Afghanistan i/æfˈɡænᵻstæn/ (Pashto/Dari: افغانستان, Afġānistān), officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located within South Asia and Central Asia. It has a population of approximately 32 million, making it the 42nd most populous country in the world. It is bordered by Pakistan in the south and east; Iran in the west; Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in the north; and China in the far northeast. Its territory covers 652,000 km2 (252,000 sq mi), making it the 41st largest country in the world.
Human habitation in Afghanistan dates back to the Middle Paleolithic Era, and the country's strategic location along the Silk Road connected it to the cultures of the Middle East and other parts of Asia. Through the ages the land has been home to various peoples and witnessed numerous military campaigns; notably by Alexander the Great, Muslim Arabs, Mongols, British, Soviet Russians, and in the modern-era by Western powers. The land also served as the source from which the Kushans, Hephthalites, Samanids, Saffarids, Ghaznavids, Ghorids, Khiljis, Mughals, Hotaks, Durranis, and others have risen to form major empires.
A filling station is a facility that sells fuel and engine lubricants for motor vehicles. The most common fuels sold in the 2010s are gasoline (gasoline or gas in the U.S. and Canada, generally petrol elsewhere) and diesel fuel. A filling station that sells only electric energy is also known as a charging station, while a typical filling station can also be known as a fuelling station, garage (South Africa and United Kingdom), gasbar (Canada), gas station (United States and Canada), petrol pump or petrol bunk (India), petrol garage, petrol station (Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and United Kingdom), service station (Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom), a services (United Kingdom), or servo (Australia).
Fuel dispensers are used to pump petrol/gasoline, diesel, CNG, CGH2, HCNG, LPG, LH2, kerosene, alcohol fuel (like ethanol, methanol, butanol, propanol), biofuels (like straight vegetable oil, biodiesel), or other types of fuel into the tanks within vehicles and calculate the financial cost of the fuel transferred to the vehicle. Fuel dispensers are also known as bowsers (in some parts of Australia),petrol pumps (in most Commonwealth countries) or gas pumps (in North America). Besides fuel dispensers, one other device that is noteworthy and is also found in filling stations and can refuel certain (compressed-air) vehicles is the air compressor, although generally they are used to just inflate car tyres. Also, many filling stations also have a convenience store, which tend to have power plugs (like most other buildings). Plug-in electric vehicles can hence also be recharged there.
Pakistan (Hindi: पाकिस्तान, Urdu: پاکِستان) is a village in the Purnia district of Bihar, India. The village was named "Pakistan" in the memory of the Muslim residents who migrated in 1947 to what was then called East Pakistan. At the time the district bordered East Pakistan.
Prior to 1947 Purnia district was part of the Nepal Province of British India; in August of that year colonial India was partitioned into two states, the Dominion of Pakistan and the Dominion of India.
As Purnia lay adjacent to East Pakistan many Muslims left to migrate there, and the inhabitants of the village renamed it Pakistan after the Muslims who had left. Prior to the States Reorganisation Act of 1956, the district of Purnia bordered East Pakistan; afterwards Islampur subdivision was awarded to West Bengal. Before leaving the Muslims had handed over their property to Hindus of the neighbouring areas.
Relations between Pakistan and India have historically been turbulent. The events surrounding the partition of 1947 have involved millions of refugees fleeing in either direction to escape violence. In addition, since independence from Britain, the two nations have fought several wars. However, according to the villagers they do not want a war between the two nations and wish to spread the "message of peace and brotherhood".

The U.S. Department of Defense spent nearly $43 million on a gas station in northern Afghanistan and has been unable to explain why it cost so much, a U.S. special inspector reported on Monday. The Pentagon “charged the American taxpayers $43 million for what is likely to be the world’s most expensive gas station,” said John Sopko, head of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, a congressionally mandated body. The amount was spent between 2011 and 2014 on construction and initial implementation of the station. The gas station in Sheberghan, Afghanistan opened in 2012 and was created to show that compressed natural gas could be used in Afghanistan in cars effectively. However, the task force behind the project closed operations in March and for that reason, accordi...
An insight into the emergence of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) as an alternative fuel source for motorised vehicles in Afghanistan. LPG conversion on vehicles, after an initial outlay, can bring huge cost saving benefits to motorists and drastically reduce emissions and particulates being pushed into the air. Especially popular in Jalalabad, where a huge number of three-wheeled motorbike taxis or "tuk tuks" have undergone conversion, specialist outlets providing LPG to motorists have sprung up across the province.

