The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The Admiral Grigorovich class is the latest class of frigates ordered by the Russian Navy for the Black Sea Fleet. Six ships (two batches of three ships)[2] have been ordered so far to be built by the "Yantar" shipyard in Kaliningrad.
The frigates are based on the Talwar-class frigate, six of which were ordered by the Indian Navy and were built at the same shipyard. The Talwar class is in turn based on the Burevestnik-class frigates. The contract for the construction of three frigates is to be completed in four years. The lead ship, Admiral Grigorovich was laid down on 18 December 2010 and was expected to be in service 34 months from that date (October 2013).[3]
The class's original gas turbines were made by Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt. The company was a center of Soviet maritime gas turbine design and production.[4] The last three vessels remain without engines as of November–December 2014.
After Ukrainian crisis, Ukraine said it would no longer supply the engines.[5] Instead Russian manufacturer Saturn was initially asked to supply alternative M90FP turbines. However these cannot be completed before 2019-2020, and this delay seemingly means the Navy would rather use the funds elsewhere.
On 9 December 2015 it was announced that the lead vessel was being sent from the Baltic to the Northern Fleet for the next stage of state tests. Some weapons firings are not possible in the Baltic.[6] The lead ship was commissioned on 11 March 2016.[7][8]
Due to the conflict with Ukraine and the subsequent stop on engine delivery, Russia has announced in August 2016 that the second batch of 3 frigates in the class will be exported to India.[9] These had been initially also intended for the Russian Baltic Fleet.

On almost a regular basis large groups of enemy ships of varying sizes have been spotted off the coastal waters of Kingston/Port Royal the British Capital of the Caribbean. These enemy armadas have coordinated and have become accustomed to relying on one-another to support them as they attempt to intimidate the Royal Navy.
Although many smaller defense fleets were formed a main coastal defense fleet was assembled consisting primarily of 1st rate ship-of-the-lines to combat the enemy threats.

An international court handed down a decision that pointed a finger at the unjustness of Beijing’s self-serving actions and statements related to its territorial claims in the South China Sea.
Regarding the so-called nine-dash line - based on which China claims sovereignty - the arbitration court said "there was no legal basis for China to claim historic rights". The court also said "there was no evidence that China had historically exercised exclusive control" over the resources and waters.
The international court further concluded that China was not entitled to an exclusive economic zone for the artificial islands it has constructed in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.

Naval fleet
A fleet or naval fleet is a large formation of warships, and the largest formation in any navy. A fleet at sea is the direct equivalent of an army on land.
Fleets are usually, but not necessarily, permanent formations and are generally assigned to a particular ocean or sea. Most fleets are named after that ocean or sea, but the convention in the United States Navy is to use numbers.
A fleet is normally commanded by an admiral, who is often also a commander in chief, but many fleets have been or are commanded by vice admirals or even rear admirals. Most fleets are divided into several squadrons, each under a subordinate admiral. Those squadrons in turn are often divided into divisions. In the age of sail, fleets were divided into van, centre and rear squadrons, named after each squadron’s place in the line of battle. In more modern times, the squadrons are typically composed of homogeneous groups of the same class of warship, such as battleships or cruisers.
Since many smaller navies only contain a single fleet, the term the fleet is often synonymous with the navy.

The Admiral Grigorovich class is the latest class of frigates ordered by the Russian Navy for the Black Sea Fleet. Six ships (two batches of three ships)[2] have been ordered so far to be built by the "Yantar" shipyard in Kaliningrad.
The frigates are based on the Talwar-class frigate, six of which were ordered by the Indian Navy and were built at the same shipyard. The Talwar class is in turn based on the Burevestnik-class frigates. The contract for the construction of three frigates is to be completed in four years. The lead ship, Admiral Grigorovich was laid down on 18 December 2010 and was expected to be in service 34 months from that date (October 2013).[3]
The class's original gas turbines were made by Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt. The company was a center of Soviet maritime gas turbine design and production.[4] The last three vessels remain without engines as of November–December 2014.
After Ukrainian crisis, Ukraine said it would no longer supply the engines.[5] Instead Russian manufacturer Saturn was initially asked to supply alternative M90FP turbines. However these cannot be completed before 2019-2020, and this delay seemingly means the Navy would rather use the funds elsewhere.
On 9 December 2015 it was announced that the lead vessel was being sent from the Baltic to the Northern Fleet for the next stage of state tests. Some weapons firings are not possible in the Baltic.[6] The lead ship was commissioned on 11 March 2016.[7][8]
Due to the conflict with Ukraine and the subsequent stop on engine delivery, Russia has announced in August 2016 that the second batch of 3 frigates in the class will be exported to India.[9] These had been initially also intended for the Russian Baltic Fleet.

