Kodō (鼓童) ( http://www.agoravox.tv/culture-loisirs/culture/article/kodo-un-battement-de-coeur-29699 « Kodo, un battement de coeur japonais rythmé par le taiko » : voir l'article et les vidéos) est un groupe de percussionnistes japonais originaire de l'ile de Sado. Le collectif Kodo est formé en 1981 par d'anciens membres du groupe Ondekoza à la suite d'un différent entre Tagayasu (fondateur d'Ondekoza) et ses musiciens. Il perpétue et réinvente la tradition musicale japonaise, en explorant toutes les possibilités offertes par le taiko, tambour de peau tendue sur bois utilisé dans les fêtes traditionnelles.
Il parcourt le monde depuis le début des années 1980 pour diffuser son message « d'humanité partagée, de conscience environnementale et de paix ».

Ōdaiko : One of the most memorable drums of many taiko ensembles is the ōdaiko (大太鼓). For many, the ōdaiko solo is the embodiment of power due to the size of the drum, the volume, and the endurance it takes to perform. The ōdaiko is the largest drum of all taiko, if not the entire world. The largest ōdaiko are too big to move and permanently reside inside a temple or shrine. Ōdaiko means "big taiko", but within any group, it describes the largest drum in an ensemble, which could mean 12 inches (300 mm) in diameter or 12 feet (3.7 m) in diameter. Made from a single piece of wood, some ōdaiko come from trees that are hundreds of years old.

Kodō (鼓童?) is a professional taiko drumming troupe. Based on Sado Island, Japan, they have had a role in popularizing taiko drumming, both in Japan and abroad. They regularly tour Japan, Europe, and the United States.
Although the main focus of the performance is taiko drumming, other traditional Japanese musical instruments such as fue and shamisen make an appearance on stage as do traditional dance and vocal performance. Kodo's performance include pieces based on the traditional rhythms of regional Japan, pieces composed for Kodo by contemporary songwriters, and pieces written by Kodo members themselves. The numbers that Kodo perform can change from concert to concert. Kodo's performance normally lasts for about one hour and forty minutes.
In Japanese the word "Kodo" conveys two meanings: "heartbeat" the primal source of all rhythm and, read in a different way, the word can mean "children of the drum," a reflection of Kodo's desire to play their drums simply, with the heart of a child.
Kodo strives to both preserve and re-interpret traditional Japanese performing arts. From worldwide tours and research trips, Kodo brings back to Sado world music and experiences which now exert a strong influence on the group's performances and compositions. They also collaborate with other artists and composers.
Since their debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981, Kodo have given over 3,100 performances on five continents, spending about a third of the year overseas, a third touring in Japan and a third resting and preparing new material on Sado Island.

Percussion instrument
A percussion instrument is a musical instrument that is sounded by being struck or scraped by a beater (including attached or enclosed beaters or rattles); struck, scraped or rubbed by hand; or struck against another similar instrument. The percussion family is believed to include the oldest musical instruments, following the human voice.
The percussion section of an orchestra most commonly contains instruments such as timpani, snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, triangle and tambourine. However, the section can also contain non-percussive instruments, such as whistles and sirens, or a blown conch shell. On the other hand, keyboard instruments, such as the celesta, are not normally part of the percussion section, but keyboard percussion instruments such as the glockenspiel and xylophone (which do not have piano keyboards) are included.
Percussion instruments are most commonly divided into two classes: Pitched percussion instruments, which produce notes with an identifiable pitch, and unpitched percussion instruments, which produce notes or sounds without an identifiable pitch.

Four Tet
Kieran Hebden (born 1978), best known by the stage name Four Tet, is an English post-rock and electronic musician. Hebden first came to prominence as a member of the band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist.
Hebden's music originally eschewed the traditional pop song format in favour of a more abstract approach—his sound and melodies incorporate elements of hip hop, electronica, techno, jazz, grime and folk music with live instrumentation. His newer works are inspired heavily by house music.
Hebden has also remixed tracks by artists including Aphex Twin, Explosions in the Sky, Super Furry Animals, Radiohead, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, Manic Street Preachers, Sia and Black Sabbath, and has produced two albums by psychedelic improvisational group Sunburned Hand of the Man. Hebden's recent output includes a number of improvisational works with jazz drummer Steve Reid and collaborations with Burial and Thom Yorke.
History
Kieran Hebden was born in London to a South African-born Indian mother and a British sociology lecturer father. He attended Elliott School in Putney, where he formed the band Fridge with classmates Adem Ilhan and Sam Jeffers. The band signed a recording contract when Hebden was 15, and released their first album, Ceefax, on Trevor Jackson's Output Recordings label in March 1997.

Le thème central est ici la concordance entre les intervalles sonores et ses sons résultants. La structure de la forme en résulte ainsi : le mouvement so - nore parvient trois fois au silence. Plot: "A movement between the tranquility" The "Wie das Gefäß läuft es aus (It's empty like the vessel)" is a ceremony for meditation to enter into Toa or Nirvana. This film/video was inspired by the 4th chapter - "The Tao is an empty vessel; ..." of Toa Te Ching (by Lau-tzu). In this work, the culture of Eastern Asia will be interpreted newly in multimedia contents and in digital expression through immersed image and sound. Generally, a purpose of vessel put in something and it should be emptied itself. But if it is already fulled by something, it is not worth any more. It should be become every moment newly, otherwise some of the inside of vessel will be spoiled. Also, a man be born again every moment through this ceremony. When he is reached for a tranquil heart through the process, he will be recognized himself and attained Nirvana. The theme is "A movement between the tranquility". The sound expresses the movement between the tranquility. Also, the image shows the tranquility in the movement. Finally, it shows the process of attaining the Toa (Nirvana) through the medium between the sound and image.

Kodo strives to both preserve and re-interpret traditional Japanese performing arts. From worldwide tours and research trips, Kodo brings back to Sado world music and experiences which now exert a strong influence on the group's performances and compositions. They also collaborate with other artists and composers.
Since their debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981, Kodo have given over 3,100 performances on five continents, spending about a third of the year overseas, a third touring in Japan and a third resting and preparing new material on Sado Island.

Selon la compositrice, deux particularités distinguent cette œuvre de celles
composées auparavant :
« 1. Le thème central est ici la concordance entre les intervalles sonores et
ses sons résultants. La structure de la forme en résulte ainsi : le mouvement so -
nore parvient trois fois au silence. Avant que ce fond statique ne soit atteint,
seule la pulsation causée par les intervalles de l'accord précédent demeure. De
tels épisodes se produisent en des endroits précis et soumettent la forme à la loi
du nombre d'or.
2. Les percussionnistes solos ont sept épisodes dans cette œuvre au cours
