Electrical engineering
Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. This field first became an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electric power distribution and use. Subsequently, broadcasting and recording media made electronics part of daily life. The invention of the transistor, and later the integrated circuit, brought down the cost of electronics to the point they can be used in almost any household object.
Electrical engineering has now subdivided into a wide range of subfields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, radio-frequency engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, and microelectronics. The subject of electronic engineering is often treated as its own subfield but it intersects with all the other subfields, including the power electronics of power engineering.

Rio Tinto (Gondomar)
Rio Tinto (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈʁiu ˈtĩtu]) is a Portuguese city and parish, located in Gondomar Municipality, in northern Portugal. The population in 2011 was 50,713, in an area of 9.38 km². Rio Tinto, which in Portuguese means red river, was elevated to city status in 1995, and the city of Rio Tinto includes two parishes (freguesias): Baguim do Monte and Rio Tinto, with a total of 65,000 inhabitants, being the most populous city in Gondomar municipality, and third largest in the Greater Porto agglomeration.
Rio Tinto lies just outside the city of Porto.

Rio Tinto (river)
The Río Tinto (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈri.o ˈtinto], red river) is a river in southwestern Spain that originates in the Sierra Morena mountains of Andalusia. It flows generally south-southwest, reaching the Gulf of Cádiz at Huelva.
Since ancient times, a site along the river has been mined for copper, silver, gold, and other minerals. In approximately 3,000 BC, Iberians and Tartessians began mining the site, followed by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors. After a period of abandonment, the mines were rediscovered in 1556 and the Spanish government began operating them once again in 1724. As a possible result of the mining, Río Tinto is notable for being very acidic (pH 2) and its deep reddish hue is due to iron dissolved in the water. Acid mine drainage from the mines leads to severe environmental problems due to the heavy metal concentrations in the river. In 1873, the multinational Rio Tinto Company was formed to operate the mines; by the end of the 20th century it had become one of the world's largest mining companies, although it no longer controls the Rio Tinto mines; these are now owned by EMED Mining plc.

Tinto
Tinto is a hill in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Tinto is an outlying hill of the Southern Uplands, comprising little more than this one top, which stands on the west bank of the River Clyde, some 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) west of Biggar. The peak is also called "Tinto Tap", with the name Tinto possibly deriving from the Scottish Gaelic word teinnteach, meaning "fiery", which may refer to its ancient past as a look out beacon.
An old Scots children's rhyme tells of the "kist in the mist" at "Tintock tap", kist being the Scots word for "chest".
It is accessible for walking (moderate to difficult) and is one of the premier locations for hanggliding and paragliding. Tinto is located near the small villages of Thankerton and Wiston.
Tinto is also the venue for one of the most popular hill running races in Scotland which is held annually in November.

Alicante Bouschet
Alicante Bouschet or Alicante Henri Bouschet is a wine grape variety that has been widely cultivated since 1866. It is a cross of Petit Bouschet (itself a cross of the very old variety Teinturier du Cher and Aramon) and Grenache. Alicante is a teinturier, a grape with red flesh. It is one of the few teinturier grapes that belong to the Vitis vinifera species. Its deep color makes it useful for blending with light red wine. It was planted heavily during Prohibition in California for export to the East Coast. Its thick skin made it resistant to rot during the transportation process. The intense red color was also helpful for stretching the wine during prohibition, as it could be diluted without detracting from the appearance. At the turn of the 21st century, Alicante Bouschet was the 12th most planted red wine grape in France with sizable plantings in the Languedoc, Provence and Cognac regions.
History and breeding
The grape was first cultivated in France in 1866 by Henri Bouschet as a cross of Petit Bouschet and Grenache. The Petit Bouschet grape was created by his father Louis Bouschet. The result was to produce a grape with deep color grape of higher quality than the Teinturier du Cher. Several varieties of Alicante Bouschet were produced of varying quality. The grape's high yields and easy maintenance encouraged its popularity among French wine growers, especially in the years following the Phylloxera epidemic. By the end of the 19th century there were Alicante Bouschet plantings in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire Valley and Alentejo, Portugal

Sky News Business Editor Edward Boyd has travelled to Rio Tinto’s Gudai-Darri mine in Western Australia to see the mining corporation's newest and most technologically advanced mine. This is the first large-scale media trip Rio Tinto has hosted since the Juukan Gorge scandal – which saw 46,000-year-old aboriginal shelters blown up by the company. The $3.1 billion Gudai-Darri mine began its production in 2021 and reached its capacity of 43 million tonnes in less than four months. Rio Tinto plans to invest a further $130 million – expanding the mine's output to 50 million tonnes. Rio Tinto receives approval to develop $17.2 billion iron ore project
Mining giant Rio Tinto says it has received approval from Guinean and Chinese authorities to develop the $17.2 billion Simandou iron ore project in West Africa. “This Simandou iron ore project in West Africa has been basically a project of Rio Tinto’s for a couple decades now,” said Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd. “They’ve had serious issues with government problems … they’ve now got full approval to get this mine up and running.”

