Jack was one of my students when I taught sophomore World History. He would come back to visit and let me know how he was doing. I still have a picture of him dressed up for Halloween. He went on to West Point and UCLA. He is now 23 and needs to find a bone marrow donor. It is so simple to get tested. A kit is sent to your home. You swab your cheek and mail it back. No blood draw! No leaving your home! No excuses!

Jack Chin, a 23 year old Cupertino native, and one of my wife's former students from her time teaching high school history, is dying of leukemia, and could need your immediate help. He needs a bone marrow transplant, and there is a race against time to find a match. Jack is now a UCLA student focused on economics and accounting, but the only thing that counts now is finding a donor. Not even his family and a fraternal twin brother is a match that he needs.
"Chin's case a match will most likely be Chinese. There are continual issues with finding enough Asian-American donors. Only about 7 percent of those on the national bone marrow registry are Asian."
