Saudi Arabia (i/ˌsɔːdiː əˈreɪbiə/, i/ˌsaʊ-/), officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is an Arab state in Western Asia constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. With a land area of approximately 2,150,000 km2 (830,000 sq mi), Saudi Arabia is geographically the second-largest state in the Arab world after Algeria. Saudi Arabia is bordered by Jordan and Iraq to the north, Kuwait to the northeast, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, and Yemen to the south. It is the only nation with both a Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast, and most of its terrain consists of arid inhospitable desert or barren landforms.
The area of modern-day Saudi Arabia formerly consisted of four distinct regions: Hejaz, Najd, and parts of Eastern Arabia (Al-Ahsa) and Southern Arabia ('Asir). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded in 1932 by Ibn Saud. He united the four regions into a single state through a series of conquests beginning in 1902 with the capture of Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud. The country has since been an absolute monarchy, effectively a hereditary dictatorship governed along Islamic lines. The ultra-conservative Wahhabism religious movement within Sunni Islam has been called "the predominant feature of Saudi culture", with its global spreading largely financed by the oil and gas trade. Saudi Arabia is sometimes called "the Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (in Medina), the two holiest places in Islam. The Kingdom has a total population of 28.7 million, of which 20 million are Saudi nationals and 8 million are foreigners.

North Korea ( listen), officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK; Chosŏn'gŭl: 조선민주주의인민공화국; hancha: 朝鮮民主主義人民共和國; MR: Chosŏn Minjujuŭi Inmin Konghwaguk), is a country in East Asia, in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. The name Korea is derived from the Kingdom of Goguryeo, also spelled as Koryŏ. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang. North Korea shares a land border with China to the north and northwest, along the Amnok (Yalu) and Tumen rivers, and a small section of the Tumen River also forms a border with Russia to the northeast. The Korean Demilitarized Zone marks the boundary between North Korea and South Korea.
Korea was annexed by the Empire of Japan in 1910. After the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II in 1945, Korea was divided into two zones by the United States and the Soviet Union, with the north occupied by the Soviets and the south by the Americans. Negotiations on reunification failed, and in 1948 two separate governments were formed: the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the north, and the Republic of Korea in the south. An invasion initiated by North Korea led to the Korean War (1950–53). Although the Korean Armistice Agreement brought about a ceasefire, no official peace treaty was ever signed. Both states were accepted into the United Nations in 1991.

The Economist is an English language weekly newspaper owned by the Economist Group and edited in offices based in London. Continuous publication began under founder James Wilson in September 1843. For historical reasons, The Economist refers to itself as a newspaper, but each print edition appears on small glossy paper like a news magazine. In 2006, its average weekly circulation was reported to be 1.5 million, about half of which were sold in the United States.
The publication belongs to The Economist Group. It is 50% owned by private investors and 50% by Exor, the Agnelli holding company, and the Rothschild banking family of England. Exor and the Rothschilds are represented on the Board of Directors. A board of trustees formally appoints the editor, who cannot be removed without its permission. Although The Economist has a global emphasis and scope, about two-thirds of the 75 staff journalists are based in the City of Westminster, London. As of March 2014, the Economist Group declared operating profit of £59m. Previous major shareholders include Pearson PLC.

Driving is illegal for women in Saudi Arabia. Meet Manal Al Sharif, the woman who broke that law, went to prison for it and fled the country, all in the name of gender equality. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where a woman can go to prison for driving a car. Manal Al Sharif dared to break the law, on camera. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia practices an extreme interpretation of Islam that imposes harsh curbs on women. And despite the country having very limited public transport, women are not allowed to drive. But Manal al-Sharif decided to ta...

Bible teaching by Derek Prince. For many, the issue of women's place in the church is a topic fraught with confusion, misinformation and hurt feelings. What is the scriptural model to which we should conform?
Sexual violence against women is widespread in Egypt. Many women experience sexual harassment on a daily basis. What is being done to protect women? Despite their involvement in the Arab Spring, Egypt’s women reaped no benefits. Given the advances of Islamism and the entrenchment of the old state they have little or no chance of a self-determined life in terms of politics and sexuality, modernity and tradition. British-Egyptian journalist Natasha Wheatley embarks on her own personal journey through the land of the Nile. Natasha Wheatley delves deep into Egyptian society, where worlds collide and disputes over gender roles often divide entire families. In this social climate, people have trouble conducting relationships, while sexual harassment is an aspect of everyday life. To protect the...

Jared Taylor of American Renaissance interviews Lana Lokteff. The popular host of Red Ice TV notes that most women do not want the high-powered careers and masculine behavior that “feminists” push on them, and in their unhappiness they are discovering the more traditional and affirming positions of the Alt-Right. She describes the dynamics of racially conscious couples, the arguments that most appeal to women, and the way ahead for our movement and people. https://www.amren.com/ https://twitter.com/AmRenaissance
One of the most misunderstood ayat of the Quran is in Surah An-Nisaa. This is a classic example of how a passage, taken out of context leads to false claims against the word of Allah. In this khutbah, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan stresses that we can't read aya 34 without considering what came before and after it. He teaches us that the idea of a man's ‘qawama’ over a woman has nothing to do with authority and everything to do with being a constant caretaker and supporter of women. We only need to look at the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how he treated his wives to learn that hitting was never a part of it.

Since the socialist revolution, the rights of Chinese women have been written into the country's constitution. Under Mao, unprecedented numbers of women joined the workforce and they were celebrated as "iron girls." But now, China is home to a fifth of the world’s women whose status as equals is dwindling. Domestic violence rates in the country have soared, martial rape is not considered a crime, those who dare to call themselves feminist activists are being detained by the government, and unmarried women older than 27 are commonly referred to as "leftover women." To find out what lies behind the drastic shift in women’s social status in China, we track down feminist scholar and "iron girl" Wang Zheng and spend a day with one of China’s so-called leftover women. We also explore the extr...
