The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a sovereign state in the European Union. Lying off the north-western coast of the European mainland, it includes the island of "Great Britain" (a term also applied loosely to refer to the whole country), the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands.Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another state—the Republic of Ireland. Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, with the North Sea to its east, the English Channel to its south and the Celtic Sea to its south-southwest. The Irish Sea lies between Great Britain and Ireland. With an area of 93,800 square miles (243,000 km2), the UK is the 80th-largest sovereign state in the world and the 11th-largest in Europe. It is also is the 21st-most populous country, with an estimated 64.5 million inhabitants.
The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Its capital city is London, an important global city and financial centre with an urban population of 10,310,000, the fourth-largest in Europe and second-largest in the European Union. The current monarch—since 6 February 1952—is Queen Elizabeth II. The UK consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The latter three have devolved administrations, each with varying powers, based in their capitals, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast, respectively. The nearby Isle of Man, Bailiwick of Guernsey and Bailiwick of Jersey are not part of the United Kingdom, being Crown dependencies with the British Government responsible for defence and international representation.

A CONSERVATIVE MP has insisted that Britain’s Brexit agreement with the European Union is a huge piece of “good news” for the country. Sir Oliver Letwin, the Conservative MP for West Dorset, has praised the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal with the European Union. Speaking to BBC’s Daily Politics, Mr Letwin highlighted that the UK would no longer be making vast payments to the bloc after Brexit. He said: “This money is money we are already paying for the first large instalments of it. “Then we just go on paying it for a couple of years and then we stop paying it which is good news. “The rest of the money, about half of it, we pay over 20 to 30 to 40 years as pensions and so on. “The net effect is that, after a couple of years, our contribution is hugely reduced, which is good news.” ...

Bristol, the largest city in South West England, is one of the most interesting cities in the UK. This city has an eclectic combination of architectural styles and is one of the most culturally vibrant towns in England. By locals Bristol is called Brizzle or Bristle. A good place to start exploring the city is the Castle Park with the ruins of St Peter’s Church and the ruins of Bristol Castle. This used to be a network of busy streets and shops until it was bombed during the second world war. In the Old Town there are plenty of interesting buildings from most of the architectural periods of the UK. In this neighborhood there also is the Queen Square, a garden with the Statue of William III. A short walk from there is the St Mary Radcliffe Church. Which has been a place of Christian w...

If you’re an American or know an American that is seriously considering visiting England, listen up, because I know a thing or two about that place. That’s right: Until I turned my back on it and moved to its larger cousin, England was my home for 27 drizzly years. While there, I made American friends, dated American girls (I was young; they were desperate), and saw lots of American tourists. There appears to be two charts for 1983 that I have found, it appears the main chart only includes sales upto Dec 25th 1983 so I have used the chart that includes the Christmas - New year week. It appears as the chart is dated the Saturday after publication that the post Christmas week got included into 1984. The major difference is Slade "My Oh My" which was No.65 in one chart & was No.31 in the next this was due to it being No.2 in the weekly chart of 26 Dec - 1 Jan.

It's taken over 8 days to upload this to Youtube so hopefully this will not get blocked.Apologies for the black lines on some of the videos I have tried to rectify this a few times but with no success.
Things to note about this chart: The positions 100-40 are questionable as No.52 Dollar only peaked at No.19 it is generally assumed the positions are not accurate but it's the only chart we have. In the 70's and early 80's the chart compilers used to compile the chart in early December so tv and radio stations could plan their Christmas schedule this chart is based on info up to 19 December as a result some songs like Human League "Don't You Want Me?" have low positions it is generally agreed that this song was probably the 6th biggest seller of the year if sales at Christmas had been taken into account. As a result of the inaccuracies I have only put the sales figures on for the top 2.

In a new episode of Rule Britannia, VICE joins the UK's Army Cadet Force and asks what the youth club can give British kids who may not have a lot else. The Army Cadet Force has over 46,000 cadets from the ages of 12 to 18, training in 1,700 detachments all over the country. The super low-cost club evenings and training camps equip teenagers with discipline and skills in everything from orienteering and military knowledge to weaponry, first aid, and sports. Smartly uniformed and proudly representing Queen and Country, the young cadets are taught to embody British values. The theory that cadet activities could keep youth on the right track has seen huge government funding allocated to expand the cadets by next year. Can't ya hear me say
Tell me tell me that
Can I dance between your thighs
Hey hey hey. Can't ya hear me say
No no no no. Tell me yeah, yeah, yeah
No no no no. Tell me yeah, yeah, yeah
Tell me tell me that
Tell me tell me that
Tell me tell me that
Can I twist and pull your hair
Hey hey hey. Can't ya hear me say
Tell me tell me that
Can I carry you upstairs? Hey hey hey
Can't ya hear me say
I know I ain't no Romeo
I know you got no place to go
I need your love - I want my share
Well uh huh and a no no no
Uh huh and a yeah yeah yeah
No no no no tell me yeah yeah yeah
No no no no tell me yeah yeah yeah
Shhhh - Be very very quiet
It's woman season - I'm woman hunting
Every time I go woman hunting
It always seems to blow up in my face
I never really get the things I want
I'm not expecting a pity party or nothing
Any girl'd be nice every now and then
I'm a nice guy - I bathe
Sure I got blue arms - So what?
It doesn't make me a bad person
One example - Just last night I had it all ready
The girl that walked out on me on New years Eve
Well she came back last night
And she said, "I don't have to go home tonight."
I said, "All right."
So - I bought again a case of cold, cold Heiniken
And then - I had it in the van
A big bottle of Jack Daniels
Not the little one, the big one
And I always carry a stash, cause you never know
I had two left, two ludes, for the girl of my dreams
Now,again, she drinks my beer
She drinks my whiskey
She does my Qualudes
5 o'clock comes
"Oh I feel sick - I gotta go home now."
And she threw up all over the floor
I said, "Freeze, freeze - go outside and do that!"
I said, "The hell with this. I don't need this."
"I'll go to the geisha house where it's free."
So I said, "Quit, quit throwing up"
"Don't tell me no, tell me yeah yeah yeah"
Don't tell me no tell me yeah yeah yeah
And she threw up again
Tell me tell me that
Tell me tell me that
Tell me tell me that
Can I lubricate your lips
Hey hey hey
Can't ya hear me say
Tell me tell me that
Can I steal your battleship
Hey hey hey, can't ya hear me say
I know I ain't no Romeo
I know you got no place to go
I need your love
I want my share
Well uh huh and a no no no
There goes an uh huh and a yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
No no no no - Tell me yeah yeah yeah
No no no no - Tell me yeah yeah yeah
No no no no - Tell me yeah yeah yeah
No no no no - Tell me yeah yeah yeah
Trust me
Ooooo
