Important reflections

are chisel's editorials (and/or other writings) available anywhere online/print? i've found the perspective refreshing and honest and would like to read more.

and there's not any yet, but she'll consider compiling them when there are enough that she likes.

glad to hear it and will patiently look forward to them when/if they come! definitely will check out dot's writings too. am happy to see a number of them were recently added to the library.

the old-FRR-style banter with Rydra is good

the medium is the message. the podcast opens a portal into a diverse spectrum of thoughts and activities of people who care about the inequities and suffering in the world deriving from authoritarianism and who are committing their energies to building a better way.

this suggests common values based rather than common goals based community/organization.

indigenous anarchism is common values based. the values of restoring balance and harmony in self-other relations differs fundamentally from rallying people (through PR) to commit to a common goal of attaining a distant (at infinity) 'utopian vision' of how things should work. balance-and-harmony restoring/cultivating/sustaining common values have no dependency on good and evil moral judgements applied to behaviour as common purpose driven organization does. furthermore, it orients to the unfolding 'now' while the common purpose orientation sacrifices 'the now' to the common future vision [which never arrives since it lies at infinity].

the podcast has an influence which is more in the vein of common values than 'common purpose'. trying to explain anarchism in terms of 'what we hope to achieve' is met with rejection since it is impossible to conceive of breaking the stranglehold of the capitalist system. a shift in common values is far more feasible and can take hold immediately (in small informal groups anywhere/everywhere) and contribute steadily to a radically transformed society (more balanced and harmonious relational social dynamic.) there is no time wasted in waiting for membership to hit revolution-capable membership.

as soon as anarchism [or capitalism or socialism] is cast in terms of 'common purpose', with goals and objectives then comes the obligatory labour to make it happen that is enslavement along with moral judgement and political correctness.

common purpose leads to the forming of states and businesses [whether worker-owned or not] driven by self-interest and win/lose competition. this embodies the dualism in scientific thinking which ignores inhabitant-habitat nonduality [dualism wherein inhabitants are deemed separate from habitat implies independent of inhabitant and an infinite habitat]. our physically experienced intuitive reality, it is evident that monopolizing by some is at the same time impoverishing of our brothers [Mach's principle]. then comes the standing armies and security systems to protect the monopolized holdings of the 'haves' from the hungry hands of the 'have-nots' and their robin hood 'rebel' rebalancing actions induced by the relational tensions that are bundled into common purpose oriented organizational dynamics.

anarchism as a suite of non-typical common values 'comes across' in the podcast, without having to get into common purpose based organizing. this is better PR than attempts to articulate 'what anarchism is' [which anarchists do not agree on] and 'what are its 'aims and objectives' [which sound utopian and impossible and foolish and self-destructive to even attempt].

PR and media are indirect and alienating from the start, in the sense that you can't talk to the people who are ranting about their ideas...but media in particular has the same benefit: the words floating around in your head can stimulate conversations with yourself. In a sound-byte style driven screen world, complexity is often mistaken with arrogance, and the anarchist intellectual crowd has this major PR problem, along with their own self-righteousness. Direct conversation is my favorite form of communication because there is more "data" present, and are more invigorating.

And, to say something that everyone already knows, there are a lot of ties between media, private property, and control.

"Author: In order to describe the world, he puts himself under house arrest"

I work in a worker owned business. Its less shitty than normal jobs.

if you're comfortable revealing, what do you do at this business? is there anything particular about it that you think makes it better? (some friends and I are thinking of starting one)

LBC is a worker owned business?

I thought we were an autonomous collective.
