If you hear anyone talking about “41,” chances are they’re speaking about former President George H. W. Bush. The region has enjoyed several generations of Bushes at Walker’s Point, and folks are proud of their most famous summer neighbors. You’ll see photos of George and Barbara everywhere. You might even catch a glimpse of Kennebunkport’s first family in person, if you’re lucky.

The Convenience
You can get here from there. Less than two hours from Boston, five hours from New York or just under six from Quebec and Montreal, the Kennebunks and Arundel are a short enough drive away for a long weekend (or longer!). Coming from farther away? You can get here by train (the Amtrak Downeaster stops just a few miles down the road), plane (the Portland Jetport is 30 minutes away, Boston’s Logan Airport is 90 minutes away, as is Manchester Airport in N.H.) and, of course, automobile.
