Art of the Cover - Halseys "BADLANDS" {Deluxe Edition} (2015)

A hypnotic new voice emerges on this atmospheric pop breakthrough ....

Halsey is the alias of New York-based artist Ashley Frangipane. The New Jersey native took her moniker from a New York L train subway stop and her adopted city plays a large role in both the sound and lyrics of her gritty, dark electro-pop which has been compared to acts like Chvrches and Lorde

Based on the strength of her first single, "Ghost," she signed a deal with Capitol-owned electronic/dance label Astralwerks in early 2014.

Her acclaimed debut EP, Room 93, arrived in October of that same year.

The Cover Version - Nirvana & Lorde do “All Apologies”

I wish I was like you; easily amused

Oh Lorde!

What else should she be? ... All apologies!

Donning Don Johnson's worst Miami Vice suit (and very little else), the insanely over-hyped Kiwi chick bizarrely becomes Kurt for five minutes.

Yap, fronting for Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic at the Nirvana's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony the other night,  Lorde blasts out a version of the classic “All Apologies”.

Interesting work by Krist here. Seems like accordion is where it's at now in the realm of alternative rock music!
