Ageing (British English) or aging (American English) is the process of becoming older. In the narrow sense, the term refers to biological ageing of human beings, animals and other organisms. In the broader sense, ageing can refer to single cells within an organism (cellular ageing) or to the population of a species (population ageing).
In humans, ageing represents the accumulation of changes in a human being over time, encompassing physical, psychological, and social change. Reaction time, for example, may slow with age, while knowledge of world events and wisdom may expand. Ageing is among the greatest known risk factors for most human diseases: of the roughly 150,000 people who die each day across the globe, about two thirds die from age-related causes.
The causes of ageing are unknown; current theories are assigned to the damage concept, whereby the accumulation of externally induced damage (such as DNA point mutations) may cause biological systems to fail, or to the programmed ageing concept, whereby internal processes (such as DNA telomere shortening) may cause ageing.
CBS News Sunday Morning is an American newsmagazine television program that has aired on CBS since January 28, 1979. Created by Robert Northshield and original host Charles Kuralt, the 90-minute program currently airs Sundays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Eastern, Pacific Time from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in all other time zones (live in the Eastern & Central time zones, and on tape delay elsewhere). The current host of the program is Charles Osgood, who took over duties from Kuralt upon his retirement on April 3, 1994, and has since surpassed Kuralt's tenure as host. Substitute anchors for Osgood include CBS correspondents Lee Cowan, Anthony Mason, Charlie Rose and Jane Pauley.
The program was originally conceived to be a broadcast version of a Sunday newspaper magazine supplement, most typified by the Sunday New York Times Magazine. The format was conceived as the Sunday equivalent of the CBS Morning News, which following Sunday Morning's debut was retitled to reflect each day of the week (such as Monday Morning, Tuesday Morning, etc.).
Sunday Morning or Sunday Mornin' may refer to:
Michio Kaku (/ˈmiːtʃioʊ ˈkɑːkuː/; born January 24, 1947) is a Japanese-American futurist, theoretical physicist and popularizer of science. Kaku is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the City College of New York. He has written several books about physics and related topics, has made frequent appearances on radio, television, and film, and writes online blogs and articles. He has written three New York Times Best Sellers: Physics of the Impossible (2008), Physics of the Future (2011), and The Future of the Mind (2014). Kaku has hosted several TV specials for the BBC, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, and the Science Channel.
Kaku was born in San Jose, California, to Japanese American parents. His father, born in California and educated in both Japan and the United States, was fluent in Japanese and English. Both his parents were interned in the Tule Lake War Relocation Center during World War II, where they met and where his older brother was born.
Life extension science, also known as anti-aging medicine, indefinite life extension, experimental gerontology, and biomedical gerontology, is the study of slowing down or reversing the processes of aging to extend both the maximum and average lifespan. Some researchers in this area, and "life extensionists", "immortalists" or "longevists" (those who wish to achieve longer lives themselves), believe that future breakthroughs in tissue rejuvenation, stem cells, regenerative medicine, molecular repair, gene therapy, pharmaceuticals, and organ replacement (such as with artificial organs or xenotransplantations) will eventually enable humans to have indefinite lifespans (agerasia) through complete rejuvenation to a healthy youthful condition.
The sale of putative anti-aging products such as nutrition, physical fitness, skin care, hormone replacements, vitamins, supplements and herbs is a lucrative global industry, with the US market generating about $50 billion of revenue each year. Some medical experts state that the use of such products has not been proven to affect the aging process and many claims regarding the efficacy of these marketed products have been roundly criticized by medical experts, including the American Medical Association.

(Submitted by Paul Cellura) Michio Kaku: Paul, Telomerase hit the headlines; however, I think we have to put it into perspective. It is not the fountain of youth; however, it is a significant breakthrough. We have to put it into a much larger perspective. First of all, we know that DNA is sort of like a shoelace. Internationally recognized for his research in the basic biology of aging and as a visionary committed to translating research discoveries into new ways of delaying, detecting, preventing and treating human aging and associated diseases. Aging research has recently identified a number of promising strategies that may slow human aging. Given that (1) 20% of humans on Earth will be over 60 in the near future, (2) aging is the biggest risk factor for the vast majority of chronic diseases that reduce quality of life in adults, and (3) effective therapies for aging are likely to prevent many chronic diseases simultaneously, I make the case that it is critical to test longevity strategies in human populations as soon as possible. @BKennedy_aging Dr. Brian Kennedy is internationally recogni...

Many people wish if they could stop the process of aging and live younger for whole life but still we havent’t found any method or medicine which could stop the process of aging. Question: Do you think the enzyme Telomerase could be used to reverse the aging process in our lifetime? (Submitted by Paul Cellura) Michio Kaku: Paul, Telomerase hit the headlines; however, I think we have to put it into perspective. It is not the fountain of youth; however, it is a significant breakthrough. We have to put it into a much larger perspective. First of all, we know that DNA is sort of like a shoelace. It has plastic tips at the end. Every time a cell reproduces, the tips get shorter and shorter and shorter until finall...

Dr. Nikolich-Zugich is, Professor and Department Head of Immunobiology; Co-Director, Arizona Center on Aging, at the University of Arizona. Abstract: All organisms age, but we really do not have a clear explanation how and why. Do we have to grow old? Can we identify processes that can impact aging of particular parts of our bodies or, even better, of our entire bodies? Where do we stand with anti-aging interventions? This lecture will address theories of aging, emphasizing those that show most potential promise. The incredible promise of research on aging to extend healthspan and lifespan will be contrasted with the vast and unregulated world of anti-...

[Music: Valnes/Eviga, Lyrics: Eviga]
Was zieht her von welken Nächten ?
Fühl' nun selbst, was diese Dir brächten,
Was sie Dir bringen ... sie schon brachten.
[Das Ich nimmt wahr]
Stummes Dunkelsehen ... stolpernder Dunkelblick ...
[Die Natur vernimmt dies selbst]
Ein menschähnlicher Riß in welker Nacht Gewand ...
[Ich]
Tapfere Töne tummeln sich ... in dunkelwellenden Unbehagen ...
Schattengroße Schwebeklänge ...
[Natur]
Ein menschähnlicher Lauschepflock ...
In welker Nächte Schlummertanz...
[Ich]
Blauschwere Süße ... gekostete Traumschleier ...
[Natur]
Ein menschleiser Sog in welker Nächte Himmelhauch ...
[Ich]
Nahegleitende Lauerlüfte ... hautzüngelnde Schlotterschergen ...
Knochenströmendes Kältewehen ...
[Natur]
Ein menschähnlicher Zittersplitter in welker Nächte grauem Wind ...
[Das Ich erkennt]
"Ich bin fassende Ungeduld
Und oft erdachtes Zögern.
Sagbar Ich,
Ein Mensch von welker Nacht Gestalt,
