Babyboomer reflections of channel 11 in New York !
The following video features various news and talent opens from New York City's WPIX from 1955 to present. This is a reupload of the compilation that was originally uploaded on October 24, 2013, and in turn, a refreshed version of the revision uploaded on April 19, 2014, to include WPIX's newer newscast opens that debuted on April 23, 2014. WPIX (WB11) Live Coverage on September 11, 2001. (Breaking News) (Flight 175 Impact)
Weeknight newscast from the then-indpendent station in New York. Commercials are included. Unfortunately the recording was cut off during the end credits. This is probably the single coolest thing I've ever seen a television station do. It's September 17, 2006. The WB has just aired its farewell montage. The CW is to premiere the night after. WPIX is about to transition to its new branding, with the first "CW11 News At Ten" to premiere after the final night of the WB. Instead of letting the moment pass quietly, they decide to mark it. This clip is how they did that. In a nutshell - it's just about every logo the station had ever used, shown with date and era-appropriate music (you probably can imagine the music choice for 11 Alive). Most of them are VERY accurately reconstructed, down to color and font - they even use the two distinct versions of the circle 11 from 1969 and 1985 respectively. They only made one major omission: the f...

A segment on the 80' WPIX video game show TV PIXX from an anniversary show they did a few years back.
I.O.I.O.
You know I love getting up in the morning
When the sun first strikes the trees
All the morning birds that sing above
Still bring back memories
Of a girl who stood beside me
When the rights I did were wrong
But she went back down the river
Just when I thought I could be strong
When I thought I could be strong, so I sing
I.O.I.O.
She never told me why she left me
But the letter said goodbye
Now my mornings are for wond'ring
And my nights to reason why
Why a stranger comes to steal the love
Of a girl I had to hold
But she went back down the river
Just when I thought I could be strong
When I thought I could be strong, so I sing
