Big Picture: The Seventh Army Story
Today the major American ground force in Europe is the Seventh Army. It is a combat-ready fighting force--with traditions and standards of which it can be proud. In telling its story, THE BIG PICTURE goes back to July 1943, when the Seventh was one of the great armies formed to crack the walls of fortress Europe. Film viewers will see the Seventh born at sea, on the way to its first campaign--the invasion of the not-so-soft underbelly of Europe. Its target-- Sicily. Commanded by General Alexander M. Patch--a soldier who roamed his front lines--the Seventh anticipated the German operation "Northwind" which came on New Year's Eve 1944 and continued for 23 days. Today, in exercises such as WINTERSHIELD in Germany, the Seventh trains with other NATO forces. The training emphasis is on combat readiness, and the training continues in terrain and under weather conditions as rugged as any Seventh Army encountered during World War II. Today this Army stands ready--a pyramid of fighting strength--to resist aggression.

Army
An army (from Latin arma "arms, weapons" via Old French armée, "armed" (feminine)) or ground force is a fighting force that fights primarily on land. In the broadest sense, it is the land-based military branch, service branch or armed service of a nation or state. It may also include other branches of the military such as the air force via means of aviation corps. Within a national military force, the word army may also mean a field army. They differ from army reserves who are activated only during such times as war or natural disasters.
In several countries, the army is officially called the Land Army to differentiate it from an air force called the Air Army, notably France. In such countries, the word "army" on its own retains its connotation of a land force in common usage. The current largest army in the world, by number of active troops, is the People's Liberation Army of China with 2,250,000 active troops and 800,000 reserve personnel followed by the Indian Army with 1,129,000 active troops and 2,142,900 reserve personnel.

Seven Nation Army
"Seven Nation Army" (also stylized as "7 Nation Army") is a song by American rock duo The White Stripes. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Elephant, on March 7, 2003, and reached number one on the Modern Rock Tracks—maintaining that position for three weeks. It also became the third best-performing song of the decade on the same chart. It was well received commercially as well, and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.
The song is known for its underlying riff, which plays throughout most of the song. Although it sounds like a bass guitar (an instrument the group had never previously used), the sound is actually created by running Jack White's semi-acoustic, 1950s-style Kay Hollowbody guitar through a DigiTech Whammy pedal set down an octave. A combination of the song's popularity, recognizable riff, and defiant lyrics led to it becoming the band's signature song, and has been used widely at sporting events and political protests internationally.

Short range air defense training at 7th Army Training Command’s Grafenwoehr Training Area
An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) known as the RQ-11 Raven, was flying in the clear blue sky over the 7th Army Training Command’s Grafenwoehr Training Area while Soldiers were practicing short-range air defense (SHORAD) techniques during the Maneuver-Stinger (M-Stinger) course, Aug. 29. The Chief of Staff of the Army directed the Army to execute a plan to increase SHORAD assets in maneuver formations based on the rising threat capabilities using Unmanned Aircraft Systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and cruise missiles. The M-Stinger course is the first line of effort of SHORAD integration. “This course really addresses a capability that’s needed here in Europe, primarily to fix some of the gaps we have with short-range air defense,” said Brig. The 7th Army NCO Academy mission is to train and develop future leaders who are adaptive, disciplined and ready to lead effectively at the squad and team levels. We inspire Soldiers to be creative problem-solvers, physically fit, resilient and grounded in Army Values and the Warrior Ethos. We foster a positive environment that emphasizes life-long learning, adaptation, collaboration and critical thinking. At the NCO Academy in Grafenwoehr, Germany, we train U.S., Allied and partner nation soldiers using the Basic Leader Course curriculum from the Sergeants Major Academy. Our Academy is a 22-day branch-immaterial course, which includes three modules and 169 academic hours. We offer nine cycles per year, averaging 256-324 students per course.

The 7th Infantry Division was an infantry division of the United States Army. It was activated in December 1917 in World War I, inactivated in August 2006 following the end of the Cold War, and based at Fort Ord, California for most of its history. Although elements of the division saw brief active service in World War I, it is best known for its participation in the Pacific Ocean theater of World War II where it took heavy casualties engaging the Imperial Japanese Army in the Aleutian Islands, Leyte, and Okinawa.
Following the Japanese surrender in 1945, the division was stationed in Japan and Korea, and with the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 was one of the first units in action. It took part in the Inchon Landings and the advance north until Chinese forces counter-attacked and almost overwhelmed the scattered division. The 7th later went on to fight in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill and the Battle of Old Baldy.
After the Korean War ended, the division returned to the United States. In the late 1980s, it briefly saw action overseas in Operation Golden Pheasant in Honduras and Operation Just Cause in Panama. In the early 1990s, it provided domestic support to the civil authorities in Operation Green Sweep and during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. The division's final role was as a training and evaluation unit for Army National Guard brigades, which it undertook until its inactivation in 2006. On April 26th 2012, the DOD announced a new two star HQ will be added to the US Army at Joint Base Lewis- McChord. The Headquarters will be designated 7th Infantry Division Headquarters and will activate on October 1st, 2012..
Elements of the 7th Infantry Division first saw combat in the amphibious assault on Attu Island, the western-most Japanese entrenchment in the Aleutian islands chain. Elements landed on 11 May 1943, spearheaded by the 17th Infantry Regiment. Initially the landings were unopposed, but Japanese forces mounted a counteroffensive the next day, and the 7th Infantry Division fought an intense battle over the tundra against strong Japanese resistance... The fight for the island culminated in a battle at Chichagof Harbor, when the division destroyed all Japanese resistance on the island on 29 May, after a suicidal Japanese bayonet charge. During its first fight of the war, 600 soldiers of the division were killed, while killing 2,351 Japanese and taking 28 prisoners...
American forces then began preparing to move against nearby Kiska island, termed Operation Cottage, the final fight in the Aleutian islands campaign...

