Inheritance

Inheritance is the practice of passing on property, titles, debts, rights and obligations upon the death of an individual. It has long played an important role in human societies. The rules of inheritance differ between societies and have changed over time.

Terminology

In law, an heir is a person who is entitled to receive a share of the deceased's (the person who died) property, subject to the rules of inheritance in the jurisdiction where the deceased (decedent) died or owned property at the time of death. A person does not become an heir before the death of the deceased, since the exact identity of the persons entitled to inherit is determined only then. Members of ruling noble or royal houses expected to become heirs are called heirs apparent if first in line and incapable of being displaced from inheriting by another claim; otherwise, they are heirs presumptive. There is a further concept of joint inheritance, pending renunciation by all but one, which is called coparceny.

The Heirs

The Heirs (왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라 – 상속자들), also known as The Inheritors, is a South Korean television series starring Park Shin-hye, Lee Min-ho and Kim Woo-bin. Written by Kim Eun-sook, the trendy drama is set in a high school populated by the privileged and uber-rich. It aired on SBS from October 9 to December 12, 2013 on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 22:00 for 20 episodes.

This was the first Korean drama co-produced by American digital distribution platform DramaFever and Korean production company Hwa & Dam Pictures.

Plot

The series follows a group of rich, privileged, and elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families' business empires. These wealthy students seem to have everything under control, except their love lives. Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) is a handsome and wealthy heir to a large Korean conglomerate who is sent to study abroad in the U.S. But in reality, it's a form of exile, as his elder half-brother back home, Kim Won (Choi Jin-hyuk) schemes to take over the family business. While in the States, Kim Tan bumps into Cha Eun-sang (Park Shin-hye), who has arrived from Korea in search of her older sister who claims that she is in need of money for her wedding. When Kim Tan's fiancée, Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji-won), arrives to bring him back to Korea, his heart is torn between love and duty. Both Eun-sang and Kim Tan return to Korea. Slowly, he finds himself falling for her, later realizing that she's the daughter of his family's mute housekeeper. Meanwhile, Rachel's future stepbrother and Kim Tan's former best friend, Choi Young-do (Kim Woo-bin) (who also go to the same school as Kim Tan and Eun-sang) starts falling for Eun-sang as well. Troubles arise as the heirs realize the differences between money and the real world and they soon learn what love is.

Jiang Xin

Jiang Xin (simplified Chinese: 蒋欣; traditional Chinese: 蔣欣; born May 8, 1983), also known by her English name Rulu Jiang, is a Chinese actress.

Life and career

Jiang Xin entered Zhengzhou City's Children Arts Group at age 7 and Henan Children Arts Group at 8. She later graduated from Henan Arts School Film with a major in performance. At age 9, Jiang Xin began acting in television series; till now, she has participated in 18 Film and TV series.

After appearing as the child counterpart of Qiao Qingxiu in the TV series Queen Zhui Zi, Jiang Xin received a warm welcome nationwide and became a famous Henan Child star. Later, during the shooting of Big Feet Queen Ma, Jiang Xin ran around several different shooting groups at the same time without any complaints. She was highly appreciated by Director Zhou Xiaowen and was praised as a diligent actress.

In 2011, Jiang Xin starred as Consort Hua in the television series:The Legend of Zhen Huan. She won the "Best Supporting Actress" Awards at the 2012 TV Drama Awards Made In China for her performance in The Legend of Zhen Huan.

Clipped

Clipped is a video featuring five tracks by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. First released in 1991, it contained three tracks from The Razors Edge and two from Blow Up Your Video.

In 2002 a DVD version was released which also included videos for the songs "Big Gun" (from the Last Action Hero soundtrack) and "Hard as a Rock" (from Ballbreaker).

The photograph on the cover was first used in 1990 for the single "Are You Ready".

Hawick Lau

Hawick Lau (劉愷威; born 13 October 1974) is a Hong Kong Chinese actor and singer, most famous for his performances in the TVB series A Kindred Spirit, Virtues of Harmony and its sequel Virtues of Harmony II, My Family, and Master of Destiny.

He is the son of Hong Kong actor Lau Dan, with whom he co-starred in A Kindred Spirit, Virtues of Harmony and Virtues of Harmony II. In A Kindred Spirit, they actually played father and son. His wife is Yang Mi and he acted alongside her in the TV show Clear Midsummer Night (2012), where their characters were also lovers.

Hawick grew up in Hong Kong,China, but he travelled throughout Asia with his father when he would do promotions and performances for the shows he starred in. Hawick studied architecture at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada before returning to Hong Kong to pursue his acting career.

He is also a singer, having released several albums in the late 1990s, but they were not as successful as his acting career. When he debuted in the late 1990s, TVB had named him as one of the five New Young Dragons – a group of young actors that the network to push to turn into stars.
