Artists from many nations investigate the relationship between art, the public realm, and the urban environment and develop new, site-specific works for the public. From 10 June to 1 October 2017, approximately thirty new artistic concepts covering a spectrum from classical sculpture to performance art will inscribe themselves into the urban space of Münster.

At the beginning of 2017, the city of Aachen, Bonn and the Hanseatic city of Lübeck entered the association of historic German cities, the Historic Highlights of Germany. The association, which has been active abroad for decades, is enhanced by the three new member cities and is also celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017. All cities represent the diversity of Germany, the country's history, local traditions, culinary delights and enable travelers to meet people, enjoy their way of life.
