Raj Chakraborty

Raj Chakraborty (Bengali: রাজ চক্রবর্তী born 1975) is an Indian film director and actor based in Tollywood. A person from middle-class family background, he was born in Halisahar, West Bengal. He graduated from Rishi Bankim Chandra Colleges, Naihati. He is one of the most successful filmmakers in Tollywood. He is also currently the most profitable director in Tollywood. Before directing his debut film, he was busy in Bengali TV, Zee Bangla's famous laughter show Mirakkel and the dance program Dance Bangla Dance judged by Mithun Chakraborty and hosted by Tathoi and Aritra. Mirakkel was hosted by Mir. Now he is busy in directing Star Jalsha's laughter program I Laugh You, assisting mega serial-maker Arindam Dey. He went solo with the telefilm Noder Chaand after assisting Dey for a couple of years. He has made 18 telefilms since. Raj's biggest small screen venture was with the hit comedy show Mirakkel that airs on Zee Bangla.

Biography

Raj Chakraborty was born 21 February 1975 in Halisahar, a small town in West Bengal. He belonged to a lower-middle-class family of five members. He has two sisters who are married and settled. His father, Shree Krishnashankar Chakraborty, worked at Rishi Bankim Chandra Colleges. His mother Smt. Leela Chakraborty has been a homemaker and according to Raj, she is the one who has been his inspiration, his critic, his fear, his pride and the heart of the family.

Mimi Chakraborty

Mimi Chakraborty is a Bengali film and former television actress. She rose to fame by playing the role "Pupe", the female lead in mega serial Gaaner Oparey.

Early life

Mimi Chakraborty was born in Jalpaiguri, a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. She spent her childhood in Arunachal Pradesh in Deomali, a town in Tirap district, but later moved back to her ancestral home in Jalpaiguri City with her family. She was educated in Holy Child School, Jalpaiguri and later at St. James' School, Binnaguri, Jalpaiguri; then she came to Kolkata and completed her graduation in English from the Asutosh College

Career

Mimi Chakraborty was a model briefly before starting her acting career. She participated in Femina Miss India. Her acting debut was with Champion.

Her second project was a TV serial Gaaner Oparey, produced by Ideas Creations. It aired on Star Jalsha from 28 June 2010 to 16 April 2011. Ideas Creations, the production house of Prosenjit Chatterjee together with Star Jalsha launched the mega-serial "Gaaner Oparey" to pay tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on the 150th anniversary of his birth. The likes of Rituparno Ghosh (who was initial scriptwriter of Gaaner Oparey), Debojyoti Mishra (Music Director), and other noted personalities from the film industry were involved with the project.

Arijit Singh

Arijit Singh is an Indian playback singer and a music programmer. Born in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, his career began upon participating in the reality show Fame Gurukul (2005), in which he lost at the finals. After winning another reality show called 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil, Singh built a recording setup of his own, beginning his journey with music programming. Subsequently, he went to become as an assistant music programmer to Pritam Chakraborty, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar and Mithoon.

Singh rose to widespread prominence and became a household name with the release of "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2 (2013). He was given the Best Male Playback Singer award for the song, in 59th Filmfare Awards. In 2014, he collaborated with Jeet Gannguli—for whom he performed the rest of his tracks in Aashiqui 2 —for CityLights, where he rendered the romantic version of the song "Muskurane", which fetched him most nominations in the year. Gannguli composed Suno Na Sangemarmar and Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy's Sufi song, Mast Magan garnered him another two nominations in 60th Filmfare Awards.
