Yemen (i/ˈjɛmən/; Arabic: اليَمَن al-Yaman), officially known as the Republic of Yemen (الجمهورية اليمنية al-Jumhūrīyah al-Yamanīyah), is an Arab country in Western Asia, occupying the southwestern to the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. Yemen is the second largest country in the peninsula, occupying 527,970 km2 (203,850 sq mi). The coastline stretches for about 2,000 km (1,200 mi). It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north, the Red Sea to the west, the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea to the south, and Oman to the east. Although Yemen's constitutionally stated capital is the city of Sana'a, the city has been under rebel control since February 2015. Because of this, Yemen's capital has been temporarily relocated to the port city of Aden, on the southern coast. Yemen's territory includes more than 200 islands; the largest of these is Socotra.
Yemen was the home of the Sabaeans (biblical Sheba), a trading state that flourished for over a thousand years and probably also included parts of modern-day Ethiopia and Eritrea. In 275 AD, the region came under the rule of the later Jewish influenced Himyarite Kingdom. Christianity arrived in the 4th century AD whereas Judaism and local paganism were already established. Islam spread quickly in the 7th century and Yemenite troops were crucial in the expansion of the early Islamic conquests. Administration of Yemen has long been notoriously difficult. Several dynasties emerged from the 9th to 16th century, the Rasulid being the strongest and most prosperous. The country was divided between the Ottoman and British empires in the early 20th century. The Zaydi Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen was established after World War I in North Yemen before the creation of Yemen Arab Republic in 1962. South Yemen remained a British protectorate until 1967. The two Yemeni states united to form the modern republic of Yemen in 1990.
A filling station is a facility that sells fuel and engine lubricants for motor vehicles. The most common fuels sold in the 2010s are gasoline (gasoline or gas in the U.S. and Canada, generally petrol elsewhere) and diesel fuel. A filling station that sells only electric energy is also known as a charging station, while a typical filling station can also be known as a fuelling station, garage (South Africa and United Kingdom), gasbar (Canada), gas station (United States and Canada), petrol pump or petrol bunk (India), petrol garage, petrol station (Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and United Kingdom), service station (Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom), a services (United Kingdom), or servo (Australia).
Fuel dispensers are used to pump petrol/gasoline, diesel, CNG, CGH2, HCNG, LPG, LH2, kerosene, alcohol fuel (like ethanol, methanol, butanol, propanol), biofuels (like straight vegetable oil, biodiesel), or other types of fuel into the tanks within vehicles and calculate the financial cost of the fuel transferred to the vehicle. Fuel dispensers are also known as bowsers (in some parts of Australia),petrol pumps (in most Commonwealth countries) or gas pumps (in North America). Besides fuel dispensers, one other device that is noteworthy and is also found in filling stations and can refuel certain (compressed-air) vehicles is the air compressor, although generally they are used to just inflate car tyres. Also, many filling stations also have a convenience store, which tend to have power plugs (like most other buildings). Plug-in electric vehicles can hence also be recharged there.
Yemen LNG (also called YLNG) is the first 'natural gas liquefaction (LNG) project in Yemen. The LNG plant is located in Balhaf.
Yemen LNG Company was incorporated in 1995 to develop the LNG plant. In 1997, the development was halted because of the Asian economic crisis. The project was launched only in August 2005 after signing three LNG supply contracts. On 29 October 2007, Yemen LNG and Yemen state-owned oil and gas company Safer Exploration and Production agreed a 20-year contract, according to which Safer grants the LNG plant with supply up to 12.5 billion cubic meter (bcm) of gas per year from the Block 18 of the Marib-Jawf field. The production started on 15 October 2009.
The project comprises upstream gas processing facilities including a transfer line linking processing units, a spur-line for transporting gas to the Ma'bar area and a 320 kilometres (200 mi), 38 inches (970 mm) pipeline connecting the gas processing facilities to the LNG plant. The plant consists of two LNG trains with the total capacity of 6.7 million tonnes per year. The contractors for the construction of LNG trains were Technip, JGC, and Kellogg Brown & Root. The project is one of the country's first big project financing with total cost of US$4 billion, involving US$3 billion in debt being raised from a syndicate of banks.Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, BNP Paribas, Citigroup, ING Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Société Générale, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation are the initial mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners on a loan.
Gas is one of the four fundamental states of matter (the others being solid, liquid, and plasma). A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas like neon), elemental molecules made from one type of atom (e.g. oxygen), or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms (e.g. carbon dioxide). A gas mixture would contain a variety of pure gases much like the air. What distinguishes a gas from liquids and solids is the vast separation of the individual gas particles. This separation usually makes a colorless gas invisible to the human observer. The interaction of gas particles in the presence of electric and gravitational fields are considered negligible as indicated by the constant velocity vectors in the image. One type of commonly known gas is steam.
The gaseous state of matter is found between the liquid and plasma states, the latter of which provides the upper temperature boundary for gases. Bounding the lower end of the temperature scale lie degenerative quantum gases which are gaining increasing attention. High-density atomic gases super cooled to incredibly low temperatures are classified by their statistical behavior as either a Bose gas or a Fermi gas. For a comprehensive listing of these exotic states of matter see list of states of matter.

