Devo - Jocko Homo

Question: Are We Not Men?

Answer: We are Devo

They had to be one of the strangest bands around. This was their debut single released in 1997, and what a debut. Both sides are weird but excellent.

Devo went on to release further excellent songs, but after this one they definitely became more commercial

Another pesky fold out sleeve, which I have scanned. The lyrics are on the inside, so as usual I have copied them in higher resolution for you to sing along. The record label has Booji boy records, but there is also a small sticker on the front with Stiff Records and cat number DEV1.

The question and answer at the beginning of this post is also etched on the single in tiny letters (the smallest etching I have ever seen).

Band: Devo

Devo - Come Back Jonee 7"

I think this was Devo's 5th single (anyone?) and the first released on Virgin. Come back Jonee is readily available. But as is often the way with 7" singles, the b-side 'Social Fools' has only just been released on the reissue of their debut album, which is a little annoying when you already have a copy. There is another version (not so good) on the album 'Hardcore Volume 1 1974-77.

Both tracks are brilliant, but Social Fools is my favourite, and if you like Devo you will love this. The lyrics are on the back so a high resolution scan is included as usual.

This time they continue their weirdness with the cover, as you can see from the scans you get a free sticker which you can stick on the heard of the statue to complete the picture!!!.
