Reason is the capacity for consciously making sense of things, applying logic, establishing and verifying facts, and changing or justifying practices, institutions, and beliefs based on new or existing information. It is closely associated with such characteristically human activities as philosophy, science, language, mathematics, and art and is normally considered to be a definitive characteristic of human nature. The concept of reason is sometimes referred to as rationality and sometimes as discursive reason, in opposition to intuitive reason.
Reason or "reasoning" is associated with thinking, cognition, and intellect. Reason, like habit or intuition, is one of the ways by which thinking comes from one idea to a related idea. For example, it is the means by which rational beings understand themselves to think about cause and effect, truth and falsehood, and what is good or bad. It is also closely identified with the ability to self-consciously change beliefs, attitudes, traditions, and institutions, and therefore with the capacity for freedom and self-determination.
Dwane Marshall Weir II (born 1990) is an American hip hop record producer and songwriter, better known by his stage name Key Wane (stylized as KeY Wane). Wane has produced for artists such as Big Sean, Beyoncé, Drake, Wale, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Tyga, Ariana Grande, Rockie Fresh, Roscoe Dash, Logic and Meek Mill among others. Wane is signed to Big Sean's Finally Famous record label as a songwriter and producer. He is best known for producing Drake's "All Me", Beyoncé's "Partition", Meek Mill "Amen" and Big Sean's "Guap", "Beware" and an extensive amount of his Hall of Fame album.
At the age of 11 or 12 Key Wane first started playing the piano, initially teaching himself single-note melodies before his mom heard him and got involved in his learning. He would tell XXL, “She ordered me this Yamaha keyboard out of a JCPenney catalog. It got mailed to the house, and I just started making beats on it. Then I started taking piano lessons, and the stuff I learned from my piano lessons, I would combine that with beats, and it really was just something that I loved to do, man. I really didn’t go out a lot cause I was always coming up with stuff." In December 2012, Key Wane graduated from Tennessee State University with a degree in Musical Arts and Sciences.
Reason is a digital audio workstation for creating and editing music and audio developed by Swedish software developers Propellerhead Software. It emulates a rack of hardware synthesizers, samplers, signal processors, sequencers, and mixers, all of which can be freely interconnected in an arbitrary manner. Reason can be used either as a complete virtual music studio or as a set of virtual instruments to be used with other sequencing software in a fashion that mimics live performance.
Reason 1.0 was released in December 2000. The program's design mimics a studio rack into which users can insert virtual devices such as instruments, effects processors, and mixers. These modules can be controlled from Reason's built-in MIDI sequencer or from other sequencing applications such as Pro Tools, Logic, FL Studio, REAPER, Digital Performer, Cubase, Sonar, and GarageBand via Propellerhead's ReWire protocol in the 32-bit versions of these programs. Since the release of version 6 Reason supports ReWire with 64-bit hosts.

For More Information: http://propellerheads.se/reason/ It would be easy to forget when looking at his album credits that Key Wane is just 27 years old. He has the producer/artist roster some work decades to rack up. In fact Key Wane seems to have a knack for not just working with A-List artists at the top of their game, but providing them with hit single after hit single. But with all that success and more platinum records than he even has time to hang on his walls right now, Key Wane is staying humble, hungry and active. We caught up with him to talk shop and hear his story.

To learn more about Reason: http://www.propellerheads.se/reason Take a listen to Hip Hop, Trap, Pop, EDM, or just about any other genre these days and you'll hear the distinct tones of the "808 Bass" - a term used to describe tuned and pitched sub-bass lines whose origins come from a classic drum machine, not a bass synth. But as standard as the 808 Bass is, the way everyone makes them these days is not quite as standard. That's one reason why 808 Bass sounds and bass lines are something of a mystery for aspiring producers and beat makers. In part one of a two part series, we take a look at the origins of the 808 Bass and the philosophy that goes into creating custom patches and writing 808 bass lines.

To learn more about Reason: http://propellerheads.se/reason/ For years people have asked us to give some tips and tricks on how to write melodies. Now thanks to the Scales & Chords player in Reason 9, we've come up with a systematic and teachable way for arriving at a melody that doesn't just follow the often trite advice like "just play whatever sounds good" or "use your ear." If it was that easy, people asking for tips and tricks wouldn't be asking! By the time your done, you should have a good idea on how to start your next melody - and even some ideas for how to use the same techniques to start your next chord progression too.

Sup doe Fam? Im back with a nutha Reason 9 Propellerhead, Beat Making Tutorial Soulful Trap type JDilla vibe. That was a mouth full., But anywho I like to bring mass appeal to the table and cover all genres of hip hop and r&b; production. With that being said, I want to introduce yet another smooth grooving refill called smokers delight. We will be doing a smooth Detroit style JDilla classic feel and vibe. We will cover the samples in a Maschine Masters approach using the Akai MPK49 pads., We will then take the swing method akai mpc style. Offsetting the swing a bit, cracking those samples, snares and kick drums the classic Dilla style leaving us with that ole' missed boom-bap drama! A basic overview tutorial on making dance music in Reason. This is from before Reason 6.5 was released, so the interface is slightly different and there are no Rack Extensions, but the principles are still applicable.
I explain instrument frequency ranges and show you how to EQ your mixes. I also provide you with a handy chart you can use to guide yourself through the process. Frequency range chart: http://www.offbeat.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/eq-chart.pdf http://propellerhead-reason-tutorials.com/
There has been some cool updates to Reason that tackle some of the issues I had with it - i was reviewing the original version 8 release in 2014, they are now on 8.3.1 (jan 2016). And yes i now know there's a tuner!!! Molten Music Technology tackle the new version 8 of Propellerheads Reason music production software. We talk about the new features such as the browser and enhanced workflow but also give an overview into Reason for the uninitiated. And thanks to everyone who's pointed out that there is, in fact, a tuner on every audio track!