With the continuation of the Saudi airstrikes on Yemen, the humanitarian situation further deteriorates and people are bracing for a worst case scenario. Long queues of gas stations like this at the heart of the capital Sana’a can be seen everywhere in the country. Many of those queuing at the gas station are in desperate need for fuel as they rely on their cars to make a living. Hussien who used to go around the city on his pickup selling household products, has lost his sole livelihood. The unprecedented shortage of gas also made many car drivers to abandon their vehicles and walk on foot rather than queuing on the longest ever lines of cars before the gas stations. The situation has also led to long queues for basic food accommodation. Many observers say the tight economic ban on Yem...

Suspected al-Qaeda gunmen killed five soldiers guarding a gas plant in a southern province of Yemen. US embassies across the Muslim and Arab world reopened after a terror threat emanating from the region, but the embassy in the Yemenese capital Sanaa remained closed on Sunday.
Yemen's liquefied natural gas company has shut down production due to the worsening security situation in the country, as a Saudi-led airstrike campaign targets Shiite rebels. The company, whose main shareholder is French oil giant Total SA, declared a shut down Tuesday. The company's plant is located in Balhaf in the oil-rich central Shabwa province. Shiite rebels, allied with units from the military, have made territorial gains in the province, seizing its capital last week. http://feeds.foxnews.com/~r/foxnews/world/~3/rfjULAA2Y3o/ http://www.wochit.com

Islam still plays an important role in the daily cultural life of the people, including the traditional market places that are almost exclusively a male domain. The Yemenis consider themselves the "original" Arabs from whom all the other Arabs are descended. Indeed according to ancient scriptures,Quran and some suggestive statements in the Talmud there is evidence of this. In ancient Yemen, named by the ancient Romans "Arabia Felix" ;Happy Arabia, there were 6 principal kingdoms: the Sabaean, Awsanian, Minaean, Qatabanian, Hadhramawtian, Himyarite. Sabaean was the oldest and one of the most powerful. Saba in Hebrew is "Sheba". Thus the fabled Queen of Sheba came from Sabaean kingdom. Queens in Arabia were common, and both the Bible and Quran refer to the Queen of Sheba whose real name was Bilquis! Sana'a, the capital, is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Socotra, a group of islands in the Indian Ocean has been a secluded territory for decades. The island is about 250 kilometres from Somalia and approximately 340 kilometres from the mainland of Yemen. Presently it is a part of the Republic of Yemen and due to its harsh weather conditions every element on the island is distinctive in itself. It is believed that the name of the island originated from Sanskrit which means “blissful island.” It is often regarded as the “lost world” and houses some of the most unique flora and fauna found on this planet. It is believed that the group of islands got separated from the African Mainland about 6 or 7 million years ago. With more discoveries and exploration taking place, remarkable facts about this place has been revealed over the past couple of...

Counting the Cost - The future of oil jobs in the Middle East The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and 11 other oil-producing nations have extended oil production cuts until March 2018 in an attempt to drain the global oversupply of oil and prop up the price of crude. Saudi Arabia led the push to extend the curbs, but oil prices have risen less than OPEC countries have hoped for. And that's because oil at current prices is enough to bring US producers back into the market. What will OPEC's production cut extension mean for energy jobs in the region? Britain ruled Yemen for decades, followed by a dictator, ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, backed by the US and Saudi Arabia, who ruled Yemen until his ouster in 2011 through a revolution. This only meant that Yemenis did not get a fair share of their countries wealth. Yemen's economy has been battered by war and dictatorial rule, although the country possesses an immense economic potential. Aside from its oil and gas reserves, although dwindling, the country possesses honey, coffee, and a vast fishing industry. For example, Yemen's extensive territorial waters and marine resources have the potential to produce 840,000 tons of fish each year. Yet those industries are controlled by either the tribal elites or close associates of the palace, with no financial support by the government.
