Celtic Park is a football stadium in the Parkhead area of Glasgow, and is the home ground of Celtic Football Club. Celtic Park, an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 60,411, is the largest football stadium in Scotland and the sixth-largest stadium in the United Kingdom. It is also commonly known by Celtic fans as either Parkhead or Paradise.
Celtic was formed in November 1887 and the first Celtic Park was opened in the Parkhead area in 1888. The club moved to a different site in 1892, however, when the rental charge was greatly increased. The new site was developed into an oval shaped stadium, with vast terracing sections. The record attendance of 83,500 was set by an Old Firm derby on 1 January 1938. The terraces were covered and floodlights were installed between 1957 and 1971. The Taylor Report mandated that all major clubs should have an all-seated stadium by August 1994. Celtic was in a bad financial position in the early 1990s and no major work was carried out until Fergus McCann took control of the club in March 1994. He carried out a plan to demolish the old terraces and develop a new stadium in a phased rebuild, which was completed in August 1998.
The words Celt and Celtic (also Keltic) can refer to:
The Celtic Football Club (/ˈsɛltɪk/) is a professional football club based in Glasgow, Scotland, that plays in the Scottish Premiership. The club was founded in 1887 with the purpose of alleviating poverty in the immigrant Irish population in the East End of Glasgow. They played their first match in May 1888, a friendly match against Rangers which Celtic won 5–2. Celtic established itself within Scottish football, winning six successive league titles during the first decade of the 20th century. The club enjoyed their greatest successes during the 1960s and 70s under Jock Stein when they won nine consecutive league titles and the European Cup.
Celtic have won the Scottish League Championship on 46 occasions, most recently in the 2014–15 season, the Scottish Cup 36 times and the Scottish League Cup 15 times. The club's greatest season was 1966–67, when Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup, also winning the Scottish League Championship, the Scottish Cup, the Scottish League Cup, and the Glasgow Cup. Celtic also reached the 1970 European Cup Final, and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
A park is an area of natural, semi-natural, or planted space set aside for human enjoyment and recreation or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats. It may consist of grassy areas, rocks, soil, and trees, but may also contain buildings and other artifacts such as monuments, fountains or playground structures. In North America, many parks have fields for playing sports such as soccer, baseball and football, and paved areas for games such as basketball. Many parks have trails for walking, biking and other activities. Some parks are built adjacent to bodies of water or watercourses, and these parks may comprise a beach or boat dock area. Often, the smallest parks are in urban areas, where a park may take up only a city block or less. Urban parks often have benches for sitting and they may contain picnic tables and barbecue grills. Parks have differing rules regarding whether dogs can be brought into the park: some parks prohibit dogs; some parks allow them with restrictions (e.g., use of a leash); and some parks, which may be called "dog parks," permit dogs to run off-leash.

Our visit to Celtic Park on the weekend of March 21-22, 2014. On Friday, we took the tour. Getting to walk out of the tunnel -- just like Georgios Samaras, Virgil van Dijk or Scott Brown -- was pretty damn sweet. On Saturday, before the match, the Bobby Murdoch CSC, from Rosie McCaffrey's Irish Pub in Phoenix, Arizona, met in the Kerrydale Suite. St. Mirren was the first match our CSC has been to with our new Bobby Murdoch banner. It was the first match, I had personally ever been to -- not being from Glasgow -- after 10 years of following the Bhoys. The ref was just as awful in person as on TV. From a declining industrial centre with widespread pessimism about its future, Scotland's biggest city has been transformed into a vibrant, dynamic city hailed as one of the hippest spots in Europe. A large student population has given the city a youthful, progressive character and, with thumping nightlife, one of the strongest live music scenes in the UK, plus first-rate shopping. Glasgow continues to assert itself as one of Britain's most appealing destinations. With several outstanding art galleries, including the high...

The rivalry between football clubs Rangers and Celtic goes past typical name calling and dives into violence, racial slurs and pure hatred. The rivalry between Glasgow's "Old Firm" sides is the most famous in world football. It's the game's flagship loathing, proof of the power of the sport to inspire profound levels of tribal loyalty and a near-Pavlovian revulsion at anything to do with a rival. We examine the situation and try to get a handle on the political, religious, and national identity clashes that have shaped the rivalry, speak to fanzine editors on both sides of the divide and travel with the Bhoys' away support to a match at Tannadice. Travel video about destination Carinthia in Austria. Carinthia is Austria’s southernmost region and borders both Italy and Slovenia. It is located in the sunny heart of Europe with more than a thousand lakes plus spectacular alpine regions and numerous Celtic Roman excavation sites, mediaeval castles, monasteries and cathedrals. In the eastern part of Carinthia and more than a thousand metres above sea level is one of the region’s oldest historical villages, the mountain village of Diex. In the fifteenth century the Turks invaded the area with great savagery thus, as protection, local farmers built castellated churches in which they sought sanctuary. Friesach, Carinthia’s oldest city, has retained what must be the true ambience of the Middle Ages, with a fortified princely estate and church...