Afghanistan is estimated to have $3 trillion worth of mineral deposits, which through years of insecurity have remained unexploited. Gold, iron ore, copper ore, emeralds, lapis, rubies as well as natural gas are all found in the north of the country. Now with help from advisors from the US Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO), the Afghanistan Geological Survey is gaining the skills it needs to explore and exploit the country's resources. Geologists and drillers are being trained to investigate sites to test for the presence of resources.

The Door to Hell is a natural gas field in Derweze (also spelled Darvaza, meaning "gate"), Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. The Door to Hell is noted for its natural gas fire which has been burning continuously since it was lit by Soviet petrochemical scientists in 1971, fed by the rich natural gas deposits in the area. The pungent smell of burning sulfur pervades the area for some distance. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Door_to_Hell

Because why not? A fire erupted while tanker trucks were fueling a gas station in the Nowabad Demazang area of Kabul. Flooding from recent rains and poor road drainage systems had complicated emergency response efforts, but eyewitnesses claimed that the fire department and various police and army agencies responded quickly. Although the fire was spreading uncontrolled on top of the flood water and flared up several times, responding emergency services - in spite of what appears in this video to be “then not knowing what they are doing” - were able to contain the flames.

The Geopolitical Significance of Afghanistan Afghanistan is the world's 42nd-largest country and has an area of 250,000 square miles. Throughout its history, Afghanistan has been subject to intervention by external powers. Afghanistan is a land-locked region. It borders with China, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Tajikistan. The northern and southern portion of Afghanistan is divided by the massive Hindu Kush mountain ranges. The Pamir Mountains to the northeast (the roof of the world) are the junction between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and China. In the east, the passes in Suleiman mountain range like the famous Khyber Pass have provided access to the Indian subcontinent. The country’s forbidding landscape of deserts and mountains has laid many imperial ambitions to rest....

I was so excited for the opportunity to travel to Afghanistan. I traveled here alone in February of 2016 as a solo female American traveler. Though my primary objective was go skiing on their vast mountains (they apparently have some great slopes), I settled on exploring Kabul city, which immersed me in their culture and way of life. I'd go back to Afghanistan in a heartbeat. The people here are kind, just living their lives and the majority of them do like Americans. So, let's be kind to one another. The security situation in Afghanistan has been deteriorating over the last two years. In particular, several northern provinces have been under pressure from various militant groups. In some cases, battles between government and militant groups occurred close to Afghanistan’s border with the Central Asian states. In others, anti-government groups from inside Afghanistan attacked border regions of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. With growing instability in the northern parts of Afghanistan, Central Asian concerns are growing. What are risks from Afghanistan for Central Asia? And what are the responses of neighboring Central Asian states to these risks?
This is an informative and coherent documentary that exposes the hidden truth that you will never or very rarely get to see in the mainstream media. It has to do with the rule of secrecy behind the scenes of world politics, that has been steadily working on a covert plan to dominate the world and rule over us all without our consent. The world needs to wake up to this reality before it's too late. 0:00 Open your Eyes 7:20 One World Government/New World Order 11:15 Who Really is in Control? 21:07 Economic Slavery to the Elite 36:00 Satanism &Occultism; 1:40:04 The Truth about 911 2:04:02 War on Afghanistan 2:19:50 War on Iraq 2:54:51 War = Profit 3:00:19 Depopulation Agenda 3:22:55 Global (Electronic) Currency 3:25:13 RFID Micro Chip 3:31:48 Big B...

With the withdrawal of NATO/US combat forces from Afghanistan set to occur by the end of the year, Afghanistan’s immediate and near neighbours will have a greater impact on its stability and security. This has already affected the dynamics in Central Asia and Russia, with countries re-examining existing security structures and priorities and voicing the need for greater cooperation. But tensions and differences among these states will preclude, for the time being, any real attempt at regional cooperation. Two of Afghanistan’s most influential neighbours, Pakistan and Iran, have differing perspectives on Afghanistan’s future. India–Pakistan border tensions and rivalry make any bilateral political consensus extremely difficult to attain. Regional ‘non-interference’ in Afghanistan’s affairs...

In this episode of the Now Debate, recorded just hours after the news broke that United States President Donald Trump announced he had dropped a MOAB or Mother of all bombs on Isis in Afghanistan, just weeks after the poison gas attacks in Syria, which have gone without investigation and met with a response of 50 Tomahawk Missiles.
