Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), better known by his stage names The Notorious B.I.G, Biggie, or Biggie Smalls, was an American rapper. Murdered at age 24, Wallace is consistently ranked as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time.
Wallace was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. When he released his debut album Ready to Die in 1994, he became a central figure in the East Coast hip hop scene and increased New York's visibility in the genre at a time when West Coast hip hop was dominant in the mainstream. The following year, Wallace led his childhood friends to chart success through his protégé group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. While recording his second album, Wallace was heavily involved in the growing East Coast–West Coast hip hop feud.
On March 9, 1997, Wallace was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His double-disc album Life After Death, released 16 days later, rose to No. 1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000, one of the few hip hop albums to receive this certification. Wallace was noted for his "loose, easy flow", dark semi-autobiographical lyrics and storytelling abilities. Two more albums have been released since his death. He has certified sales of 17 million units in the United States.
Tom Stræte Lagergren (born 29 May, 1991), commonly known by his stage name Matoma, is a Norwegian DJ and record producer of tropical house from Flisa, Norway.
Lagergren started playing the piano as a child. During that period, he won a contest to perform alongside Norwegian pianists Håvard Gimse and Leif Ove Andsnes. As he grew tired of classical piano, Lagergren began mixing on his computer. He holds a bachelors degree in Music Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
The Remix "Free Fallin Tropical Mojito Remix (John Mayer Tribute)" was produced with associated tropical-house-music-producer Nelsaan and got published at Matomas 23rd birthday.
After the release of Marlon Roudette's "When the Beat Drops Out" in July 2014 Matoma was engaged by Universal Germany to make a remix of it. "Marlon Roudette - When The Beat Drops Out (Matoma Tropical Remix)" was released in August, 2014.
His remix of "Old Thing Back" by The Notorious B.I.G. became popular when it charted in Norway peaking at number two on VG-lista, the official Norwegian singles chart. It also charted highly in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and New Zealand. It reached number 1 on the music blog aggregator Hype Machine with many record companies including Big Beat Records expressing interest in Matoma's work after hearing the remix. Ja Rule, who is featured on the original track, also tweeted that he loved the track. He also remixed the song "Bailando" at the request of Enrique Iglesias' team.
O'Shea Jackson, Sr. (born June 15, 1969), known by his stage name Ice Cube, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and filmmaker. He began his career as a member of the hip-hop group C.I.A. and later joined the seminal gangster rap group N.W.A (Niggaz Wit Attitudes). After leaving N.W.A in December 1989, he built a successful solo career in music and films. Additionally, he has served as one of the producers of the Showtime television series Barbershop and the TBS series Are We There Yet?, both of which are based upon films in which he portrayed the main character.
Ice Cube is noted as a proficient lyricist and storyteller and is regarded as a brutally honest rapper; his lyrics are often political or socio-political, as well as violent and aggressive, and he is considered one of the founding artists in gangsta rap. He was ranked #8 on MTV's list of the 10 Greatest MCs of All Time, while fellow rapper Snoop Dogg ranked Ice Cube as the greatest MC of all time. AllMusic has called him one of hip-hop's best and most controversial artists, as well as "one of rap's greatest storytellers". In 2012, The Source ranked him #14 on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time. In 2014, About.com ranked him No. 11 on their list of the "50 Greatest MCs of All Time".

Faith Renée Evans (born June 10, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actress, and author. Born in Florida and raised in New Jersey, Evans relocated to Los Angeles in 1993 for a career in the music business. After working as a backing vocalist for Al B. Sure and Christopher Williams, she became the first female artist to contract with Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment recording company in 1994, for which she collaborated with several label mates such as Mary J. Blige and Carl Thomas and released three platinum-certified studio albums between 1995 and 2001, including Faith (1995), Keep the Faith (1998) and Faithfully (2001).
In 2003, she ended her relationship with the company to sign with Capitol Records. Her first album released on the label, The First Lady (2005) became her highest-charting album at the time, reaching the top of the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, while the holiday album A Faithful Christmas, released the same year, would become her last release before the company was bought in 2007. Following a longer hiatus, Evans released her fifth album Something About Faith on the independent label Prolific/E1 Music in 2010.
Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper and actor from Long Beach, California. His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre of N.W.A and, as a result, was prominently featured throughout Dr. Dre's solo debut album, The Chronic (1992). He has since sold over 21 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records, debuting at number one on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle became certified 4× platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name?" and "Gin & Juice". In 1994, Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film Murder Was The Case, starring himself. His second album Tha Doggfather (1996), also debuted at number one on both charts with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head", as the lead single. The album was certified double platinum in 1997.

http://www.streetgangs.com/hip-hop/040410_biggie Sometime in 1996 (around Lil Cease birthday?) Notorious BIG did this interview with Uncle Luke on his Peep Show that aired on cable during the mid 1999s. He talks about his second album, Life After Death, being released on October 31, 1996 for Haloween and he talks about the conflict with his then rival Tupac Shakur. Shortly after this interview, Tupac Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas. During the interview, a stripper who is 100% nude with her vagina pierced is standing on the table dancing in front of the three men. Since vagina piercing was not as common in those days, Luke calls it a "hook." The sister must have been one of the first to get it pierced because the US piercing craze really took off in the late 1990s with navels and ...
Media coverage from 4 different networks Sunday March 9 1997.
There’s somethin’ I wanna say
Try and understand
There’s another in my life
He’s my lover and I’m your wife
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
I was too blind, blind to see
I never thought, never thought it could happen to me
Then I knew (Yeah) things had changed
‘Cause when we made love, you called out his name
So much tension
‘Cause we’re livin’ a lie by and by
Whoa, whoa, whoa, not to mention
Can we give it a try
The truth’s so, so very hard to say, ooh, baby
This pain I feel grows each day
Can we find a way
So much tension
‘Cause we’re livin’ a lie by and by
Whoa, whoa, whoa, not to mention
Can we give it a try
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
You, me and he
What we gonna do, baby
I don’t wanna let you go
