Letter bomb explodes inside IMF offices in Paris, another 8 devices suspected in the post (France, Greece)

Sunday, March 19th, 2017

A day after the German Ministry of Finance received a fully functioning Conspiracy of Cells of Fire / FAI parcel bomb addressed to Wolfgang Schäuble, Finance Minister, the Parisian offices of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also received a similar explosive device which was not detected by security. It exploded upon opening, injuring a female employee with burns to the face and arms. Her injuries are not life threatening.

The incident caused a wave of reaction as the embattled French State activated public security protocols, sealing off the area with armed anti-terrorist teams and instigating a large, now cross-border investigation with Greek involvement. The current French President made a statement about the attack which was picked up by the mass media, spreading further the idea-virus of insurrectional violence directed at those who are responsible for the ruination of the planet and the economic exploitation of billions of people which results in countless deaths, suicides and miserable existences. The French State is already in a declared state of emergency with army units patrolling the streets during the ongoing presidential election and coping with riots against police brutality and corruption.

Evidence of Greek stamps on the remnants of the device and the fact that a Greek return address was attached have become part of the official investigation, as the letter-bomb was confirmed by the Greek Minister for Public Order, Nikos Toskas, to have been sent from Greece. The bomb was designated for the IMF’s European representative, Jeffrey Franks, who has worked for the IMF for 24 years and has been director of the IMF’s Europe office since March 2015. The attack has not yet been claimed by those responsible, but Greek intelligence officials believe it to be the work of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Embassies, financial institutions, branches of the Greek Post Office and all European ministries have been put on alert. Greek police are posting orders for sweeping controls on packages, for those leaving Greece and also interior, as it has not been established that a Greek target will not be next. According to the Greek police, the packages were sent with low amounts of explosive which defeated the X-Ray machines in the airport of Athens. The parcels have a reduced weight, volume and size, with realistic return sender-name and addresses to add to the deception. According to their research of postal records and security footage, Greek intelligence officials believe that up to another 8 similarly functional bombs may have been sent from post offices in Athens and are inbound to targets all over Europe…

Paris-based prisoner support fund (France)

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017

From: Bordered by Silence
Source: Cette Semaine

These past months, in different cities, including during unpermitted demos or riots, many of us have been thrilled by the number of offensive actions in the street. From clashes with the guard dogs of the state and property to the broken windows of shops and even the pillaging of their contents; from attacks on journalist-cops to overcoming the pacifiers of the day: all of this has shaken the arrogance of the powerful. In all forms of struggle — which aren’t limited to “social movements” — self-organization and direct action are indispensable if we are to break with the pacification world of commodities and with state terrorism. Because to claim that it’s unimaginable for individuals to directly oppose the existing order is just a veiled way of saying that social revolt is simply impossible.

Repression is not just the moment when the flashball or baton comes to strike recalcitrant bodies, it’s each moment of daily life under the domination of the State and Capital, through their thousands of omnipresent psychological and physical manifestations that coerce the poor into accepting a shitty life. It’s the prisons that lock up ever more people for ever longer sentences, in order to punish, isolate, break, and store them, out of sight of the peaceful consciences of good citizens. It’s also the outside prison, built from measures like electronic bracelets, house arrest, exclusion areas, bail conditions, and so on. (more…)

Back in the Slammer: A letter from Damien from the Fleury-Mérogis jail (France)

Monday, January 2nd, 2017

Damien was arrested on Wednesday, December 7 in Bretagne, charged with attacks against the Chambre of Commerce, a Jaguar dealership, and other targets during a demo that took place on April 14 between Paris’ 10th and 19th districts. This is his first letter out since being denied bail.

I’m writing from Fleury, where I’m being held in preventative detention[1]. Since the charges against me are, as usual, totally boring and unimaginative, I wanted to offer a different telling of the lovely spring night of revolt, written by some true lovers of disorder, so that my comrades have an accurate and realistic depiction of what I’m alleged to have done: Reportback on April 14: hold in the rage too long and it bursts out like it should[2]

I don’t want to complain, so I won’t give a detailed account of my arrest, similar as it was to all those that happen each day, here and around the world.

However, it does seem important to mention a few things.
During the search, the cops found some anarchist propaganda, namely some newspapers, brochures, posters, and tracts, as well as a few texts in the process of being translated. I refused to sign the papers dealing with the search as well as those for my being held taken into custody. (more…)

Forest occupation in Bure – Stop the nuclear monster (France)

Saturday, November 26th, 2016

Emergency call-out from the forest occupation in Bure, France: the nuclear monster is coming in for a kill

You know how these occupations often go: bad people start destroying the environment, good people intervene, and in the end the bad people get the papers to favour them and start the bulldozers once more. This is exactly what just happened in the woods of Lejuc, near the village of Bure in France. And that’s why we need you. To come. Here. And resist. Big time.

