Marc Nelson
Marc Nelson (born January 23, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American singer-songrwriter, pianist, and musician. His mother was the late R&B/Dance singer Phyllis Nelson, known for the songs "I Like You" and "Move Closer". He was an original member of Boyz II Men while still attending Philadelphia's High School of Performing Artshowever, Nelson left the group to pursue a solo career, before they released their first album.
Boyz II Men
Nelson attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, in Pennsylvania. There, he and his friend Nathan Morris, joined later by Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Michael McCary, formed the singing group Unique Attraction. After hearing New Edition's song "Boys to Men" on the radio one evening, the group changed their name to Boyz II Men. In 1989, the group met Michael Bivins and began making arrangements to sign the group to a major label and begin recording. In the interim, the group encountered delays in recording their album. Nelson grew impatient and left the group and began recording his debut solo project.

John Mark Nelson
John Mark Nelson (born November 23, 1993) is a songwriter and producer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. John Mark Nelson quietly released his debut album Still Here in 2011. His second release, Waiting and Waiting, was released in August 2012. In June 2014, Nelson released his third album, Sings The Moon, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign that helped him fund the project. His fourth full-length album, I'm Not Afraid, was released in September 2015 on GRNDWIRE Records.
Early life
Nelson was born in Laguna Beach on November 23, 1993. He attended Minnetonka High School and graduated there in 2012.
History
2011: Still Here
Nelson grew up around music, as his immediate family was composed of musicians. When he has 14 years old, Nelson started to learn instruments and arrange original compositions. At 17, he spent the fall and the winters crafting songs at home, and in 2011, he put this record together and released his first full length, Still Here released independently on 29 December, 2011. He does not have the intention to be a songwriter.

The Jockstrap Raiders is a animated short film about a group of misfits during world war I. It takes place in Leeds, England where our heroes are all excluded from the war due to various abnormalities. Threatened by the invading German Kaiser and his army, they must learn to become a team and overcome their deficiencies in order to save Britain, and the world.
Completed at UCLA, it is Mark Nelson's MFA thesis project. The short has won many awards, including: Student Academy Award; Best Animation, British Animation Festival; Best Animation Macon Film Festival; Best Narrative Short GI Film Festival; Audience Award Orlando Film Festival.For more information please visit:

After a Q&A; session with 89.3 The Current's Dave Campbell, Nelson and his stripped-down band (which includes MSCM alum Kara Loudon on keys and vocals) took the stage and delivered a rousing hour-long set that included well-known songs "Boy," "The Moon and the Stars," "Reminisce" and "Rain Comes Down," as well as the title cut song from Loudon's recently-released debut album "I Wasn't Born."

The Sound Bite Concert Series brings FREE performances by prominent national and local music acts to McNally Smith’s downtown St. Paul campus. [New Jack Swing/Funk/Soul/RnB/R&B;] Here is RnB/Swing artist Marc Nelson with his first album titled: "I Want You". A must listen for fans of New Jack Swing music as it is kind of obscure and fell quite under the radar. I feel somewhat bad for the career path Nelson has made because this album proves that he is right up there with R. Kelly and/or Aaron Hall. Marc K. Nelson is an american singer, producer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Nelson is the son of Phyllis Nelson, best-known for her dance hit "I Like You" in 1985. He was one of the original members of Boyz II Men while still a student at Philadelphia's renowned High School of Performing Arts. After getting a solo deal with Capitol for this album, Nelson found a hit with his cover of Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" (Track 1) and the follow-up "Count On Me" (Track 4) also charted pretty high. This album was issued in September 1991, though afterwards, Nelson concentrated on developing his craft as a songwriter. After superstar writer/producer/artist Babyface heard about his talents with this excellent album, Nelson found himself knee-deep in outside projects; thus he has written songs for all the heavy hitters of the late 90's R&B; craze such as Toni Braxton, Brandy, Jon B, Tyrese, Tamia, Keith Washington, Aaron Neville, and Babyface. Nelson also appeared on a duet with Beyonce Knowles (Beyonce) for the movie soundtrack to "The Best Man" in 1999. After that he released two more albums and that is pretty much about it. I assume he is doing something musically productive today though i can't seem to find anything. It's a shame, he is musically talented yet ended up writing for other people when he should have been the one fronting. This album was released under Capitol Records and Orpheus Productions '91.

[New Jack Swing/Funk/Soul/RnB/R&B;] Here is RnB/Swing artist Marc Nelson with his first album titled: "I Want You". A must listen for fans of New Jack Swing music as it is kind of obscure and fell quite under the radar. I feel somewhat bad for the career path Nelson has made because this album proves that he is right up there with R. Kelly and/or Aaron Hall. Marc K. Nelson is an american singer, producer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Nelson is the son of Phyllis Nelson, best-known for her dance hit "I Like You" in 1985. He was one of the original members of Boyz II Men while still a student at Philadelphia's renowned High School of Performing Arts. After getting a solo deal with Capitol for this album, Nelson found a hit with his cover of Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" (Track 1) and the follow-up "Count On Me" (Track 4) also charted pretty high. This album was issued in September 1991, though afterwards, Nelson concentrated on developing his craft as a songwriter. After superstar writer/producer/artist Babyface heard about his talents with this excellent album, Nelson found himself knee-deep in outside projects; thus he has written songs for all the heavy hitters of the late 90's R&B; craze such as Toni Braxton, Brandy, Jon B, Tyrese, Tamia, Keith Washington, Aaron Neville, and Babyface. Nelson also appeared on a duet with Beyonce Knowles (Beyonce) for the movie soundtrack to "The Best Man" in 1999. After that he released two more albums and that is pretty much about it. I assume he is doing something musically productive today though i can't seem to find anything. It's a shame, he is musically talented yet ended up writing for other people when he should have been the one fronting. This album was released under Capitol Records and Orpheus Productions '91.