The court also said "there was no evidence that China had historically exercised exclusive control" over the resources and waters.
The international court further concluded that China was not entitled to an exclusive economic zone for the artificial islands it has constructed in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.

Immediately, there are tensions between him and one of the ship’s junior lieutenants, Leonid Karakash. However, Slonov is determined to make Karakash change his ways. Meanwhile, the rest of the corvette’s crew begins preparation for a military exercise. They are to compete against the Magnitogorsk submarine under the command of Vladimir Nagornov and his crew. They only have 20 days to properly prepare. But first, the corvette’s new sailors must be initiated.

Throughout its history, it has fought in many military conflicts, defending its country’s borders and perfecting its battle techniques. Today it boasts the most modern vessels, formidable weaponry and experienced seamen the Russian Navy has to offer. Meet the crews of two of its vessels, the corvette Soobrazitelny and the submarine Magnitogorsk, to learn more about life in the Baltic Fleet.
Joining the crew of Magnitogorsk, commanded by Captain Vladimir Nagornov, you'll find out about the procedures required for diving and surfacing, as well as certain superstitions shared by those on board. It is intended to showcase the prowess and capabilities of the Indian Navy. President Pranab Mukherjee will review the fleet on February 6. INS Sumitra, an indigenously built naval offshore vessel, will be the presidential yacht.
For the first time, the Navy will be showcasing a warship that runs completely on biofuel.

China's Strategic Interests
China's reliance on the sea has grown steadily as it has become a global trading power. Much of China's imports and exports are seaborne, as over 85 percent of its trade relies on the sea. Moreover, China also relies on the oceans to feed its population, and increasingly, as with the purchase of Nexen Corporation, to power its industry (through offshore oil drilling).
The territory at stake is vast. The 1992 PRC Law on the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Zone states:
The territorial sea of the People's Republic of China is the sea belt adjacent to the land territory and the internal waters of the People's Republic of China. The land territory of the People's Republic of China includes the mainland of the People's Republic of China and its coastal islands; Taiwan and all islands appertaining thereto including the Diaoyu Islands; the Penghu Islands; the Dongsha Islands [Pratas]; the Xisha Islands [Paracels]; the Zhongsha Islands [Macclesfield Bank] and the Nansha Islands [Spratlys]; as well as all the other islands belonging to the People's Republic of China.
The waters on the landward side of the baselines of the territorial sea of the People's Republic of China constitute the internal waters of the People's Republic of China.
This set of claims is far more expansive than allowed under the United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty that China is party to, but it would appear clear that Beijing considers its claims to trump those allowed under the treaty, as evidenced by its refusal to submit its disputes with the Philippines to arbitration, which is required by the treaty.

And China's construction of an anti-access/area denial system directly challenges American interests in the region.
China's Strategic Interests
China's reliance on the sea has grown steadily as it has become a global trading power. Much of China's imports and exports are seaborne, as over 85 percent of its trade relies on the sea. Moreover, China also relies on the oceans to feed its population, and increasingly, as with the purchase of Nexen Corporation, to power its industry (through offshore oil drilling).
The territory at stake is vast. The 1992 PRC Law on the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Zone states:
The territorial sea of the People's Republic of China is the sea belt adjacent to the land territory and the internal waters of the People's Republic of China. The land territory of the People's Republic of China includes the mainland of the People's Republic of China and its coastal islands; Taiwan and all islands appertaining thereto including the Diaoyu Islands; the Penghu Islands; the Dongsha Islands [Pratas]; the Xisha Islands [Paracels]; the Zhongsha Islands [Macclesfield Bank] and the Nansha Islands [Spratlys]; as well as all the other islands belonging to the People's Republic of China.
The waters on the landward side of the baselines of the territorial sea of the People's Republic of China constitute the internal waters of the People's Republic of China.
This set of claims is far more expansive than allowed under the United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty that China is party to, but it would appear clear that Beijing considers its claims to trump those allowed under the treaty, as evidenced by its refusal to submit its disputes with the Philippines to arbitration, which is required by the treaty.
