Considerado por muitos críticos como um divisor de águas na MPB por fundir vários elementos da sonoridade africana ao samba, "Os Afro-sambas" é o segundo LP lançado pela parceria Baden Powell / Vínicius de Moraes. Segundo relata Vinicius, numa crônica escrita em 1965 e disponível no livro "Samba Falado" (Editora Beco do Azougue), o poeta recebera de Coqueijo Costa um disco com sambas-de-roda da Bahia, pontos de candomblé e toques de berimbau que encantaram Vinicius de Moraes. Baden Powell também fora à Bahia e conferira pessoalmente os cantos do candomblé baiano. Desse mútuo encantamento pelo samba e religiosidade encontrada na Bahia, surgiu o projeto dos Afro-sambas, que se tornou um álbum gravado em 1966.
As oito canções apresentam uma rica e singular musicalidade, que traz uma mistura de instrumentos do candomblé e da umbanda (como atabaques e afoxés) com timbres mais comuns à música brasileira (agogôs, saxofones e pandeiros).
O grande destaque do álbum é a faixa de abertura "Canto de Ossanha", futuro clássico da MPB, que conta com a participação nos vocais da atriz Betty Faria e na flauta de Nicolino Cópia.
Baden Powell realizou em 1990 uma regravação deste álbum, novamente acompanhado pelo Quarteto em Cy, em que basicamente manteve os mesmos arranjos mas procurou obter uma melhor qualidade sonora, uma forma de homenagear o amigo Vinícius, então já falecido.

Em 1967, logo após o lançamento do famoso álbum "Tristeza on Guitar", Baden Powell grava seu primeiro disco na Alemanha, "Poema on Guitar", lançado em 1968 pelo selo Saba / MPS.

Mit 40,3 Grad ist am vergangenen Sonntag im bayerischen Kitzingen die höchste Temperatur in Deutschland seit Beginn der Wetteraufzeichnungen gemessen worden. Hoch Annelie nahm das Land tagelang in den Schwitzkasten. Nicht immer brachte ein Besuch im Freibad die erwünschte Abkühlung für erhitzte Gemüter. Im Waldschwimmbad Rosenhöhe in Offenbach musste sogar die Polizei anrücken.

Baden
Baden is a historical German territory. Together with Württemberg and Hohenzollern, two other historical territories, it now forms the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg.
Its neighbors to the north were Bavaria and Hesse-Darmstadt, to the west Alsace and the Palatinate, to the south Switzerland, and to the east Würtemberg and Bavaria. Baden was named for Hohenbaden Castle at Baden-Baden, an important German spa town.
Geography
Baden lies in the southwestern part of Germany. It extends from the Upper Rhine Plain in the west to the mountain range of the Black forest and Lake Constance in the southeast. In the northeast the Odenwald mountain range forms the boundary of the Rhine plain. The Kaiserstuhl is a small volcanic group between the Rhine and the Black Forest. At 1,493 metres (4,898 ft) the Feldberg is the highest mountain of Baden and the Black Forest.
Cities of Baden area are (from north to south): Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim and Freiburg im Breisgau.

