Comcast Center is a skyscraper in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The 58-story, 297-meter (974 ft) tower is the tallest building in Philadelphia and the nineteenth tallest building in the United States. Originally called One Pennsylvania Plaza when the building was first announced in 2001, the Comcast Center went through two redesigns before construction began in 2005. Comcast Center was designed by architect Robert A. M. Stern for Liberty Property Trust.
At the beginning of 2005, the final redesign and its new name the Comcast Center was unveiled. The building is named after its lead tenant, cable company Comcast, which makes the skyscraper its corporate headquarters. Leasing 1,094,212 square feet (101,656 m2), Comcast takes up 89 percent of the building. The building features retail and restaurant space and a connection to the nearby Suburban Station. In Comcast Center's lobby is the Comcast Experience, which is a 2,000 square feet (190 m2) high-definition LED screen that has become a tourist attraction. Designed to be environmentally friendly, the skyscraper is the tallest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building in Philadelphia.

Comcast Corporation, formerly registered as Comcast Holdings, is an American multinational mass media company and is the largest broadcasting and largest cable company in the world by revenue. It is the second largest pay-TV company after the AT&T-DirecTV acquisition, largest cable TV company and largest home Internet service provider in the United States, and the nation's third largest home telephone service provider. Comcast services U.S. residential and commercial customers in 40 states and the District of Columbia. The company's headquarters are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As the owner of the international media company NBCUniversal since 2011, Comcast is a producer of feature films and television programs intended for theatrical exhibition and over-the-air and cable television broadcast.
Comcast operates multiple cable-only channels (including E! Entertainment Television, the Golf Channel, and NBCSN), over-the-air national broadcast network channels (NBC and Telemundo), the film production studio Universal Pictures, and Universal Parks & Resorts, with a global total of nearly 200 family entertainment locations and attractions in the U.S. and several other countries including U.A.E., South Korea, Russia and China, with several new locations reportedly planned and being developed for future operation. Comcast also has significant holding in digital distribution (thePlatform). In February 2014 the company agreed to merge with Time Warner Cable in an equity swap deal worth $45.2 billion. Under the terms of the agreement Comcast was to acquire 100% of Time Warner Cable. However, on April 24, 2015, Comcast terminated the agreement.
Designed by Lord Norman Foster and developed by Liberty Property Trust to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, the 59-story tower will include a Four Seasons Hotel. Thousands of jobs and billions of dollars of economic activity will be created in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania commonwealth.

For more destinations: http://www.craig.reviews/united-states/ For more information on Philadelphia: http://www.craig.reviews/a-weekend-in-philadelphia/ Each weekend that I travel to a different city I try to pack in as many fun and interesting attractions as possible. To showcase how easy and cheap it can be to see the country, I do not take any time off of work (I have to work a full 40 hours on each side of the weekend). Additionally, I use a couple money saving techniques like couch surfing and kayak explore. This weekend I am in Philadelphia, and here is my itinerary: - Frontier Airlines (19,536 miles used, valued at $224.40) - Trenton/Couchsurfing 1) Reading Terminal Market ($8.10) 2) Independence Hall ($0) 3) Liberty Bell ($0) 4) Washington Square ($0) 5) The Curtis Center/Drea...

PETER CLINE, COMCAST Building Robust Distributed Systems When You're Not (Initially) An Expert Wednesday, October 29th Starting in February 2012, we began building a distributed systems library, Sirius, that included an implementation of Paxos. The team working on it did not have extensive distributed systems experience, yet a working implementation was in production just a few short months later. Along the way, we employed some useful tactics and learned some lessons about building, deploying, and evolving distributed systems. In this talk we'll share several specific techniques we used (and production errors we encountered) that should generalize well to lots of particular implementation scenarios.

This is a video of me talking to my cable and internet provider about a mishap with my bill. This is the 4th phone call I had made considering the situation. Comcast is continually messing up my (everyone's) bill. It's a long video and I don't know how to edit, but skipping around should get the point across. There is cursing. Disclaimer: I had just woken up. I'm a nice person, but this is so completely frustrating. Hopefully, Comcast sees this and fixes the issue.
For eight months now I have been battling Comcast / xfinity as they have attempted to bill me $10 extra for a modem that I have owned since 2005. I have called them numerous times to no avail. They add the $10, I call to get it removed, recycle and repeat....
