If anyone's ever questioned the "French" contribution to punk, then check out this gem from the Bruce Rhodes collection.
You get four tracks, kicking off with the excellent "Chinese Gangster", I love this track, and its been difficult for me to listen to the other three as I had this on loop ever since Bruce sent it. It's got a nice guitar riff and then brilliant catchy harmonies, I dare you not to like this one.
Next up is "Broken windows" which is not quite as good as "Chinese Gangster" but very close. "Crapy Hands" is the third track, which for me is the weakest track of the four, but considering how good it still is, it tells you how good this ep is. Last up is "Accident" which reminded Bruce of "David Bowie" for me there is signs of Velvet Undergrounds "I'm waiting for my man", well I think it does, any one else agree or disagree?
As usual we leave it to you to tell ASFM whats your favourite track and what do you think of the "Warm Gun".
Band: Warm Gun
Label: Isadora
Year: 1977
1. Chinese Gangster
2. Broken Windows
3. Crapy Hands
4. Accident
Ripped from Bruce's glorious scratched vinyl
If you like this, I'm not sure if there is anything else by "Warm Gun", (does anyone know?) and a word of warning do not mix up with "The Warm Guns", a completely different band (well they sound different).
…and now for something completely different! 2217 - 2023
