The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (in short Continental Divide Trail (CDT)) is a United States National Scenic Trail running 3,100 miles (5,000 km) between Mexico and Canada. It follows the Continental Divide of the Americas along the Rocky Mountains and traverses five U.S. states — Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. In Montana it crosses Triple Divide Peak which separates the Hudson Bay, Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean drainages. The trail is a combination of dedicated trails and small roads and considered 70% complete. Portions designated as uncompleted must be traveled by roadwalking on dirt or paved roads.
Only about two hundred people a year attempt to hike the entire trail, taking about six months to complete it. Dave Odell thru-hiked in 1977 and in the same year Dan Torpey hiked from the NM/CO border to Mt Robson, Canada. German long-distance rider Günter Wamser (on his way from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska), and Austrian Sonja Endlweber (who joined him for the rest of the journey from Mexico) managed to complete the tour with four Bureau of Land Management mustangs in three summers 2007–09.
The Continental Divide of the Americas (also known as the Continental Gulf of Division, the Great Divide, or merely the Continental Divide) is the principal, and largely mountainous, hydrological divide of the Americas. The Continental Divide extends from the Bering Strait to the Strait of Magellan, and separates the watersheds that drain into the Pacific Ocean from (1) those river systems that drain into the Atlantic Ocean (including those that drain into the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea), and (2) along the northernmost reaches of the Divide, those river systems that drain into the Arctic Ocean.
Though there are many other hydrological divides in the Americas, the Great Divide is by far the most prominent of these because it tends to follow a line of high peaks along the main ranges of the Rocky Mountains and Andes, at a generally much higher elevation than the other hydrological divisions.
The Continental Divide of the Americas begins at Cape Prince of Wales, Alaska, the westernmost point on the mainland of the Americas. The Divide crosses northern Alaska into the Yukon, then zig-zags south into British Columbia via the Cassiar Mountains and Omineca Mountains and northern Nechako Plateau to Summit Lake, north of the city of Prince George and just south of the community of McLeod Lake. From there the Divide traverses the McGregor Plateau to the spine of the Rockies, following the crest of the Canadian Rockies southeast to the 120th meridian west, from there forming the boundary between southern British Columbia and southern Alberta.

Lordsburg is a city in and the county seat of Hidalgo County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 3,379 at the 2000 census.
Lordsburg was founded in 1880 on the route of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Lordsburg is the birthplace of the official New Mexico State song, O Fair New Mexico. It was written by Lordsburg resident Elizabeth Garrett, the blind daughter of famed sheriff Pat Garrett. In 1917, Governor Washington Ellsworth Lindsey signed the legislation making it the official state song. In 1928, John Philip Sousa presented Governor Arthur T. Hannett and the people of New Mexico an arrangement of the state song embracing a musical story of the Indian, the cavalry, the Spanish and the Mexican.
In December 1938, the Lordsburg Municipal Airport (KLSB) began operation. It was the first airport in New Mexico. In 1927, Lordsburg was one of the stops on Charles Lindbergh's transcontinental "Spirit of Saint Louis" air tour. In the early 1950s the airport was served by the original Frontier Airlines (1950-1986) which flew DC-3's on a route from El Paso to Phoenix that included stops at Las Cruces, Deming, and Lordsburg, NM as well as Clifton, Safford, and Tucson, AZ. It is owned by the City of Lordsburg and is southeast, about one mile outside the city limits.
Every year adventurous hikers attempt to hike the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) which stretches from the US/Mexico border to the US/Canada border through the Rocky Mountains. In 2016 I joined their ranks, leaving the Mexico border and hiking 2800 miles to reach Canada 5 months later. I hope this video gives you a glimpse of that incredible experience. Continental Divide Trail Thru-hiker and bearded warrior, "The Real Hiking Viking, shares his top three tips for succeeding on the United States most raw and demanding long-trail. In order to complete the +2,600 mile journey, one must already be in good backpacking shape, have a good understanding of the weather conditions they are likely to run into, and thus the gear they should carry on the trail, and possess at least basic orienteering skills prior to hitting the CDT. Here is all of the gear Genevieve (aka Killer) plans to bring on our southbound Continental Divide Trail thru hike, as well as some comparisons to the gear she used on the PCT and AT. The base weight for this gear list comes out to around 9 pounds, a breakdown of all items and their corresponding weights can be found here. https://thetrailflowdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/genevieves-cdt-gear-list2.pdf Genevieve forgot to mention what shoes she'll be using. She's planning to try out some New Balance Minimus Zero V2's. For the PCT and AT she mostly used Saucony Peregrine 5's but has found that the new model, the 6's, are not nearly as durable. Not included are an ice axe and/or micro spikes, which may be carried through some sections depending on snow conditions.

The CDT project features advanced tooling support for C & C++ development. It is a mature project that is constantly evolving to support its users needs. It is widely used and adopted as part of other initiatives such as Polarsys. Technology like the CDT indexer heavily influences the upcoming dramatic speed improvements to the JDT indexer. This talk presents some of the latest and best features of the C/C++ Development Tools. This includes: • Debug features: new source lookup, dprintf, reverse debugging • CDT indexer & improvements • Codan (code analysis) improvements • Mulitcore debug features • Using Docker containers • and more With the removal of the old C Debugger Interface (CDI) we also give a few pointers if you are looking to migrate to the DSF debug framework. We also look fo...
