A trip to the London Film Museum. Featuring some fantastic original and rare props and costumes from some of the biggest films of all time.
EYE is the national museum for film, located on Amsterdam’s IJ harbor and manages more than 40.000 films from all genres.
For information on currently running films and exhibitions, please check: www.eyefilm.nl
The building is open ‘from 11 to 11’ every day for anyone who is interested in film and film culture. Our visitors are welcome in four cinemas, an exhibition space, a floor dedicated to educational activities, a store, and a bar-restaurant.
EYE's collection represents an outstanding sample of film history, from classics and blockbusters to cult films. But EYE does not only focus on the past: it also closely follows the latest developments in film by organizing new acquisitions, programmes, and debates.
EYE is internationally acclaimed for its knowledge of and expertise in the field of film restoration, research, and education. The organization has 165 employees who do their very best to make everything you would want to know about film easily accessible. For young and old, for film enthusiasts and professionals, and from constantly changing perspectives, EYE focuses on film as an art form, as entertainment, and as part of digital visual culture.

and in Amsterdam the Eye Nederlandse Filminstitut attracts visitors from all over Netherlands and it's neighboured countries. The iconic architecture and the space at the waterfront surroundig it work as attractive town development. People cross the waterway Ij by free ferries from the central station. Amsterdam discovers it's site at the Ij, from which it was seperated since decades by large traffic ways working as barriers. Amsterdam is alive at it's new discovered waterfront.

Ursprünglich mal Orangerie und später königlicher Pferdestall gewesen, beherbergt der „Marstall" schon seit 1981 alles Wissenswerte zur Filmgeschichte von Potsdam-Babelsberg. Zum 300. Geburtstag von Friedrich dem Großen gibt hier es noch bis März 2013 die Sonderausstellung „Der falsche Fritz -- Friedrich II. im Film" zu sehen.

EYE Film Institute Netherlands
EYE Film Institute Netherlands is a Dutch archive and museum in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands. The museum collection includes 37,000 film titles, 60,000 posters, 700,000 photographs and 20,000 books. The earliest materials date from the start of the film industry in the Netherlands in 1895.
Location and history
EYE is located in the Overhoeks neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It includes a cinematography museum formerly called Filmmuseum, founded in 1952. Its predecessor was the Dutch Historical Film Archive, founded in 1946. The Filmmuseum was situated in the Vondelparkpaviljoen since 1975, but in 2009, plans were announced for a new home on the north bank of Amsterdam's waterfront. It was officially opened on April 4, 2012 by Queen Beatrix. The EYE building was designed by Delugan Meissl architects, which specializes in buildings that appear to be in motion, e.g., the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

Ursprünglich mal Orangerie und später königlicher Pferdestall gewesen, beherbergt der „Marstall" schon seit 1981 alles Wissenswerte zur Filmgeschichte von Potsdam-Babelsberg. Zum 300. Geburtstag von Friedrich dem Großen gibt hier es noch bis März 2013 die Sonderausstellung „Der falsche Fritz -- Friedrich II. im Film" zu sehen.
