Frederick D. Burns was an important figure in Midwest amateur tennis in the early part of the 20th Century.
Burns was a journalist by profession from 1911 to 1958, and in the 1920s was a writer for the Cincinnati Times-Star (which was absorbed by the Cincinnati Post in the 1950s). He wrote about tennis, and played the game, including playing in the National Clay Court Championships in 1915 and Cincinnati's own international tennis tournament, now known as the Cincinnati Masters, in 1916 and 1923.
In 1925 he was ranked No. 5 in doubles by the United States Tennis Association's Midwest Section.
Burns served as President of the Southern Ohio Tennis Association (the predecessor of the Ohio Valley Tennis Association), and as Chairman of the National Parks Championships committee in 1940.
He also served as President of the USTA Midwest Section and is the namesake of that section's Fred Burns Award which recognizes the author, journalist, sportscaster, newspaper, radio or television station, or other individual which/who contributes the most toward promoting tennis on the local, district or sectional level.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 1984 American supernatural slasher horror film written and directed by Wes Craven, and the first film of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The film stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Amanda Wyss, Jsu Garcia, Robert Englund, and Johnny Depp in his feature film debut. Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Springwood, Ohio, the plot revolves around several teenagers who are stalked and killed in their dreams (and thus killed in reality) by Freddy Krueger. The teenagers are unaware of the cause of this strange phenomenon, but their parents hold a dark secret from long ago.
Craven produced A Nightmare on Elm Street on an estimated budget of just $1.8 million, a sum the film earned back during its first week. An instant commercial success, the film went on to gross over $25 million at the United States box office.A Nightmare on Elm Street was met with rave critical reviews and went on to make a very significant impact on the horror genre, spawning a franchise consisting of a line of sequels, a television series, a crossover with Friday the 13th, beyond various other works of imitation; a remake of the same name was released in 2010.

Ron Ward, 1988 , 27min, Documentary, U S A Fred Burns is a stand-up comedian who was born with spina bifida and lived his life in constant pain. Like the filmmaker, you will be confronted by Fred's uninhibited and destructive behaviour. Whatever the opposite of self-pity is, this must be close. This intimate and unconventional portrait is ultimately Fred's farewell performance, bellowed out in humour and pain.

Its Mr. Rogers meets H. P. Lovecraft in this impromptu, somewhat-sinister tale of a man who has more in store for you, his neighbor, than mere relaxation and sleep. Video contains various triggers such as stirring ice, whispering, reading & page flipping from The Good Book, crinkling and tapping sounds, and of course some good ol' R'lyehian thrown in for good measure. Background: This was originally going to be "Wholesome ASMR", but with thoughts of Mr. Rogers percolating in my subconscious, as well as finding a single cardigan sweater at the local thrift shop, well... here we are.
