STILL NOT QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT FEST

MRR’s first fest in almost a decade! Still Not Quiet on the Western Front fest will be happening in the Bay Area Thursday February 11th through Sunday February 14th of 2016. Over thirty DIY punk bands from all over will be playing shows in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley, with four main shows, two day shows, and three aftershows (for extended raging).

The fuzzy wave continues with SF’s JOYRIDE who rip one hella catchy riff after another. SORRY, NOT SORRY bring queer riot-grrl post-punk dissonance and drive every show. Newcomers BEAST are the Bay Area’s post wave of new punk, and they do not play nice.

This month in MRR + Thrillhouse Presents: Oakland comes to SF. BIRTHDAY GIRL keeps getting better and better at their brand of noise rock-influenced punk. Jack might even do a backflip if you ask. THE LIGHT need no introduction, but play harsh and restless dark hardcore. ÖTZI are one of my favorite Bay Area bands, playing dreamy post-punk that’s both end-of-the-world invoking and danceable at the same time. And DJ Nicole Dunn will be spinning punk and metal jams between bands. Dancing encouraged.

The Epicenter Zone was a “punk project” on the east side of Valencia just north of 16th Street in the 1990s. It was a meeting space, record and zine shop, and resource center all rolled into one.
