It is with great excitement, that we can officially announce Australia's premier psychedelic symposium, the Entheogenesis Australis (EGA) 2017 Outdoor Psychedelic Symposium. The Symposium will see EGA’s much-loved conference space transplanted to a beautiful state-of-the-art conference facility, located an easy 2 hour drive from Melbourne and positioned just 10km out of Eildon (VIC); nestled into a native bush mountain range on one side, and open to expansive views of the valley below. Tickets to the 2017 Psychedelic Symposium will include 3 days access to the 50+ lectures, workshops and panel discussions which make up this unique event, as well as an invitation to explore our immersive arts programming, market space and to strengthen connections at our complimentary community meal. The event will cover a diverse range of fields from the botanical, academic, and philosophical, to arts and drug law reform.

This world renowned conference will once again be placing a mature discussion around psychedelic related compounds back on the agenda.  The 2017 Psychedelic Symposium promises to be an incredible gathering, continuing EGA’s 15-year history of bringing together diverse experts and perspectives from across Australia and around the world, to discuss psychedelics and entheogenic plants – furthering this important field of study. EGA’s much-loved outdoor main conference space will return for 2017, supported by modern and professional indoor conference areas and adjoining facilities as well as access to the camping ground and accommodation options.

About Entheogenesis Australis:

For over a decade Entheogenesis Australis has provided a major meeting place for ethnobotanical enthusiasts and specialists in Australia to share information and form a natanal meeting point for the community. The aims of the EGA conference are to address the issues relating to drug use from social, cultural and traditional perspectives. Past conference programs have drawn on covered diverse topics including therapy, biology, pharmacology, psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, botany, visionary art, culture, politics, law and more, to provide a realistic context of the role drugs and altered states play in the modern world.

Altered states of consciousness have long been a fundamental part of human culture, and as our world becomes increasingly fast-paced, alternative modalities are becoming ever more significant and consciously explored. If you’ve ever asked yourself: “has the ‘war on drugs’ created more problems than it has tried to solve?” or “is MDMA really a more dangerous drug than alcohol?” – then EGA is the place for you.
