Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in west London, England. Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom, busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and third busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. In 2014, it handled a record 73.4 million passengers, a 1.4 percent increase from 2013.
Heathrow lies 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) west of Central London, and has two parallel east–west runways along with four operational terminals on a site that covers 12.14 square kilometres (4.69 sq mi). The airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which itself is owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group that includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Heathrow is the primary hub for British Airways and the primary operating base for Virgin Atlantic.
In September 2012, the UK government established the Airports Commission, an independent commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies to examine various options for increasing capacity at UK airports. The commission shortlisted two options for expanding Heathrow in its interim report in 2013, along with a third option for expanding Gatwick Airport. The final report, published on 1 July 2015, backed a third runway at Heathrow.

An absolutely beautiful evening at London Heathrow, one of the warmest days of the year so far, temperatures reaching 17 degrees, which isn't bad for April! But quite a gusty, north easterly wind bringing in the cold air from Scandinavia. I'd seen the forecast was good so decided to make the most of the clear skies and head down to Heathrow to catch the array of late afternoon and evening heavy arrivals. LHR is very much a split airport. The morning and afternoon sees a majority of trans-atlantic flights while the evening sees mostly heavy arrivals from the Far East, Middle East & Asia.
This is my first late evening visit to Heathrow this year and there's a few noticeable changes. A few new airlines and different aircraft.
So enjoy, every heavy arrival on RWY09L at Heathrow between 15:30 & 20:00! 32 minutes of non-stop heavies! :D

I got bumped up from Economy to First class (upper class) on Virgin Atlantic for my flight to LA! IT WAS SO COOL! Also the first class lounge clubhouse was honestly the coolest lounge I've ever been in. I think you can just pay to enter it when waiting to fly virgin so I might honestly do that more often.

This was last night (10th May) around 5.30pm. I was collecting clients from Heathrow T3. I got there slightly early and had a nap in the car for 20mins before I was woken by all the Emergency Service Sirens. This was the scene that greeted me.... at first I thought it was motorcycle accident - but quickly realised someone had jumped from the adjacent carpark. Not sure if they survived.... very sad ! Air ambulance is seen departing. All very grim. Paramedics doing a great job as ever.
NOTE: The first officer to attend the scene has confirmed that the guy did survive.

British Airways Airbus A380 G-XLEA landing at London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) as BAW208 from Miami on a very blustery Monday morning (09/11/2015).
The video captures from exiting the hold over central London, approach, landing and finally taxying to the gate. Although we are getting buffeted by the wind, the A380 is a very smooth and quiet aircraft to fly on!

Airbus A380
The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by the European aircraft company Airbus. It is the world's largest passenger airliner, and the airports at which it operates have upgraded facilities to accommodate it. It was initially named Airbus A3XX and designed to challenge Boeing's monopoly in the large-aircraft market. The A380 made its first flight on 27 April 2005 and entered commercial service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines.
The A380's upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage, with a width equivalent to a wide-body aircraft. This gives the A380-800's cabin 550 square metres (5,920 sq ft) of usable floor space, 40% more than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-8, and provides seating for 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in an all-economy class configuration. The A380-800 has a design range of 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 km), sufficient to fly nonstop from Dallas, USA to Sydney, Australia, and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h, 560 mph or 490 kn at cruising altitude).

Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic, a trading name of Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited, is a British airline with its head office in Crawley, United Kingdom. The airline was established in 1984 as British Atlantic Airways, and was originally planned by its co-founders Randolph Fields and Alan Hellary to fly between London and the Falkland Islands. Soon after changing the name to Virgin Atlantic Airways, Fields sold his shares in the company after disagreements with Richard Branson over the management of the company. The maiden flight from London Gatwick to Newark Liberty International Airport took place on 22 June 1984. The airline along with Virgin Holidays is controlled by a holding company, Virgin Atlantic Limited, which is 51% owned by the Virgin Group and 49% by Delta Air Lines. It is administratively separate from other Virgin-branded airlines.
Virgin Atlantic uses a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft and operates to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia from its main bases at London Heathrow and London Gatwick and its secondary base at Manchester. British Airways
British Airways, often shortened to BA, is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom and the largest airline in the United Kingdom based on fleet size. When measured by passengers carried, it is second-largest in United Kingdom (behind easyJet). The airline is based in Waterside near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport.

