Pittsburgh (/ˈpɪtsbərɡ/ PITS-burg) is the second largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a population of 305,842 and the county seat of Allegheny County. The Combined Statistical Area (CSA) population of 2,659,937 is the largest in both the Ohio Valley and Appalachia and the 20th-largest in the U.S. Pittsburgh is known as both "the Steel City" for its more than 300 steel-related businesses, as well as "the City of Bridges" for its 446 bridges. The city features 30 skyscrapers, 2 inclines, a pre-revolutionary fortification and the source of the Ohio River at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers. This vital link of the Atlantic coast and Midwest through the mineral-rich Alleghenies made the area coveted by the French and British Empires, Virginia, Whiskey Rebels, Civil War raiders and media networks.
Aside from steel, Pittsburgh has led in aluminum, glass, shipbuilding, petroleum, foods, sports, transportation, computing, autos, and electronics. For much of the 20th century, Pittsburgh was behind only New York and Chicago in corporate headquarters employment, second to New York in bank assets and with the most U.S. stockholders per capita. America's 1980s deindustrialization laid off area blue-collar workers and thousands of downtown white-collar workers when the longtime Pittsburgh-based world headquarters of Gulf Oil, Sunbeam, Rockwell and Westinghouse moved. This heritage left the area with renowned museums, medical centers, parks, research centers, libraries, a diverse cultural district and the most bars per capita in the U.S. In 2015, Pittsburgh was named on a list of the "eleven most livable cities in the world."
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
The Steel City is a common nickname for many cities that were once known for their production of large amounts of steel. With industrial production also in developing countries, like those in Eastern Europe and Asia, most of these cities do not produce as much steel as they used to. It is possible there will be new steel cities in those developing countries.
Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; Pueblo, Colorado, United States; and Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia are the cities most commonly referred to with this name, in their respective countries.
Steel City is also the name of the primary setting in Jules Verne's novel The Begum's Fortune and is the location of the Titans East headquarters in the Teen Titans animated series.
I Am may refer to:
The New York Times (sometimes abbreviated to NYT) is an American daily newspaper, founded and continuously published in New York City since September 18, 1851, by the New York Times Company. It has won 117 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other news organization.
The paper's print version has the second-largest circulation, behind The Wall Street Journal, and the largest circulation among the metropolitan newspapers in the United States. It is ranked 39th in the world by circulation. Following industry trends, its weekday circulation has fallen to fewer than one million daily since 1990. Nicknamed for years as "The Gray Lady", The New York Times has long been regarded within the industry as a national "newspaper of record". It is owned by The New York Times Company. Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. – whose family (Ochs-Sulzberger) has controlled the paper for five generations, since 1896 – is both the paper's publisher and the company's chairman. Its international version, formerly the International Herald Tribune, is now called the International New York Times.

America's steel city was left for dead after the industry collapsed in the 1980s. Unemployment soared, the population plummeted and corporations fled. I made this Pittsburgh travel video after I spent a few hours exploring the Steel City. I only had a few hours to explore and walk around but I definitely want to head back and check out some more of what the City of Bridges has to offer. Apart from the lovely Point State Park and the modern business district I was able to enjoy some delicious Mexican food and there were so many quirky little cafes that I couldn't even decide which one to choose! Being from Ontario, Pennsylvania was quite surprising to me in regards to how nice it was and it's easy to see why Pittsburgh tourism is on the rise. Earlier this summer, I took a road trip with a few friends to the abandoned neighborhood of Lincoln Way, in Pittsburgh, PA. The history of Lincoln Way is unclear, but for some reason, several years ago, all of the twenty or so houses were vacated. The residents left behind nearly all their belongings. In this video, we hike up the street and explore as many of the houses as we are able to. Photos of the neighborhood taken by my friend Johnny Joo: http://architecturalafterlife.com/2015/01/27/the-eerie-abandoned-neighborhood-of-lincoln-way/
Guy Mitchell sings Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on his Prestige 20 Greatest Hits CD. I'm dedicating this to my grandparents who used to play this song on their phonograph. I loved this song and it made me a fan of Guy Mitchell.
Jon was sick so the concert only lasted for an hour and a half.
Let's take a look at this mysterious road that defies gravity in Pittsburgh. It is very intriguing and apparently nobody knows that such a strange road exists here. Towards the end of the video, I'll give you the exact address, and you can go check it out for yourself and may be take your friends and freak them out. We are sitting inside my car and the road is clearly going downhill. So, we take the car downhill and stop at this stop sign. Now, we put the car in neutral. But, when you take your feet of the gas and the brake - instead of moving forward, the car starts moving backwards. Why is the car going uphill on this road? And its starts accelerating so fast, we have to hit the brakes and stop the car! This is really hard to believe and some of you may even wonder if I am using came...

5 Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Pittsburgh, United States On the north-western Allegheny Plateau, at the point where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers join to form the Ohio, lies the city of Pittsburgh, surrounded by the wooded hills of the western Appalachians. The wealth of the city came from these hills: the coal mined here was the basis of a great steel industry which at one time produced half the total requirements of the United States. However, Pittsburgh is no longer the soot-encrusted coal and steel town of the past, but rather a metropolis with fine parks and gardens flanking the rivers and a modern city centre with established cultural institutions such as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Opera. Let's see five tourist attractions in Pittsburgh, Pennsyl...