Rio Tinto Chief Executive Jakob Stausholm says the company has major “organic growth” in copper and lithium. Global mining group Rio Tinto is eyeing an expansion to develop more copper and lithium assets. “The major growth, organic growth that Rio has is in copper and is in lithium,” Mr Stausholm told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood. “Right now, we are ramping up the world’s fourth largest copper mine in Mongolia. “And we will be producing fresh lithium from our newly developed mine in Argentina. “So, we already have organic growth, but yes, if the opportunity is there we will look at gaining further assets.”

Sky News Business Editor Edward Boyd has travelled to Rio Tinto’s Gudai-Darri mine in Western Australia to see the mining corporation's newest and most technologically advanced mine.
This is the first large-scale media trip Rio Tinto has hosted since the Juukan Gorge scandal – which saw 46,000-year-old aboriginal shelters blown up by the company.
The $3.1 billion Gudai-Darri mine began its production in 2021 and reached its capacity of 43 million tonnes in less than four months.
Rio Tinto plans to invest a further $130 million – expanding the mine's output to 50 million tonnes.
Gudai-Darri uses autonomous trucks, drills, water carts and trains – as well as remote control robots that inspect conveyor belts for bearing failures and damage.
The driverless trucks only stop to be refuelled or serviced.

Global mining group Rio Tinto is eyeing an expansion to develop more copper and lithium assets.
“The major growth, organic growth that Rio has is in copper and is in lithium,” Mr Stausholm told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
“Right now, we are ramping up the world’s fourth largest copper mine in Mongolia.
“And we will be producing fresh lithium from our newly developed mine in Argentina.
“So, we already have organic growth, but yes, if the opportunity is there we will look at gaining further assets.”

Como chegar
Fica uma distância de aproximadamente 8 km do Porto, contudo como está grudada ao Porto algumas freguesias ficam ainda mais perto, como o Rio Tinto que fica a 10 minutos de comboio da Estação São Bento no centro do Porto.
Então se você morar no Rio tinto pode usar o Comboio como meio de transporte, mas isso não vale para todos as freguesias, que precisarão da utilização de autocarro ou carro.
Gondomar tem algumas estações de metro: Levada, Rio Tinto, Campaínha, Baguim, Carreira, Venda Nova e Fânzeres. Todas elas pertencentes à linha F e estabelecem ligação com o Porto e demais concelhos servidos por esta infraestrutura.
Saindo de carro da Avenida dos Aliados no Porto até a Câmara Municipal de Gondomar leva-se 21 minutos, 8 quilômetros.
De autocarro o mesmo trajeto pode levar 45 minutos utilizando o autocarro 800.
Como é morar
Morar em Gondomar significa ter uma vida mais tranquila que nas grandes cidades como Lisboa e Porto. Mas de modo geral, o concelho é recomendado para quem precisa estar próximo ao Porto e queira ter um custo de vida um pouco mais baixo, principalmente em relação a habitação, arrendamento ou aquisição de imóvel.

O concelho integra 7 freguesias, a maior é o Rio Tinto com 50713 habitantes.
Localização
Localiza-se a Leste do Porto tendo como limites também os concelhos de Maia e Valongo ao norte, Paredes a Leste, Vila Nova de Gaia a Oeste e ainda ao sul com concelhos de Aveiro, Santa Maria da Feira e Castelo de Paiva.
Como chegar
Fica uma distância de aproximadamente 8 km do Porto, contudo como está grudada ao Porto algumas freguesias ficam ainda mais perto, como o Rio Tinto que fica a 10 minutos de comboio da Estação São Bento no centro do Porto.
Então se você morar no Rio tinto pode usar o Comboio como meio de transporte, mas isso não vale para todos as freguesias, que precisarão da utilização de autocarro ou carro.
Gondomar tem algumas estações de metro: Levada, Rio Tinto, Campaínha, Baguim, Carreira, Venda Nova e Fânzeres. Todas elas pertencentes à linha F e estabelecem ligação com o Porto e demais concelhos servidos por esta infraestrutura.
Saindo de carro da Avenida dos Aliados no Porto até a Câmara Municipal de Gondomar leva-se 21 minutos, 8 quilômetros.
De autocarro o mesmo trajeto pode levar 45 minutos utilizando o autocarro 800.
Como é morar
Morar em Gondomar significa ter uma vida mais tranquila que nas grandes cidades como Lisboa e Porto. Mas de modo geral, o concelho é recomendado para quem precisa estar próximo ao Porto e queira ter um custo de vida um pouco mais baixo, principalmente em relação a habitação, arrendamento ou aquisição de imóvel.
Clima
O verão é morno, seco e de céu quase sem nuvens; o inverno é fresco, com precipitação e de céu parcialmente encoberto.
Ao longo do ano, em geral a temperatura varia de 6 °C a 25 °C e raramente é inferior a 1 °C ou superior a 31 °C.
De forma geral, as temperaturas são relativamente boas no inverno, se comparadas às de outros países europeus.