International Civil Aviation Organization airport code
The ICAO (/ˌaɪˌkeɪˈoʊ/, "IK-KAY-OH") airport code or location indicator is a four-character alphanumeric code designating aerodromes around the world. These codes are defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization, and published in ICAO Document 7910: Location Indicators are used by air traffic control and airline operations such as flight planning. They differ from IATA codes, which are generally used for airline timetables, reservations, and baggage tags. For example, the IATA code for London's Heathrow Airport is LHR and its ICAO code is EGLL. This was last night (10th May) around 5.30pm. I was collecting clients from Heathrow T3. I got there slightly early and had a nap in the car for 20mins before I was woken by all the Emergency Service Sirens. This was the scene that greeted me.... at first I thought it was motorcycle accident - but quickly realised someone had jumped from the adjacent carpark. Not sure if they survived.... very sad ! Air ambulance is seen departing. All very grim. Paramedics doing a great job as ever. NOTE: The first officer to attend the scene has confirmed that the guy did survive. -

(That's what happens when you rush editing) An absolutely beautiful evening at London Heathrow, one of the warmest days of the year so far, temperatures reaching 17 degrees, which isn't bad for April! But quite a gusty, north easterly wind bringing in the cold air from Scandinavia. I'd seen the forecast was good so decided to make the most of the clear skies and head down to Heathrow to catch the array of late afternoon and evening heavy arrivals. An absolutely beautiful evening at London Heathrow, one of the warmest days of the year so far, temperatures reaching 17 degrees, which isn't bad for April! I'd seen the forecast was good so decided to make the most of the clear skies and head down to Heathrow to catch the array of late afternoon and evening heavy arrivals. This is my first late evening visit to Heathrow this year and there's a few noticeable changes. A few new airlines and different aircraft.

An absolutely beautiful evening at London Heathrow, one of the warmest days of the year so far, temperatures reaching 17 degrees, which isn't bad for April! But quite a gusty, north easterly wind bringing in the cold air from Scandinavia. I'd seen the forecast was good so decided to make the most of the clear skies and head down to Heathrow to catch the array of late afternoon and evening heavy arrivals. LHR is very much a split airport. The morning and afternoon sees a majority of trans-atlantic flights while the evening sees mostly heavy arrivals from the Far East, Middle East & Asia.
This is my first late evening visit to Heathrow this year and there's a few noticeable changes. A few new airlines and different aircraft.
So enjoy, every heavy arrival on RWY09L at Heathrow between 15:30 & 20:00! 32 minutes of non-stop heavies! :D

This was last night (10th May) around 5.30pm. I was collecting clients from Heathrow T3. I got there slightly early and had a nap in the car for 20mins before I was woken by all the Emergency Service Sirens. This was the scene that greeted me.... at first I thought it was motorcycle accident - but quickly realised someone had jumped from the adjacent carpark. Not sure if they survived.... very sad ! Air ambulance is seen departing. All very grim. Paramedics doing a great job as ever.
NOTE: The first officer to attend the scene has confirmed that the guy did survive.

Here it is, our pilot episode!
Why am I doing this? I travel a lot. Too much. And recently I find myself rocking up in a city that I've never been to before and know very little about. On any level. Culture, language, transport, money, food, etc. But most travel shows are an hour-long, US-centric, full of bad information, and almost exclusively aimed at tourists. So I wanted to create something different. Something aimed at the frequent traveller, something portable and short-form. Something...useful.
In our pilot episode we get you in, out, and around the wonderful city of London, England. We tell you the best way to get from the airport into the city, the best way to get around, how much things cost, and why you should ALWAYS stand on the right.
In follow up episodes we'll be adding a food and drink segment, as well as tips on how to avoid those awkward social and business faux pas.
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch this and welcome any thoughts, feedback, ideas, and suggestions for future episodes. Travel is my passion and I'm excited to share it with you.

How to get from Heathrow airport to London using public transport London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is one of the world's busiest international airports. It is located 20 miles (32km) to the west of London. One of the first challenges I encounter when travelling is how to get from the airport to the city. In this video I'll show you how to travel from the airport to London?
This short documentary explains that there are two main ways to get to London from Heathrow, the tube (Metro or Underground) and the Heathrow Express. Terminal 1 2 3 4 5 are all connected by trains.
For this video I opted to use the Heathrow Express (https://www.heathrowexpress.com) which takes 15 minutes to Paddington Station in 15 minutes for 35 pounds.
Upon arrival at one of the Heathrow terminals and exiting the luggage claim area, look out for the purple signs of the Heathrow Express. Tickets can be bought in a number of ways, from the ticket machine, the information desk or from the conductor on the train.

If you want to know how to get from Heathrow Airport to London using public transport, I'm going to show you how. There are two main ways to get from Heathrow to London. There's the cheap way and there's the fast way. The cheap way is to take the Metro which takes about 45 minutes.
