"Rainy Days and Mondays" is a 1971 song by The Carpenters, with instrumental backing by L.A. session musicians from the Wrecking Crew, that went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it was the duo's fourth #1 song on the Adult Contemporary singles chart. However, the song failed to chart in the United Kingdom until it went to #63 in a reissue there in 1993. "Rainy Days and Mondays" was certified Gold by the RIAA
The song was composed in 1971 by the then-fairly unknown composers Roger Nichols and Paul Williams. It was released as the first track on the album Carpenters, popularly known as the Tan Album, and the B-side on the single is "Saturday", written and sung by Richard Carpenter.
Olivia Newton-John, one of Karen's best friends and viewed by Richard as "a genuine friend", recorded a cover version of this song on her album Indigo: Women of Song as a tribute to Karen.
Andy Williams released a version in 1971 on his album, You've Got a Friend.
"Still Alive" is a song featured in the 2007 video game Portal. It was composed and arranged by Jonathan Coulton and was performed by Ellen McLain, while portraying the Portal character GLaDOS. The song originated in a meeting between two Valve developers and Coulton about him writing a song for the company, which Coulton accepted as he was a fan of the Half-Life series. It is the end credits song, and plays after GLaDOS is defeated by Chell (the game's protagonist and player character), with the lyrics suggesting that she (GLaDOS) is "still alive". The song received significant praise for its humour and the quality of its performance. It has been featured in multiple venues, including at the 2009 Press Start -Symphony of Games-, a yearly Japanese concert event to showcase the musical works of video games. It was also featured as a free downloadable song for the Rock Band series, originally released on April 1, 2008. A rerecorded version, with Sara Quin on lead vocals, appears on Coulton's 2011 album Artificial Heart. The sequel to Portal, Portal 2, also ended with a song written by Coulton and sung by McLain called "Want You Gone".

http://thelip.tv/ http://www.facebook.com/thelip.tv http://www.facebook.com/BYODOC https://twitter.com/#!/onditimoner EPISODE SYNOPSIS: Paul Williams is an instantly recognizable face from the 1970's that, among other things, performed as an actor and musician and wrote, "The Rainbow Connection." Our guest, Stephen Kessler created the feature doc, "Paul Williams: Still Alive," shedding light on Williams' troubled talent. We talk about the unlikely celebrity that is Paul Williams, getting access to old footage to tell the story, and working with a subject that had mixed feelings about being the focus of a documentary. It is a sparkling and almost mercurial discussion--one that matches Paul's talent. ADD'L LINKS: http://paulwilliamsstillalive.com/ https://www.facebook.com/PaulWilliamsStill...
A few points on this dialogue! Firstly, a big thanks to Jonathan for allowing the discussion and for live-streaming it. As for the discussion itself there are a couple of points concerning Muslim theology that were brought up of which you can find more information on: 1. The Hadith of Allah creating Adam in the image is discussed in the following two links: http://seekershub.org/ans-blog/2009/08/16/what-does-the-narration-allah-created-adam-in-hishis-image-mean/ https://islamqa.info/en/20652 2. The term “Father” in the New Testament and the Islamic term “Rabb” is explained by Dr Ali Ataie here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze6dnwEzf4U Lastly, Tony Costa continually used the word “person” when talking about the Trinity idea but this is not a Biblical term nor is the concept distingu...

Carburetors man... that's what life is all about
[That's what life is all about]
[That's what life is all about]
[That's what life is all about]
[That's what it's all about]
I was not myself last night - lost a fight, my woody barely running
By a dude I should have beat, and on the street a blow like that is
stunning
I finally lost control - I tore my tuck-n-roll
{1st chorus}
Upholstery - Where my baby sits up close to me [ooo aah ooo aah]
That's supposed to be what our life is all about [all about]
Upholstery where my baby sits up close to me [ooo aah ooo aaah]
That's supposed to be what our life is all about [all about]
Of all life's mysteries the greatest one I've seen [tell me why]
My short runs better when it's clean
I was not myself last night - I ran a light without my registration
Where the cops were bound to see, and you know me - already on probation
I wound up on parole - I tore my tuck-n-roll
{repeat 1st chorus 2x}
Upholstery - Where my baby sits up close to me [ooo aaah ooo aaah]
That's supposed to be what life is all about[ooo aaah all about]
Upholstery where my baby sits up close to me [ooo aah ooo aah]
That's supposed to be what our life is all about [that's what it's all
about]
My upholstery [aaah ooo aaah ooo aaah]
Where my baby sits up close to me [ooo aah ooo aah]
That's supposed to be what our life is all about
