points.

Most of my trips have very tight schedules that don't allow me the time to thoroughly explore, but I will be using this series as a reason to delve deeper into destinations and try to capture the real energy and atmosphere of the cities, areas, and countries that I visit.

In November, we had an opportunity to work with Red Bull on a [pretty epic skate event, Red Bull Daily Grind. This ideas was pretty awesome; find an epic office space in Chicago's loop and build a skatepark that looks like an office. The last step was the best, let people skate it for a month. Some of Red Bull's major dudes came through (Ryan Scheckler, Corbin Harris, Joey Brezinski, to name a few). Those guys came and destroyed it. Even better (?), Sundays crew was able to get in there and have a little fun.

The original plan of skating from Grant Park to Humbolt Park was rained out. I was really looking forward to shooting a gang of kids skating through Chicago's Loop. In the end, I think we (Randy and I) were even luckier to have had the rain. Sure shooting with the FS700 in the rain isn't easy, I shot most of the rain footage from the back of my Honda Fit....that's why I always buy hatchbacks.
Eventually, we made it to Clemente for the GSD Jam that Uprise and Nike were putting on. It was good to see everyone. I'm pretty sure Reggie Destin was smiling down on us because there were some crazy wallrides happening. Also, the Fully Torqued RV crew were there with Clive Dixon, Clint Walker, Dirty, Adam Mills, and Trevor Vaughn getting rad.

CTA Brown Line - Chicago - From the Loop to Rockwell
I spelled "Harold" wrong in the title card, but this took so long to export from Adobe Premiere that I'm leaving it. For now. This is a journey by train on Chicago's "EL", or elevated train. We begin our journey in the Loop (on the actual loop, I guess), and ride all the way to the Rockwell stop in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. The Chicago 'L ' (sometimes written as "L" or "el", short for "elevated")[3] is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long[1][note 1]), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.[4] Chicago's 'L' provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four heavy rail rapid transit systems in the United States (the 'L', New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. The oldest sections of the 'L' started operations in 1892, making it the second-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T".[5] The 'L' has been credited with fostering the growth of Chicago's dense city core that is one of the city's distinguishing features.[6] The 'L' consists of eight rapid transit lines laid out in a spoke-hub distribution paradigm mainly focusing transit towards the Loop. Although the 'L' gained its nickname because large parts of the system are elevated,[7][8] portions of the network are also in subway tunnels, at grade level, or open cut.[1]
In 2013 the 'L' had an average of 726,459 passenger boardings each weekday, 456,993 each Saturday, and 328,553 each Sunday.[2] In a 2005 poll, Chicago Tribune readers voted it one of the "seven wonders of Chicago,"[9] behind the lakefront and Wrigley Field but ahead of Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), the Water Tower, the University of Chicago, and the Museum of Science and Industry.

The Brown Line (or the Ravenswood Line) of the Chicago L' rapid transit system, is an 11.4-mile (18.3 km) route with 28 stations between Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood and downtown Chicago. It runs completely above ground and is almost entirely grade-separated. It is the third busiest 'L' route, with an average of 101,881 passengers boarding each weekday in 2011.[1]
The Brown Line operates to the Loop weekdays and Saturdays from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and on Sundays from 6:30 am to 12:20 am. The Brown Line Shuttle service, running only between the northern terminus Kimball and Belmont, runs from 4:00 am to 2:25 am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:00 am to 12:25 am on Sundays. At Belmont, southbound riders can transfer to the 24-hour Red Line.
Before CTA lines were color-coded in 1993, the Brown Line was known as the Ravenswood Route; specifically, the series of stations from Belmont to Kimball were called the Ravenswood branch. Accordingly, the Kimball-Belmont shuttle service was called the Ravenswood Shuttle.

It is the fourth largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length (at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long[1][note 1]), and the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.[4] Chicago's 'L' provides 24-hour service on some portions of its network, being one of only four heavy rail rapid transit systems in the United States (the 'L', New York City Subway, PATH, and Philadelphia's PATCO Speedline) to do so. The oldest sections of the 'L' started operations in 1892, making it the second-oldest rapid transit system in the Americas, after Boston's "T".[5] The 'L' has been credited with fostering the growth of Chicago's dense city core that is one of the city's distinguishing features.[6] The 'L' consists of eight rapid transit lines laid out in a spoke-hub distribution paradigm mainly focusing transit towards the Loop. Although the 'L' gained its nickname because large parts of the system are elevated,[7][8] portions of the network are also in subway tunnels, at grade level, or open cut.[1]
In 2013 the 'L' had an average of 726,459 passenger boardings each weekday, 456,993 each Saturday, and 328,553 each Sunday.[2] In a 2005 poll, Chicago Tribune readers voted it one of the "seven wonders of Chicago,"[9] behind the lakefront and Wrigley Field but ahead of Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), the Water Tower, the University of Chicago, and the Museum of Science and Industry.

The Brown Line (or the Ravenswood Line) of the Chicago L' rapid transit system, is an 11.4-mile (18.3 km) route with 28 stations between Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood and downtown Chicago. It runs completely above ground and is almost entirely grade-separated. It is the third busiest 'L' route, with an average of 101,881 passengers boarding each weekday in 2011.[1]
The Brown Line operates to the Loop weekdays and Saturdays from 4:00 am to 1:30 am and on Sundays from 6:30 am to 12:20 am. The Brown Line Shuttle service, running only between the northern terminus Kimball and Belmont, runs from 4:00 am to 2:25 am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:00 am to 12:25 am on Sundays. At Belmont, southbound riders can transfer to the 24-hour Red Line.
Before CTA lines were color-coded in 1993, the Brown Line was known as the Ravenswood Route; specifically, the series of stations from Belmont to Kimball were called the Ravenswood branch. Accordingly, the Kimball-Belmont shuttle service was called the Ravenswood Shuttle.

Numerous accounts assert that the use of this term predates the elevated railroad, deriving from the multiple cable car turntables, or loops, that terminated in the district, and especially those of two lines that shared a loop, constructed in 1882, bounded by Madison, Wabash, State, and Lake.[2] However, transportation historian Bruce Moffat has concluded that "The Loop" was not used as a proper noun until after Charles Yerkes' 1895–97 construction of the elevated structure.[3]

This is a journey by train on Chicago's "EL", or elevated train. We begin our journey in the Loop (on the actual loop, I guess), and ride all the way to the Rockwell stop in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood.