After the campaign, the division moved to Hawaii where it trained in new amphibious assault techniques on the island of Maui, before returning to Schofield Barracks on Oahu for brief leave... The division left Pearl Harbor on 22 January 1944, for an offensive on Japanese territory. On 30 January 1944, the division landed on islands in the Kwajalein Atoll in conjunction with the 4th Marine Division, code named Operation Flintlock... The victory put V Amphibious Corps in control of all 47 islands in the atoll. The 7th Infantry Division suffered 176 killed and 767 wounded...

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) known as the RQ-11 Raven, was flying in the clear blue sky over the 7th Army Training Command’s Grafenwoehr Training Area while Soldiers were practicing short-range air defense (SHORAD) techniques during the Maneuver-Stinger (M-Stinger) course, Aug. 29.
The Chief of Staff of the Army directed the Army to execute a plan to increase SHORAD assets in maneuver formations based on the rising threat capabilities using Unmanned Aircraft Systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and cruise missiles.
The M-Stinger course is the first line of effort of SHORAD integration.
“This course really addresses a capability that’s needed here in Europe, primarily to fix some of the gaps we have with short-range air defense,” said Brig. Gen. Randall McIntire, the air defense artillery commandant. “So as we try to grow the air defense artillery and reduce the risk to the maneuver force, this became imperative to train the maneuver force on stinger operations.”
Six Soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade and 20 from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2CR) were the first Soldiers in the Army to receive SHORAD training brought to Europe from the Air Defense Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
The five-week course, July 31 to September 1, is the same course that initial entry Soldiers would go through to be awarded the Air and Missile Defense Crewmember (14P) military occupational specialty.
“We’re teaching non air defense soldiers how to fire an air defense weapon system and complete an air defense mission,” said Staff Sgt. Aaron Gonzales, an M-Stinger instructor.
The course curriculum included subjects like visual aircraft recognition, targeting engagement and destroying enemy targets and tactical employment of the weapon system.
The culminating event required the students to employ all tactics learned as well as to be able to brief those tactics to their commander.
“From what we learned in the course, we can explain to them how to use it and how to use us,” said Sgt. Nicolas Kotchenreurther, a student from 2CR.
Gaining the new skill isn’t for just any Soldier; they would need to fit certain criteria that would make them the best fit to operate the 36-pound Stinger Missile weapon.
“The students in the course need to have the mental agility to be able to think on their feet,” said 1LT Shawn Martinez, the officer in charge of the course. “The decisions they make with this weapon system has a very big impact, so they need to be responsible and smart enough to identify types of aircraft and to distinguish between enemy and friendly aircraft.”
The newly trained Soldiers gained a new skill that makes them even more valuable to their units.
“It allows the army to develop new capabilities and build platforms for future forces,” said McIntire. “What we’re doing today is initial steps to restoring old capability and adapting it to meet our purposes today with the intent of bringing on new and improved capabilities in the future.”

basically Jimin and Taehyung are killers/murderers and they killed Namjoons crew member Jin. Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok wants to kill the ones who killed Jin, but they don't want to do that by themselves, so they were looking for a killer that could kill Taehyung and Jimin. Jungkook is one of the best killers in town.They hired him and offered a lot of money, but Jungkook dont take money for killing people because he enjoy doing that, its likes his hobby. Everything else is simple haha: Jungkook founded Jimin and Taehyung and killed them.

For a training exercise, it is stipulated that the US has been divided into three nations, Weston, Easton, and Floridan. Easton has turned communist. Weston is still a capitalist democracy. The 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) is an operational unit of the United States Army Special Forces activated on 20 May 1960. It was reorganized from the 77th Special Forces Group, which was also stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Its purpose is to conduct guerrilla operations and train friendly governments' armed forces in the South, Central, and North America as well as the Caribbean. 7th Special Forces Group participated in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983, as well as in Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989. The 7th SFG has, like all the SFGs, been heavily deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the War on Terrorism...
The 7th Group was active early in the Vietnam War, first operating in Laos (Operation White Star), and later in other global Cold War operations in addition to South East Asia (Laos, Thailand, and South Vietnam). 7th Group was also the first unit in South Vietnam to have a member earn a Medal of Honor, Captain Roger Donlon...
Throughout the 1980s, 7th Special Forces Group played a critical advisory role for the El Salvadoran armed forces, which grew from a force of 12,000 to a total of 55,000 men. The Salvadoran military became a highly trained counter-insurgency force under the tutelage of 7th Group.
The 7th Special Forces Group also played a very important role in preparing the Honduran military to resist and defeat an invasion from Nicaragua. 7th Group also trained the Honduran military in counter-insurgency tactics, which enabled Honduras to defeat the Honduran communist-backed guerrillas.
7th Special Forces Group also became involved in counter narcotics operations in the Andean Ridge countries of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. The goal was not just to stop the flow of drugs into the United States, but to stem the violence that resulted from the drug trade in those countries.

