M.O

M.O ("M point O") are an English female trio consisting of members Annie Ashcroft, Frankee Connolly and Nadine Samuels. The girl band was formed in 2012 by the members themselves, after their previous groups Mini Viva and Duchess had disbanded. In early 2014 they released their debut single "For A Minute", which was followed up by "Dance On My Own" in late 2014. They are currently signed on Polydor.

Career

Frankee Connolly was a part of Mini Viva until the duo's split in 2010, whereas Samuels and Ashcroft were both members of the girl band Duchess until 2012. M.O was formed in late 2012, after Connolly had met Samuels and Ashcroft at music industry events. The group's name originated from Drake’s "The Motto", which features the line "That’s my M.O add a B to that", and is short for Modus Operandi. M.O's initial aim was to bring old school 90s music back, naming J.Lo and TLC as an inspiration amongst others.

M.O made their debut as a band with a remix of Brandy and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine" on the YouTube channel SB.TV in 2012. At this point they received positive feedback from the music industry and were championed by the likes of Ed Sheeran. They followed up their debut on YouTube with their first promotional single "Wait Your Turn", which was followed by other releases in 2013, including "Ain’t Got Time" and "Hot".

Mort

Mort is a Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett. Published in 1987, it is the fourth Discworld novel and the first to focus on the character Death, who only appeared as a side character in the previous novels. The title is the name of its main character and also a play on words: in French, mort means "death", so the French language edition is titled Mortimer.

In the BBC's 2003 Big Read contest, viewers voted on the "Nation's Best-loved Book"; Mort was among the Top 100 and chosen as the most popular of Pratchett's novels.

Plot summary

As a teenager, Mort has a personality and temperament that makes him unsuited to the family farming business. Mort's father Lezek takes him to a local hiring fair in the hope that Mort will land an apprenticeship; not only would this provide a job for his son, but it would also make his son's propensity for thinking into someone else's problem.

At the job fair, Mort at first has no luck attracting the interest of an employer, but just before the stroke of midnight, a man wearing a black cloak arrives on a white horse, saying that he is looking for a young man to assist him in his work and selects Mort for the job. The man turns out to be Death, and Mort is given an apprenticeship in ushering souls into the next world (though his father thinks he's been apprenticed to an undertaker).

Zagrebački glazbenik i producent Mark Mrakovčić napisao je glazbu i aranžman pjesme, a tekst supotpisuje s pjevačicom Leom. Za singl je snimljen i spot za čiju je režiju zaslužna sama Lea Radolfi, kameru potpisuje Toni Mijač, a montažu njih dvoje. "Spot se snimao u Dugopolju u kojem smo se "smrznuli". Auto iz kojeg se snimalo je "riknuo" tri puta i na snimanju nam ništa nije išlo na ruku. Na kraju smo čak snimanje završili kod splitskog zatvora. Ali na kraju smo jako zadovoljni sa spotom i nadam se da smo uhvatili atmosferu pjesme", prokomentirala je Lea. Na albumu "27" većinu tekstova napisala je Lea Lucija Radolfi, dok glazbu i aranžmane supotpisuju svi članovi benda. Album krasi i obrada pjesme "Bez tebe" zagrebačkog punk benda Mikrofonija, za koju je glazbu i stihove napisao prerano preminuli Antun Krajinović Tuna, legenda domaće underground scene. Kao gosti na albumu pojavljuju se John (M.O.R.T.) i Damjan Spajić (Kinoklub, Declaration). Glazbeni materijal je snimljen u Chicken Sound Studiu pod producentskom palicom Vedrana Kovačića Belog i Marka Mrakovčića, a za sjajan master pobrinuo se Goran Martinac. Likovno oblikovanje albuma članovi benda povjerili su Borni Obranoviću koji je sjajnim dizajnom odlično odrazio sadržaj albuma. U mrak ft. John (M.O.R.T.)