«Some people re-occupied this forest two months ago. To support them I decided to put myself on the line and officially squat the place. I changed my home address here, there’s a mailbox and everything now, and I’m an official resident. Hopefully I’ll makes destroying all this a bit more difficult for Andra bastards!» says Sven Lindstrom, the first official squatter of the Lejuc forest. For obvious reasons he’s entitled to have his say in this call-out. (more…)

Fight Against Darkness – An internationalist view on Nice (France)

Monday, July 18th, 2016

A dastardly darkness has targeted innocent people in Nice, France. They were watching the fireworks in remembrance of the Bastille Day, an honorable day for the revolution that was, alas, going to be hijacked by the bourgeois class later. Or they were just taking a stroll, an act that has been forbidden for many cities of the Middle East for long. Are the questions ‘How many?’, ‘How old?’, ‘What nationality?’, etc. important now? Politicians of states have already repeated the same old clichés that this was a heinous and horrific attack, that perpetrator(s) are the enemy of humanity, and that they will avenge this treacherous act etc. The journalists have tried to talk to the eye witnesses who have been traumatized by what they had seen and heard. Millions have shared videos of the moments in which the truck has become a death machine that crushed people to death. We had almost got used to shootings , stabbings, and bombings. But now the trucks too have become deadly weapons. What else? What unexpected ends do wait for hundreds or thousands? Will the people be able to look at the things that move around without suspicion from now on? The darkness seems to have terrorized millions irreversibly. But what about those who are fighting against the darkness? They are sending their revolutionary greetings and their condolences to the people of Nice. They try to tear the darkness apart from streets to streets and from the buildings to buildings. Their best answer to the darkness is to intensify the dignified fight against it. Because they know very well that to live is to resist.

Paris: Imposing moral order with a sledgehammer – Communiqué from La Discordia (France)

Thursday, May 26th, 2016

We republish this text and dedicate it to all our comrades in territories where the brutal stench of religiously inspired hatred is found. No Gods, No Masters. More : 1

Translated from Italian by act for freedom now

Source: Attaque

‘No, we do not want to catch up with anyone. What we want to do is to go forward all the time, night and day, in the company of Man, in the company of all men. The caravan should not be stretched out, for in that case each line will hardly see those who precede it; and men who no longer recognize each other meet less and less together, and talk to each other less and less.’

Frantz Fanon, The wretched of the earth

In the night of 21st April 2016, all the windows of La Discordia were smashed with a sledgehammer. Next to them was written one word: ‘racist’.

This is the third time our premises have received this kind of night visit.

Yet again they picked on La Discordia because it publicly expressed a revolutionary non-negotiable refusal of the political blackmail of religion and racialism, which has been weighing on the extreme left since the massacres of 2015 in Paris. It is a question of forbidding a discourse, arrogating oneself the power of deciding who can speak and what they must say. As a whole it is about mafia power games to impose political hegemony over a movement in decline, with the usual moral weapons of guilt and resentment. And while everybody has more or less expressed their support in the face of the two previous ‘attacks’, it is solidarity that we are calling for today. Visible public solidarity where each can put something of themselves rather than all tag along behind the same flag, as our present enemies are doing. So we are not asking anyone to line up behind La Discordia or its particular anarchist perspectives, but rather to widen the question, express the fact that this refusal doesn’t just belong to a few but to all revolutionaries, that it is fundamental to all emancipatory thought. Thousands protest around the world against immigration detention centres

Wednesday, May 11th, 2016

#ShutThemDown

OVER 20 SIMULTANEOUS PROTESTS THROUGHOUT THE UK AND AROUND THE WORLD TO END IMMIGRATION DETENTION CENTRES

THOUSANDS OF ACTIVISTS TOOK PART IN A COORDINATED TRANSNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH DETAINEES; 190 DETAINEES ON HUNGER STRIKE IN HARMONDSWORTH DETENTION CENTRES

A coalition of groups from the UK and around the world joined today (Saturday 7 May) a mass simultaneous protest in 15 detention centres, calling to end immigration detention centres. An international coalition joined forces with groups from all around the UK as well as groups from the US, Spain, Greece, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Iceland, N. Ireland, Belgium, France and Italy. In the UK, thousands took part in the protest in solidarity with the 30,000 adults and children in detention. Protesters held demonstrations at St Pancras train station, held noise demonstration in various detention centres, flew kites so detainees can see them beyond the high walls, danced, sang songs and called for the immediate release of those held against their will without judicial oversight, a time limit, or adequate access to legal support, translation, and healthcare. 7 May : Transnational Day of Solidarity with People in Detention + Protest against Detention Centres