Since early 2002, the 7th SFG has deployed almost nonstop in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. 7th SFG along with the 3rd Special Forces Group are the two SFGs responsible for conducting operations in Afghanistan. The 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) is an operational unit of the United States Army Special Forces activated on 20 May 1960. It was reorganized from the 77th Special Forces Group, which was also stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Its purpose is to conduct guerrilla operations and train friendly governments' armed forces in the South, Central, and North America as well as the Caribbean. 7th Special Forces Group participated in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983, as well as in Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989. The production version of the tactical missile was later designated as MGM-31A and the XMTM-31B designation was dropped.

Two Thiokol solid-propellant motors powered the Pershing 1 missile. Since a solid-propellant motor cannot be turned off, the missile used thrust reversal and case venting for selective range. Splice bands and explosive bolts attached the rocket motors. As directed by the onboard guidance computer, the bolts exploded and ejected the splice band. Another squib would open the thrust reversal ports in the forward end of the stage and ignite the propellant in the forward end, causing the motor to reverse direction. Testing found that the second stage would draft behind the warhead and cause it to drift off course, so explosive charges on the side of the motor opened the case and vented the propellant. The range could be graduated but the maximum was 740 kilometres (400 nmi). Jet vanes in the motor nozzles and air vanes on the motor case steered the missile. The onboard analog guidance computer and the Eclipse-Pioneer ST-120 (Stable Table-120) inertial navigation system provided guidance. The warhead could be conventional explosive or a W50 nuclear weapon with three yield options— the Y1 with 60 kiloton yield, Y2 with 200 kiloton yield and Y3 with 400 kiloton yield; the conventional warhead was never deployed.

The British employed the American Major Robert Rogers to make long-range attacks against the French and their Indian allies along the frontiers of the British colonies and New France. The achievements of Major Roberts' dozen companies of approximately 1,200 men during the French and Indian War were so extraordinary that his doctrine, "Standing Orders, Rogers' Rangers," 1759, became the cornerstone of future U.S. Army Long-range Reconnaissance Patrol units, including the U.S. Army Rangers, and indeed, the Special Operations light infantry community.
The US Army long-range reconnaissance patrol concept was created in 1956 by the 11th Airborne Division in Augsburg, Germany. They patrolled near the Czechoslovakian and East German borders, then members of the Communist Warsaw Pact states, and in event of war in Europe would be inserted behind enemy lines to provide surveillance and to select targets of opportunity. The LRRP concept was well known throughout the Army though concentrated in 7th Army in Germany. Provisional LRRP Companies made up of both trained LRRPs and regular soldiers were put together for a series of exercises called Wintershield and proved themselves in the field. In 1965 these companies developed the first LRRP Table of Organization and Equipment and in doing so increased their strength to 208 men, team size from 4 to 5 men, as well as adding an organic transport component. All LRRPs from team leader and above were to be Ranger qualified. The experiences of these two companies formed the basis of the first US Army LRRP manual. Both companies used carrier wave radios including the AN/TRC-77 for long-range communications to their respective Corps G2 (Intelligence) center.
All LRRPs were Rangered on 1 February 1969, and these two units (companies C and D) respectively became Bravo and Alpha Company, 75th Infantry (Ranger). They were the only Ranger units to remain on active duty at the end of the Vietnam War and they continued in service until November 1974 when they were disbanded with most of their personnel forming the core of the new 1st and 2nd Ranger Battalions.
December 1965, the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, formed a LRRP platoon, and by April 1966, the 1st Infantry Division, 25th Infantry Division and each of the four Battalions of the 173rd Airborne Brigade formed LRRP units. By 1967 formal LRRP companies were organized, most having three platoons, each with five six-man teams equipped with VHF/FM AN/PRC-25 radios. LRRP training was notoriously rigorous and team leaders were often graduates of the U.S. Army's 5th Special Forces Recondo School in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
In February 1969, all US Army LRRP units were folded into the newly formed 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger), a predecessor of the 75th Ranger Regiment, bringing back operational Ranger units for the first time since the Korean War. The Army had disbanded Ranger units after Korea, but kept Ranger School, on the premise that spreading Ranger School graduates throughout the Army would improve overall performance.
The legacy of LRRP units also continues on in the U.S. Army's Long Range Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition squadrons.
