Ukrainian filmmakers are filming short motivation movies about entrepreneurs from eastern Ukraine for a video contest called “Big Stories of Small Businesses” run by the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine (UNDP) and the Molodiya Social Advertising Festival. According to the contest’s rules, filmmakers are to film videos about the success stories of entrepreneurs who won a grant from UNDP to launch or develop a business in eastern Ukraine.
UNDP in Ukraine and the government of Japan have repaired the roof of a kindergarten in the frontline city of Svitlodarsk in Donetsk Oblast. Kindergarten No. 10, “The Rainbow”, was severely damaged by shelling during military hostilities in the winter of 2015.
UNDP in Ukraine has analyzed the procurement it conducted with the funds of 2016 state budget. According to the results, share of medicines bought directly from manufacturers comprised 71%, in contrast to 90% of the Ministry of Health tenders won by distributors in 2014 and earlier years - before the international procurement of medicines was introduced.

The orphanage in Pokrovsk was built in 1944 and required repairs and improvements to its energy efficiency. In April 2017, the UNDP, with financial support from the government of Japan, started renovation work. Now that the works are completed, the centre can house up to 40 children.
Youth Innovations Contest U-Inn to support democracy and human rights in Ukraine

#ReinventRespect Information Campaign to promote tolerance and social cohesion
UNDP in Ukraine and Intenational Center for Political Studies launches #ReinventRespect information campaign to support tolerance and social cohesion in Ukrainain society.
The initiative aims to promote dialogue between the different social groups. To this end, 12 UNDP tolerance envoys were appointed who will participate in thematic events and spread the tolerance message.