Tuesday, April 26th, 2016

The last few years have seen an immense rise in protests inside and outside of detention centres. On Saturday May 7th, simultaneous demonstrations will be held around the UK and beyond, to protest against the existence of immigration detention centres and show solidarity with the 30,000 adults and children who are being detained against their will under the Immigration Act every year in the UK – without judicial oversight, a time limit, or adequate access to legal support, translation, and healthcare. We will come together with people inside detention to demand the closure of all detention centres and an end to border and migration controls!

May 7th is part of a wider transnational campaign to shut down detention centres and end the inherently abusive and violent system of immigration detention that criminalises, detains, and imprisons people simply because they have chosen or been forced to migrate. Actions also take place in solidarity with wider struggles against borders and migration controls and with people who are living in detention without walls, from Calais to Idomeni. So far actions have been planned across the UK and in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Iceland. (more…)

Targeted rampage of administrative offices of the University of Tolbiac (France)

Monday, April 4th, 2016

Translator’s note: This sabotage took place during the ongoing movement against the “loi Travail” (the work act). The university of Tolbiac is on the frontline of this struggle in Paris. This rampage was commented in the bourgeois press, and some unions already dissociated themselves as can be seen here.

University of Tolbiac, March 22, an occupation of the N lecture hall is planned to hold a general assembly, but cops, security guards and management are all here to prevent it. In a wink, all of them disappear and the door of the lecture hall opens miraculously. We now understand that opportunists of the movement negotiated behind the backs of all. Like what, there are no miracles. It is precisely for this reason that, pissed off, we decided to sabotage these power games.

While students were getting sloshed in their supposedly occupied lecture hall, we decided to have fun in a whole different way. We climbed the 7th floor to ransack administration offices, cutting cables, throwing various liquids on various electronic devices, administrative papers are destroyed and two computers are stolen to be quietly destroyed.

This is the realization of a precise will to not be limited to speaking out, to general assemblies, or demos (whether at 11 or 13:301), but to counter any form of collusion with power, all powers.

Let’s prevent the law from working.

Some enraged of another 22 March2.

Translated from Attaque.

1
. TN : Since the beginning of the movement, in Paris, the “unorganised” demos generally starts at 11, while the unions starts at 13:30.

2. TN : Probably a reference to the Movement of 22 March 1968.

Paris: “We live to tread on kings” from ‘Lucioles n°24’ (France)

Tuesday, March 29th, 2016

‘O gentlemen, the time of life is short;…
An if we live, we live to tread on kings;’

Bodies covered with tarpaulins, sheets, littering the terraces of various cafés… The horror of the slaughter that took place in that hall. It’s surreal.

Unable to do anything in that situation. In the name of their religion these god-crazed fanatics put a bullet indiscriminately in all the living unfortunate enough to cross their path. Super-trained suicide bombers that self-appointed religious leaders have promised will go to heaven, taking with them the greatest number of people possible in their killing spree. And the sole purpose of all this is to impose terror. To make those who live in a peaceful society, far from the battles that the army conducts against a nation they have not chosen, smell the smell of blood. To punish a population because a State has decided to conduct a war, hold people responsible who had no say in these decisions. Revenge of a State, in the most cowardly and easy way, not touching those concerned, but breaking eggs to make a show of force by making a bloody omelette. (more…)

Montreuil-sous-Bois: Arson attack against ‘Archi 5’ studio of prison architecture in solidarity to Monica and Francisco (France)

Monday, March 21st, 2016

On the night between 8 and 9 March 2016, using dumped garbage and flammable products, we set fire to the front of the architect’s studio in Archi 5, rue Voltaire in the centre of Montreuil-sous-Bois.

On its website Archi 5 boasts of having achieved, or being in the act of achieving, alongside innocuous buildings, the following list of gruesome projects:

The prisons of Bourg en Bresse, of Draguignan, of Mont de Marsan, of Rennes, the jail of Condé-sur-Sarthe and Vendin the Veil, the Pole of the Judicial Police of Cergy-Pontoise, the police station in Clichy-sous-Bois, the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Chartres, the detention centre of French Polynesia in Tahiti.

We dedicate this action to all those fight for freedom and against all authority, especially the anarchist comrades Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar in the clutches of the Spanish State and are risking very heavy prison sentences, do not deny a word of what they think and what they are.

Fire to the prisons.
Fire to those who build them.
