UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a Memorandum of Understanding aiming to provide framework for formalization and strengthening cooperation.
Steps that need to be taken in order to make Bosnia and Herzegovina mine free by 2025 were in the focus of the Board of Donors Meeting held on the 13th of November 2017 by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Demining Commission in BiH and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center (BHMAC), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Within the UNDP Vrbas project, funded by the GEF, the Law on Water of Republika Srpska is aligned with the EU Floods Directive, which defines the method of flood risk assessment and management in order to reduce the harmful effects that floods pose to humans, economic activity and the environment.

Socio-economic perceptions of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The research on BiH youth’s socio-economic perceptions was conducted with the aim of examining their views and experiences on a wide range of current issues, including on employment and job markets, political awareness and activism, mobility and EU accession. It was commissioned under the framework of the global EU-funded, UNDP-implemented project on „Building and Consolidating Capacities for Conflict Prevention“.
100 projects implemented and improved quality of life for 100,000 citizens
More than 200 local community forums held, 76 infrastructure projects and 34 social inclusion projects, 125 premises of local communities modernised, seven social centres opened, and countless trainings for local community representatives are but few deliverables of the project Strengthening the Role of Local Communities/Mjesne Zajednice (MZs) in BiH. During only one year of its implementation, the project had an impact on the quality of life of more than 100,000 citizens in BiH, of which 40,000 women.
Kupres Cheese Seizes Local Market
Canton 10 is among the poorest regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with high unemployment rate, especially among the returnees and vulnerable groups. Small farmers from dispersed region of Kupres faced many challenges in selling their products, due to the distance from the markets and the difficult production conditions. Families who produce milk and dairy were particularly affected. Under the programme which UN agencies implement in Canton 10, small dairy producers are getting much needed help.
