    Funding the NHS properly is perfectly "affordable". Government has made an explicit policy choice not to do so.

    The sooner Theresa May has a fireside chat with the British people about what the NHS can afford and what it cannot, the better. She needs to look like she’s in charge of a strategy rather than at mercy of events. This, not , most likely to cost Tories the next election.

    I must admit I have become profoundly uneasy about my children watching YouTube

    Having spent 12 years working in kids TV (first Nickelodeon and then CBBC) and seeing the thought and care that goes into providing content for young people, there needs to be some serious questions asked about how You Tube functions.

    How British politics works: as editor of the Spectator, Boris Johnson commissioned Toby Young as a writer. Now Boris's brother, Jo Johnson, a Cabinet minister, gives Young a public sector job. Boris, now also a Cabinet minister, endorses the appointment

    Remember. The NHS crisis is not the fault of politicians who’ve been in power for seven years, inherited a record patient satisfaction level & has been repeatedly warned of a £30 billion shortfall. It is the fault of doctors, nurses, immigrants & Gordon Brown.

    Why Grayling’s bailout of Stagecoach/Virgin won’t die down: just look at the scale of the handout, at the taxpayers’ expense!

    Stagecoach/Virgin were due to pay £353m in 2020, £460m in 2021, £560m in 2022 &£645m in 2023 as part of Eastcoast contract. In shocking case of corporate welfare Grayling allowed them to duck out.That's over £2b lost to us. Stagecoach share price jumped 12%. Fares will rise 3.6%

    Since taking office I have been very strict on Commercial Aviation. Good news - it was just reported that there were Zero deaths in 2017, the best and safest year on record!
