Stade

Stade (German pronunciation: [ˈʃtaːdə]) is a city in Lower Saxony, Germany and part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region (Metropolregion Hamburg). It is the seat of the district named after it. The city was first mentioned in a document from 994.

It includes the urban districts of Bützfleth, Hagen, Haddorf and Wiepenkathen which have a district council ("Ortsrat") of their own with some autonomous decision making rights.

Stade is located on the lower Elbe river (Lower Elbe) and the German Timber-Frame Road.

History

The first human settlers came to the Stade area in 30,000 BC.

Since 1180 Stade belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In early 1208 King Valdemar II of Denmark and his troops conquered Stade. In August Valdemar II's cousin being in enmity with the king, the then Prince-Archbishop Valdemar reconquered the city only to lose it soon after again to Valdemar II. In 1209 Emperor Otto IV persuaded his ally Valdemar II to withdraw into the north of the Elbe, and the deposed Prince-Archbishop Valdemar took Stade.

Stade Rennais F.C.

Stade Rennais Football Club (French pronunciation: ​[stɑd ʁɛ.nɛ]; commonly referred to as Stade Rennais, SRFC, or simply Rennes) is a French association football club based in Rennes. The club was founded in 1901 and currently plays in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. Rennes plays its home matches at the Roazhon Park located within the city. The team is managed by Rolland Courbis and captained by defender Romain Danzé. The team's president is René Ruello and its owner is Artémis, the holding company of businessman François Pinault.

Rennes was founded in 1901 under the name Stade Rennais and is one of the founding members of the first division of French football. Alongside FC Nantes, Rennes is one of the top football clubs in the region and the two are among the main clubs that contest the Derby Breton. The club's best finish in the league has been 4th with the club accomplishing this feat on four occasions; most recently in the 2006–07 season. Rennes have won two Coupe de France titles in 1965 and 1971. After winning the Coupe de France in 1971, Rennes changed its name to its current version.

Stade de France

The Stade de France (French pronunciation: ​[stad də fʁɑ̃s]) is the national stadium of France, situated just north of Paris in the commune of Saint-Denis. Its seating capacity of 81,338 makes it the fifth-largest stadium in Europe. The stadium is used by both the France national football team and French rugby union team for international competition. Originally built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the stadium's name was recommended by Michel Platini, head of the organising committee. On 12 July 1998, France defeated Brazil 3–0 in the 1998 FIFA World Cup Final contested at the stadium.

Stade de France is listed as a Category 4 stadium by UEFA and has hosted matches for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League finals in 2000 and 2006, some matches for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, and the 2007 Rugby World Cup, making it the only stadium in the world to have hosted both a Football World Cup final and a Rugby World Cup final. The facility also hosted the Race of Champions auto race in 2004, 2005, and 2006. The stadium hosted the 2003 World Championships in Athletics and since 1999 it has hosted the annual Meeting Areva athletics meet. It will also host some matches at UEFA Euro 2016, including the final.

Angers SCO

Angers Sporting Club de l'Ouest (commonly referred to as Angers SCO or simply Angers) is a French association football club based in Angers. The club was founded in 1919 and currently play in Ligue 1, the first division of French football, having achieved promotion to the league in 2015 after 21 years. It plays its home matches at the Stade Jean-Bouin. The club has played 23 seasons in the top division, Ligue 1, and have also participated in the UEFA Cup after finishing 4th in 1971–72 season.

History

This team was founded in 1919, which was the same year that the FFF was founded.

During this team's history, this team had bounced between the top two tiers on multiple occasions. However, this team did spent time in the third tier on several times, where the 2006-07 season was its last season in the tier.

The first season that Angers debuted in the second division in France was in 1945. In this season, Angers SCO was placed in the North group, at that time, the second division was split into two group, the North and South. Angers finished third, being seven points short to Stade Fran, who was promoted to the first division.

Rennes

Rennes (French: [ʁɛn]; French: Rennes, Gallo: Resnn, Breton: Roazhon, Latin: Condate, Civitas Redonum) is a city in the east of Brittany in northwestern France at the confluence of the Ille and the Vilaine. Rennes is the capital of the region of Brittany, as well as the Ille-et-Vilaine department.

Rennes's history goes back more than 2,000 years, at a time when it was a small Gallic village named Condate. Together with Vannes and Nantes, it was one of the major cities of the historic province of Brittany and the ancient Duchy of Brittany. After the French Revolution, Rennes remained for most of its history a parliamentary, administrative and garrison city of the Kingdom of France.

Since the 1950s, Rennes has grown in importance through rural flight and its modern industrial development (automotive). The city developed extensive building plans to accommodate upwards of 200,000 inhabitants. During the 1980s, Rennes became one of the main centres in telecommunication and high technology industry. It is now a significant digital innovation centre in France.
