1916 (MCMXVI) was a leap year starting on Saturday (dominical letter BA) of the Gregorian calendar and a leap year starting on Friday (dominical letter CB) of the Julian calendar, the 1916th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 916th year of the 2nd millennium, the 16th year of the 20th century, and the 7th year of the 1910s decade. Note that the Julian day for 1916 is 13 calendar days difference, which continued to be used from 1582 until the complete conversion of the Gregorian calendar was entirely done in 1929.
Below, the events of World War I have the "WWI" prefix.
The Easter Rising (Irish: Éirí Amach na Cásca), also known as the Easter Rebellion, was an armed insurrection in Ireland during Easter Week, 1916. The Rising was mounted by Irish republicans to end British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish Republic while the United Kingdom was heavily engaged in World War I. It was the most significant uprising in Ireland since the rebellion of 1798.
Organised by seven members of the Military Council of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, the Rising began on Easter Monday, 24 April 1916, and lasted for six days. Members of the Irish Volunteers — led by schoolmaster and Irish language activist Patrick Pearse, joined by the smaller Irish Citizen Army of James Connolly, along with 200 members of Cumann na mBan — seized key locations in Dublin and proclaimed an Irish Republic. There were isolated actions in other parts of Ireland, with an attack on the Royal Irish Constabulary barracks at Ashbourne, County Meath and abortive attacks on other barracks in County Galway and at Enniscorthy, County Wexford.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.
Easter (Old English usually Ēastrun, -on, or -an; also Ēastru, -o; and Ēostre), also called Pasch (derived, through Latin: Pascha and Greek Πάσχα Paskha, from Aramaic: פסחא, cognate to Hebrew: פֶּסַח Pesaḥ) or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Christ, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
The week before Easter is called Holy Week, and it contains the days of the Easter Triduum, including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In western Christianity, Eastertide, the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the fiftieth day, Pentecost Sunday. In Orthodoxy, the season of Pascha begins on Pascha and ends with the coming of the fortieth day, the Feast of the Ascension.

A music video of Motörhead: 1916 from the album 1916. This song is composed by Lemmy Kilmister. Lyrics: 16 years old when I went to the war, To fight for a land fit for heroes, God on my side, and a gun in my hand, Chasing my days down to zero, And I marched and I fought and I bled and I died, And I never did get any older, But I knew at the time that a year in the line, Is a long enough life for a soldier, We all volunteered, and we wrote down our names, And we added two years to our ages, Eager for life and ahead of the game, Ready for history's pages, And we brawled and we fought and we whored 'til we stood, Ten thousand shoulder to shoulder, A thirst for the Hun, we were food for the gun, And that's what you are when you're soldiers, I heard my friend cry, and he ...
Game: 1916 - Der Unbekannte Krieg Link: http://www.indiedb.com/games/1916 For some reason, I felt REALLY compelled to make this video. This game has been a favourite of mine for years, still outperforming any other short horror game in terms of originality, atmosphere, sound design, how the character “feels” to control, and the level of dread that washes over you as you wander deeper into literal hell on earth. This kind of stuff is just what the indie horror genre needs, I say. One that relies on more than just cheap jumpscares, cliché set-ups and minor-at-best attention to detail, and one that really gets into your mind and immerses you in what it has to offer. Story-based horror titles like Cry of Fear, Dead Space and SCP:CB are all well and good in my books (and forever will be!), but...

Ireland is preparing to mark the centenary of the Easter Rising against British rule amid fears of an upsurge in dissident republican violence. The Irish President has told Sky News he does not believe it is dangerous to commemorate the past and that it is "useless... to effect some kind of amnesia". Intolerance is a 1916 epic silent film directed by D. W. Griffith and considered one of the great masterpieces of the Silent Era. The three-and-a-half hour epic intercuts four parallel storylines, each separated by several centuries: (1) a contemporary melodrama of crime and redemption, (2) a Judean story: Christ's mission and death, (3) a French story: the events surrounding the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre of 1572, and (4) a Babylonian story: the fall of the Babylonian Empire to Persia in 539 BC. Each story had its own distinctive color tint in the original print. The scenes are linked by shots of a figure representing Eternal Motherhood, rocking a cradle.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a 1916 silent film directed by Stuart Paton. The film's storyline is based on the novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. It also incorporates elements from Verne's The Mysterious Island. This version is notable for its groundbreaking work in underwater photography by the brothers George M. Williamson and J. Ernest Williamson. Actual underwater cameras were not used, but a system of watertight tubes and mirrors allowed the camera to shoot reflected images of underwater scenes staged in shallow sunlit waters. The film was made by The Universal Film Manufacturing Company (now Universal Pictures), not then known as a major motion picture studio. Yet in 1916, they financed this film's innovative special effects, location photography, large s...

Аманкелді Иманов - Ұлт-азаттық көтеріліс 1916 жыл автор: Бауыржан Бөгенбай
i let my hands get caught
in all the flame
well i cannot play again
when do you ask me if
i am okay?
i see it when we dance
and make a pouters potrait
on the steps, oh my
it is divine
but there is just one more question
i will ask, is all this really mine?
inside my heart i scream,
it must be time this weather cant be right
we rode our horses to the outer edge
the crusty, dry divide.
and we became the people
we have never meant to be
those dying flames
the pieces we did not want to receive
and when you come home from your dinners
darling, do you want to fight?
and when i cut the lines within my hands
will you still want to cry?
and when your gal decides she's on her own
you'll rethink your romance
you never want to care for
anyway you're taking down that fence
but when you come home to the kitchen
i am waiting at the sink
my salty fingers ride across the cupboard
drenching it with skin
we are in love
and rare descendants
of the faithless brats
who bit their tongues
who screamed instead
to scare their onward sons
and in the trees they built their
truths and meaningless machines
we grew from beans
that froze beneath the snow