Mit 40,3 Grad ist am vergangenen Sonntag im bayerischen Kitzingen die höchste Temperatur in Deutschland seit Beginn der Wetteraufzeichnungen gemessen worden. Hoch Annelie nahm das Land tagelang in den Schwitzkasten. Nicht immer brachte ein Besuch im Freibad die erwünschte Abkühlung für erhitzte Gemüter. Considerado por muitos críticos como um divisor de águas na MPB por fundir vários elementos da sonoridade africana ao samba, "Os Afro-sambas" é o segundo LP lançado pela parceria Baden Powell / Vínicius de Moraes. Segundo relata Vinicius, numa crônica escrita em 1965 e disponível no livro "Samba Falado" (Editora Beco do Azougue), o poeta recebera de Coqueijo Costa um disco com sambas-de-roda da Bahia, pontos de candomblé e toques de berimbau que encantaram Vinicius de Moraes. Baden Powell também fora à Bahia e conferira pessoalmente os cantos do candomblé baiano. Desse mútuo encantamento pelo samba e religiosidade encontrada na Bahia, surgiu o projeto dos Afro-sambas, que se tornou um álbum gravado em 1966.
As oito canções apresentam uma rica e singular musicalidade, que traz uma mistura de instrumentos do candomblé e da umbanda (como atabaques e afoxés) com timbres mais comuns à música brasileira (agogôs, saxofones e pandeiros).
O grande destaque do álbum é a faixa de abertura "Canto de Ossanha", futuro clássico da MPB, que conta com a participação nos vocais da atriz Betty Faria e na flauta de Nicolino Cópia.
Baden Powell realizou em 1990 uma regravação deste álbum, novamente acompanhado pelo Quarteto em Cy, em que basicamente manteve os mesmos arranjos mas procurou obter uma melhor qualidade sonora, uma forma de homenagear o amigo Vinícius, então já falecido.

Reichenau - Baden-Württemberg - Germany Tourist Guide
Reichenau Island is an island in Lake Constance in southern Germany. It lies between Gnadensee and Untersee, two parts of Lake Constance, almost due west of the city of Konstanz. The island is connected to the mainland by a causeway that was completed in 1838. The causeway is interrupted between the site of the former castle Schopflen and the eastern end of Reichenau Island by the 10-metre-wide Bruckgraben, a waterway which is spanned by a low road bridge that allows passage of ordinary boats but not of sailboats through its 95-metre course. Its total area is less than 7 square kilometers (3 square miles). The highest elevation on the island, the Hochwart, reaches 438.7 metres, or 43 metres above the lake surface. The famous spa town of Baden-Baden lies close to the French border, where the Black Forest rises from the Rhine valley. Famous for its hot mineral springs and its spa architecture, it is a popular destination for the discerning (and rich) tourist.
Notes: The casino in the Kurhaus is open for guided tours in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings, there is a dress code (jeans are allowed, but gentlemen must wear jacket and tie). There is also an entrance fee.
Tourist information is located in the pump room (Trinkhalle).
Paragliding from the Merkur is subject to strict regulations, including mandatory briefing and membership of the local paragliding club: a temporary membership for one day can be obtained at the base station of the funicular. Details (in German only) on the club wesite at http://www.gsvbaden.de/
For the buses, the "Citysolo" ticket costs €5.60 (correct as of June 2013) and is good for all bus journeys within Baden-Baden for the whole day. Buses 201, 205, 216, 218, 243, 244 and 245 all run from the station into town. Buses 204 and 205 run from the town centre to Merkurwald for the funicular to the Merkur. (All details correct as of June 2013).

Reichenau Island is an island in Lake Constance in southern Germany. It lies between Gnadensee and Untersee, two parts of Lake Constance, almost due west of the city of Konstanz. The island is connected to the mainland by a causeway that was completed in 1838. The causeway is interrupted between the site of the former castle Schopflen and the eastern end of Reichenau Island by the 10-metre-wide Bruckgraben, a waterway which is spanned by a low road bridge that allows passage of ordinary boats but not of sailboats through its 95-metre course. Its total area is less than 7 square kilometers (3 square miles). The highest elevation on the island, the Hochwart, reaches 438.7 metres, or 43 metres above the lake surface.
It was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000 because of its monastery, the Abbey of Reichenau. The abbey's Münster is dedicated to the Virgin and Saint Mark. Two further churches were built on the island consecrated to St Georg, and to Sts Peter and Paul. The famous artworks of Reichenau include the Ottonian murals of miracles of Christ in St Georg, unique survivals from the 10th century. The abbey's bailiff was housed in a two-storey stone building that was raised by two more storeys of timber framing in the 14th century, one of the oldest timber-frame buildings in south Germany.
