Morse is an archaic English word for the clasp of a cope.
It can also refer to:
Detective Constable/Detective Inspector/Detective Chief Inspector Endeavour Morse is a fictional character in the eponymous series of detective novels by British author Colin Dexter. On television, he appears in the 33-episode 1987–2000 drama series Inspector Morse, in which John Thaw played the character, as well as the 2012 series Endeavour, portrayed by Shaun Evans. Morse originally is described as a senior CID (Criminal Investigation Department) officer with the Thames Valley Police force in Oxford, England. Morse presents a reasonably likeable persona, despite his sullen temperament, with a Jaguar car (a Lancia in the early novels), a thirst for English real ale, and a penchant for music (especially opera and Wagner), poetry, art, classics, classic cars, and cryptic crossword puzzles. He is often assisted by his Sergeant Robert "Robbie" Lewis. Morse's partnership and friendship with Lewis is a fundamental aspect of the series.
Kevin Whately (born 6 February 1951) is an English actor. Whately is primarily known for his role as Robert "Robbie" Lewis in the crime dramas Inspector Morse and Lewis, his role as Neville "Nev" Hope in the British television comedy Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, and his role as Dr. Jack Kerruish in the drama series Peak Practice, although he has appeared in numerous other roles.
Whately is from Humshaugh, near Hexham, Northumberland. His mother, Mary (née Pickering), was a teacher and his father, Richard, was a Commander in the Royal Navy. His maternal grandmother, Doris Phillips, was a professional concert singer and his great-great-grandfather, Richard Whately, was Anglican Archbishop of Dublin. The BBC documentary Who Do You Think You Are?, broadcast on 2 March 2009, also revealed that Whately is a descendant, on his paternal side, of Thomas Whately of Nonsuch Park, a leading London merchant, English politician and writer who became a director of the Bank of England, and of Major Robert Thompson, a pioneer tobacco plantation owner in Virginia who was a staunch supporter of the Parliamentarian cause at the time of the English Commonwealth.
John Edward Thaw, CBE (3 January 1942 – 21 February 2002) was an English actor. He appeared in a range of television, stage, and cinema roles, his most popular being television series such as Inspector Morse, Redcap, The Sweeney, Home to Roost, and Kavanagh QC.
Thaw was born in Longsight, Manchester, to working class parents Dorothy (née Ablott) and John, a long-distance lorry driver. Thaw had a difficult childhood as his mother left when he was seven years old and he did not see her again for 12 years. His younger brother, Raymond Stuart "Ray" emigrated to Australia in the mid-1960s. Thaw grew up in Gorton and Burnage, attending the Ducie Technical High School for Boys. He entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) at the age of 16, where he was a contemporary of Tom Courtenay.
Soon after leaving RADA Thaw made his formal stage début in A Shred of Evidence at the Liverpool Playhouse and was awarded a contract with the theatre. His first film role was a bit part in the 1962 adaptation of The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner starring Tom Courtenay and he also acted on-stage opposite Sir Laurence Olivier in Semi-Detached (1962) by David Turner. He appeared in several episodes of the BBC police series Z-Cars in 1963–64 as a detective constable who left the force because of an unusual drink problem: he could not take the alcohol so often part of the policeman's work. Between 1964 and 1966, he starred in two series of the ABC Weekend Television/ITV production Redcap, playing the hard-nosed military policeman Sergeant John Mann. He was also a guest star in an early episode of The Avengers. In 1967 he appeared in the Granada TV/ITV series, Inheritance, alongside James Bolam and Michael Goodliffe, as well as appearing in TV plays such as The Talking Head and episodes of series such as Budgie, where he played against type (opposite Adam Faith) as an effeminate failed playwright with a full beard and a Welsh accent.
Douglas Hickox (10 January 1929 – 25 July 1988) was an English film director. Hickox was born in London, where he was educated at Emanuel School. Hickox worked extensively as an assistant director and second unit director throughout the '50s and early '60s, making his first major picture in 1970. Over the next ten years, he developed a reputation for the wit and style of his direction, and for his taut action sequences. His work includes Les Bicyclettes de Belsize (1968), Entertaining Mr Sloane (1969), Theatre of Blood (1973), Sky Riders (1976) and Zulu Dawn (1979). He worked on various TV programmes in the '80s until his death. He died in a London hospital following a heart surgery operation at age 59.
Hickox was married to Anne V. Coates, the Oscar-winning editor of Lawrence of Arabia. After his death, his second wife Annabel approached the Raindance Film Festival with an annual bequest from Douglas' estate. This bequest led directly to the creation of the British Independent Film Awards. In recognition of Douglas's commitment and support for new talent, BIFA inaugurated the Douglas Hickox Award, which is given to a British director on their debut feature.

Verse 1 â Murs and [Slug]
[Hey Murs, why you always look mad at life?]
First, fuck you for asking, 'cause you know that ain't right
I just refuse to be plastic for these rappers I don't like
[Well how do you manage to stay so polite?]
Anger management techniques developed out of spite
Rather kill you with kindness than kill you in a fight
[So why you wanna punch these other rappers in their face?]
'Cause they fake as fuck, and a waste of space
Besides, fists, not guns, that's a change of pace
[So who are you to judge who's true these days?]
I been around the block, got a few dues paid
One of the few rappers left that'll do what I say
[So is it Def Jux or the Living Legends that you're reppin?]
Man I'm all about good music, people and progression
I got friends from different sections but the West is where I'm restin'
[Do you really think race is the reason you ain't selling?]
What, you tryin'a piss me off and put a end to this session?
Man, you heard this is for, c'mon, next question
[Alright, alrightâ¦What was it like workin' with Humpty Hump?]
One hell of a artist, but a fucking drunk
Though he did get the video crackin', I won't front
[You had a bunch of porn stars there, anything jump?]
Yeah, offered to my lap for some head just once
And I coulda got some pussy, but I was too fucked up
[After the first Felt, did you meet Christina?]
No, she never said thanks, my black ass never seen her
That's why I moved on to my new real queen
[So what's the definition of the 316?]
It's my birthday fool, 316
Plus, the formula for every rap song that you singâ¦
Verse 2 â [Murs] and Slug
[Hey Slug, why you only make songs about women?]
Priorities man, naw, I'm kidding
I'm tryin'a build heaven while the world's still spinnin'
[How big did you guess it would get in the beginning?]
This is still the beginning, still unraveling ribbon
The mission is to travel for as far as the vision
[Well how long do you think the success will last?]
Man for all I know, that shit already passed
It's impossible to answer that question asked
[Then why'd Rhymesayers make a deal with Epitaph?]
We didn't you dumbass, go read the mag
Me and Ant did one record for beats and laughs
[Anyway Sean, what happened to Spawn?]
Well things felt wrong so we both had to move on
No love gone, everyday holds a new dawn
[Business and friendship, where's the line drawn?]
Family and friends make it past the front lawn
Business is done by the end of the last song
[Is it the caffeine, the nicotine, the milligrams of tar?]
No, it's Selena, it's Christina, it's Serena in my car
It's the thick line between being a genius and a star
[Are you rappin', actin', or kiddin' a guitar?]
Man, fuck that shit I'm just sittin' at the bar
Writing these hits about self-inflicted scars
[Are you in love with this game, completely and truly?]
From the music, to the bus, to the stage, to the groupies
I'm the same as I was back when nobody knew me
[Alright, who-is-Lucy?]
She's the extra that gets to play the devil in my movies
