Pentecostalism or Classical Pentecostalism is a renewal movement within ProtestantChristianity that places special emphasis on a direct personal experience of God through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. The term Pentecostal is derived from Pentecost, the Greek name for the Jewish Feast of Weeks. For Christians, this event commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the followers of Jesus Christ, as described in the second chapter of the Book of Acts.
Like other forms of evangelical Protestantism, Pentecostalism adheres to the inerrancy of scripture and the necessity of accepting Christ as personal Lord and Savior. It is distinguished by belief in the baptism with the Holy Spirit as an experience separate from conversion that enables a Christian to live a Holy Spirit–filled and empowered life. This empowerment includes the use of spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues and divine healing—two other defining characteristics of Pentecostalism. Because of their commitment to biblical authority, spiritual gifts, and the miraculous, Pentecostals tend to see their movement as reflecting the same kind of spiritual power and teachings that were found in the Apostolic Age of the early church. For this reason, some Pentecostals also use the term Apostolic or Full Gospel to describe their movement.
Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost is a term found in English translations of the Bible that is understood differently among the Abrahamic religions.
The Hebrew language phrase ruach ha-kodesh (Hebrew: רוח הקודש, "holy spirit" also transliterated ruaḥ ha-qodesh) is a term used in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) and Jewish writings to refer to the spirit of YHWH (רוח יהוה). It literally means "spirit of the holiness" or "spirit of the holy place". The Hebrew terms ruaḥ qodshəka, "thy holy spirit" (רוּחַ קָדְשְׁךָ), and ruaḥ qodshō, "his holy spirit" (רוּחַ קָדְשׁ֑וֹ) also occur (when a possessive suffix is added the definite article is dropped).
The "Holy Spirit" in Judaism generally refers to the divine aspect of prophecy and wisdom. It also refers to the divine force, quality, and influence of the Most High God, over the universe or over his creatures, in given contexts.

Pentecostalism is a fairly modern branch of Christianity which can be traced back to the holiness-movement of the Methodist church. This faith is centered on the belief of spiritual gifts bestowed by the Holy Spirit. Pentecostalism takes its name from the Christian festival of Pentecost, which was the Greek name for the Jewish Feast of Harvest, or Feast of Weeks. The Christian Pentecost then, was a holiday taking place 50 days after Easter which commemorates the episode after Jesus’ death and Resurrection, and is described in the bible that the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit of God and spoke in tongues, strange utterances interpreted as divine language. This phenomenon was recognized in the early Church as a sign of God’s presence, although later the Church came to view this...

This Bible Study video, by Missionary Evangelist Robert Breaker, shows why he personally is not a Pentecostal. In this video he shows what Pentecostals believe, where they come from, and how many of their doctrines are taken from the early part of the book of Acts, which was JEWS preaching to JEWS. He further shows the transition in the book of Acts to GENTILES, and explains how today we are under the ministry of the Apostle Paul, the apostle to the GENTILES (Rom. 11:13), and how salvation today is different than it was at Pentecost. Having belonged to an Assembly of God Church for four years before getting saved, Bro. Robert tells of what he experienced first hand in that religious system, and why he now is not part of that group, as he shows from scriptures why he personally cannot be...
It's great that C-3PO knows over six million languages. It's less great when he buzzkills your Pentecostal revival by saying all the languages you're speaking are fake. And yes, sorry, 1 Corinthians 13, not 14. My apologies. Or, as they say in Pentecostalism, twa bravintisha.