De uma forma geral, as áreas de Portugal com mais oportunidade são: a Zona metropolitana de Lisboa e do Porto, a cidade possui industrias de mobiliário, vestuário, têxteis, de metalurgia entre outros, mas pela proximidade de outros concelhos faz com que as possibilidade de trabalho sejam amplas.

Gondomar, com 26 unidades de saúde, mas nenhuma corresponde a um hospital.
O hospital público de referência do concelho é o Hospital São António, pertencente ao Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto.
Rede Escolar
O município possui 9 agrupamentos escolas com dezenas de escolas públicas, divididas entre jardins de infância e ensinos primário, básico e secundário.

Electrical engineering
Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. This field first became an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electric power distribution and use. Subsequently, broadcasting and recording media made electronics part of daily life. The invention of the transistor, and later the integrated circuit, brought down the cost of electronics to the point they can be used in almost any household object.
Electrical engineering has now subdivided into a wide range of subfields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, radio-frequency engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, and microelectronics. The subject of electronic engineering is often treated as its own subfield but it intersects with all the other subfields, including the power electronics of power engineering.

Copper mines, like this one in Utah, are on the frontline of America’s transition to clean energy. This site, owned and operated by mining giant Rio Tinto, produces roughly 200,000 metric tons of copper annually — with room to grow. Global demand for copper, a major component of EVs, is expected to almost double from 25 million metric tons to nearly 49 million metric tons by 2035. But miners face a multitude of issues as they ramp up production, not least of which includes mitigating environmental damage, addressing the concerns of the local stakeholders, and operating in remote regions of the world.
Based in the UK, Rio Tinto is one of the world’s largest mining companies with projects in 35 countries. In addition to its 17 iron ore mines in Western Australia that produce material used in steel, its products include aluminum, diamonds, and boron, a component in fertilizer and smartphones. Historically miners have been known for their environmental impact but today are increasingly recognized as crucial players in the transition to green energy. So what is Rio Tinto doing to ramp up production of its critical minerals business and how will China’s economic slowdown impact its iron ore sector? CNBC got a behind the scenes look at Rio Tinto’s Utah operation to find out.

Rio Tinto Chief Executive Jakob Stausholm is remaining tight-lipped on what the BHP takeover bid of Anglo American could mean for the mining giant. The boss of the world's largest iron ore producer says any merger between two major miners would change the industry. He would not comment whether Rio would join the race in securing Anglo American assets, but however stated that they are focused on doubling copper production in the next 10 years as well as growing their iron ore business. The Rio boss says that part of the business will remain the golden goose for decades to come as the world population grows and developing nations build infrastructure. Sky News Business Editor Edward Boyd has travelled to Rio Tinto’s Gudai-Darri mine in Western Australia to see the mining corporation's newest and most technologically advanced mine.
This is the first large-scale media trip Rio Tinto has hosted since the Juukan Gorge scandal – which saw 46,000-year-old aboriginal shelters blown up by the company.
The $3.1 billion Gudai-Darri mine began its production in 2021 and reached its capacity of 43 million tonnes in less than four months.
Rio Tinto plans to invest a further $130 million – expanding the mine's output to 50 million tonnes.
Gudai-Darri uses autonomous trucks, drills, water carts and trains – as well as remote control robots that inspect conveyor belts for bearing failures and damage.
The driverless trucks only stop to be refuelled or serviced.

Global mining group Rio Tinto is eyeing an expansion to develop more copper and lithium assets.
“The major growth, organic growth that Rio has is in copper and is in lithium,” Mr Stausholm told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

Como chegar
Fica uma distância de aproximadamente 8 km do Porto, contudo como está grudada ao Porto algumas freguesias ficam ainda mais perto, como o Rio Tinto que fica a 10 minutos de comboio da Estação São Bento no centro do Porto.
Então se você morar no Rio tinto pode usar o Comboio como meio de transporte, mas isso não vale para todos as freguesias, que precisarão da utilização de autocarro ou carro.
Gondomar tem algumas estações de metro: Levada, Rio Tinto, Campaínha, Baguim, Carreira, Venda Nova e Fânzeres. Todas elas pertencentes à linha F e estabelecem ligação com o Porto e demais concelhos servidos por esta infraestrutura.
Saindo de carro da Avenida dos Aliados no Porto até a Câmara Municipal de Gondomar leva-se 21 minutos, 8 quilômetros.
De autocarro o mesmo trajeto pode levar 45 minutos utilizando o autocarro 800.
Como é morar
Morar em Gondomar significa ter uma vida mais tranquila que nas grandes cidades como Lisboa e Porto. Mas de modo geral, o concelho é recomendado para quem precisa estar próximo ao Porto e queira ter um custo de vida um pouco mais baixo, principalmente em relação a habitação, arrendamento ou aquisição de imóvel.

O verão é morno, seco e de céu quase sem nuvens; o inverno é fresco, com precipitação e de céu parcialmente encoberto.
Ao longo do ano, em geral a temperatura varia de 6 °C a 25 °C e raramente é inferior a 1 °C ou superior a 31 °C.
