The Tiberian vocalization, Tiberian pointing, or Tiberian niqqud (Hebrew: נִיקוּד טְבֵרִיָנִי) is a system of diacritics (niqqud) devised by the Masoretes of Tiberias to add to the consonantal text of the Hebrew Bible to produce the Masoretic Text. This system soon became used to vocalize other Hebrew texts as well.
The Tiberian vocalization marks vowels and stress, makes fine distinctions of consonant quality and length, and serves as punctuation. While the Tiberian system was devised for Tiberian Hebrew, it has become the dominant system for vocalizing all forms of Hebrew, having long since eclipsed the Babylonian and Palestinian vocalization systems.
The sin dot distinguishes between the two values of ש. A dagesh indicates a consonant is geminate or unspirantized, while a raphe indicates spirantization. The mappiq indicates that ה is consonantal rather than silent in syllable-coda position.
The seven vowel qualities of Tiberian Hebrew are indicated straightforwardly by distinct diacritics:
A noun (from Latin nōmen, literally meaning "name") is a word that functions as the name of some specific thing or set of things, such as living creatures, objects, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas.Linguistically, a noun is a member of a large, open part of speech whose members can occur as the main word in the subject of a clause, the object of a verb, or the object of a preposition.
Lexical categories (parts of speech) are defined in terms of the ways in which their members combine with other kinds of expressions. The syntactic rules for nouns differ from language to language. In English, nouns are those words which can occur with articles and attributive adjectives and can function as the head of a noun phrase.
Word classes (parts of speech) were described by Sanskrit grammarians from at least the 5th century BC. In Yāska's Nirukta, the noun (nāma) is one of the four main categories of words defined.
The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nōmen. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.

Millinery Center Synagogue is a Jewish Orthodox synagogue located in the Garment District of New York City.
The synagogue was supported by the many millinery organizations that were based in the neighborhood. A group of these ready-to-wear industry business men had been meeting in various spaces, mostly in a loft on West 36th Street. Their rabbi during this very loosely organized time was Rabbi Moshe Ralbag. In January 1933, the congregation was more formally organized and the name of the synagogue, the Millinery Center Synagogue, was agreed upon, although the meeting place was temporary, at 1011 Sixth Avenue, on the second floor. Moe Brillstein (the father of film producer Bernie Brillstein) became president and started a building fund. At that point the congregation came together and decided to build a synagogue.
Due to the density of millinery businesses in the neighborhood, at its peak, services for daily minyan were typically so heavily attended that the prayer sessions were held in rotating shifts.

Hey all :) So I have been waiting to do another video until I got a new microphone, because the one I had before just didn't do justice to the impressions. I was practising like crazy and sounded good, then when I'd record something it sounded terrible. So I'm borrowing a REALLY good mic atm, and just wanted to test it out, so I did this vid. :) Now, if you haven't played Command and Conquer Generals (its a computer game) then you will have NO IDEA what I'm going on about...but basically, all you need to know is that I'm doing a bunch of voices from the game, and with this new beautiful mic, they are pretty darn close to the real thing. So hopefully I'll be able to get some really good stuff on here now that I actually sound ok! Thanks for your continued support even though I haven't been...

This video is the first part of an introduction to all the Hebrew vowels, presented in what, at least to me, is the easiest way to learn them. Whether you know the consonants or not, this tutorial will enable you to learn all the vowel sounds in the Hebrew alphabet. (By the way, If you know your Hebrew already, you may find my description of the "eh" vowels to be lacking in depth, but the goal here is to get people up and reading as quickly as possible. Fine tuning on all issues of pronunciation can and should be done with the guidance of a teacher. This is only meant as an introduction to basic sounds.)
"Thumbling and "Thumbling's Travels" are two German fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm. They are tales number 37 and 45 in the collection and are related to the English Tom Thumb, whose title the Grimms' stories often share when translated into English. The two stories do not feature the same character. The original German names for the two characters are "Daumsdick" for the former, and "Daumerling" for the latter. edit [as of 2/19/2016]: I've been needing to update this... Along with a lot of other changes, I don't follow this pronunciation completely, and it should be clear that when it comes to liturgical use of Hebrew, there is no one tradition is more "correct" than the others, as long as one follows an established, existing one. By "A to T", I mean Aleph to Taw, while also making a terrible pun on "A to Z". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that this reflects pronounciation of the consonants for Tiberian, Yemenite, and Mizrahi Hebrew; the pronounciation of (vowel) niqqud is where they differ... Sorry for almost leaving out yodh, and almost not writing kaph soffit. This is the pronounciation of the letters that I learned from the Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiberian...) obtw...

The Hebrew alphabet (Hebrew: אָלֶף־בֵּית עִבְרִי, alefbet ʿIvri ), known variously by scholars as the Jewish script, square script, block script, is used in the writing of the Hebrew language, as well as other Jewish languages, most notably Yiddish, Ladino, and Judeo-Arabic. There have been two script forms in use; the original old Hebrew script is known as the paleo-Hebrew script (which has been largely preserved, in an altered form, in the Samaritan script), while the present "square" form of the Hebrew alphabet is a stylized form of the Assyrian script. Various "styles" (in current terms, "fonts") of representation of the letters exist. There is also a cursive Hebrew script, which has also varied over time and place. The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters, of which five have different forms...
The name of God in Judaism used most often in the Hebrew Bible is the four-letter name יהוה (YHWH), also known as the Tetragrammaton. El (god), Elohim (god, singular and plural form, depending on the context), El Shaddai (god almighty), Adonai (master), Elyon (highest) and Avinu (our father) are regarded by many religious Jews not as names, but as epithets or titles highlighting different aspects and 'roles' of God.
