3Steps (pronounced: θriː stɛps) is a German-based contemporary artist collective between the twins Kai Harald Krieger (born March 15, 1980) and Uwe Harald Krieger (born March 15, 1980) and Joachim Pitt (born December 8, 1980).
The works of 3Steps have developed from mural art, graffiti art and street art. The spray can is the central media of 3Steps. The collective paints huge images on facades and murals, as well as several kinds of paintable media in the studio. Bright colors and the reflection of a modern society express the intention of the three friends.
In November 2014 3Steps received the “Kultur- und Kreativpilot Deutschland” (Cultural and Creative pilot of Germany) award by the Federal Republic of Germany. 3Steps lives and works in the University town of Giessen, central Germany.
3Steps was founded in fall 1998. The style of the collective quickly developed from the classic “New York Style Writing” graffiti and high art graffiti to artistic short stories on large-scale murals. The work of 3Steps can be found around the entire globe, from Giessen and Wetzlar via Munich and Berlin to London, Milan, Venice, L.A. and New York.
Steps Ahead (originally known as Steps) is a jazz fusion group and the brainchild of vibraphonist Mike Mainieri. According to the liner notes of the group's 1983 debut album (for worldwide release), entitled Steps Ahead, "Steps began as a part-time venture in 1979 at Seventh Avenue South, a New York City nightclub." The group began releasing recordings in Japan as far back as 1980.
The first line-up of Steps in the period 1979-1981, as can be read on the live album Smokin' in the Pit, consisted of Michael Brecker (tenor sax), Steve Gadd (drums), Eddie Gómez (bass), Don Grolnick (piano), Mike Mainieri (vibraphone), and special guest Kazumi Watanabe (guitar). This double live album was recorded on 15 and 16 December 1979 at The Pit Inn Tokyo. A second studio recording was made on 17 December 1979, called Step by Step. Smokin' in the Pit was released in 1980 and awarded a gold record. The studio album Step by Step was released shortly after, followed in the summer of 1980 by another live recording called Paradox. These three albums (see Mike Mainieri's notes in the booklet of the 1999 cd release of Smokin' in the Pit) were the only albums released by the group under the name of Steps. In 1982 they learned that the name Steps had been trademarked by a band in North Carolina, and therefore changed their name to Steps Ahead.
Peter-Paul Pigmans (January 31, 1961 – August 27, 2003) was a Dutch gabber music producer, best known for his production under the pseudonym 3 Steps Ahead.
Born in Berkel and based out of Rotterdam, Pigmans' music is widely considered one of the most innovative specimens of the gabber genre; while many gabber producers favor raw force and little virtuosity when creating a song, Pigmans' music always had a strong technical side, and his songs often featured atmospherical elements, an unusual thing in the genre at the time. He was also known for his extremely wild live shows.
Pigmans was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1999. On July 18, 2003 in Zaandam at the Hemkade stadium, fellow Dutch producers organized a fundraising event for him where the cream of the Dutch gabber scene performed (for free - all income was spent on his treatment in hope of curing him) and paid respect to him. A couple of weeks later, he died. Two months later the annual Thunderdome started with a one-minute silence in his memory.
The Three Steps are three prominent rocky steps on the northeast ridge of Mount Everest. They are located at altitudes of 8,564 metres (28,097 ft), 8,610 metres (28,250 ft), and 8,710 metres (28,580 ft). The Second Step is especially significant both historically and in mountaineering terms. Any climber who wants to climb on the normal route from the north of the summit must negotiate these three stages.
The First Step consists of large boulders that pose a serious obstacle, even for experienced climbers, because of their height above sea level. Many mountaineers have met their end on the First Step, among them "Green Boots", a body now identified as Tsewang Paljor wearing neon green climbing boots and a red coat and which serves as a somber landmark for climbers to gauge their distance to the top, one of the victims of the climb with fellow mountaineers Dorje Morup, David Sharp and Francys Arsentiev.
The Second Step is the best known of the rocky steps. The steep section, at an altitude of 8,610 m, has a climbing height of forty metres, of which the last five are almost vertical. The step was climbed for the first time in 1960 by Wang Fu-chou, Konbu, and Chu Ying-hua. The climbing difficulty of this spot was reduced in 1975 when a Chinese team affixed a ladder to the step that has been used since then by almost all climbers.

We stood before our friends and pledged eternal love
To have and to hold
We both meant every word and spoke of one above
Love could not grow cold
Then I found myself so many nights
With time my only friend
And I only saw it in your eyes
Too late to make amends
darling
Time can be a healer or time can divide
I never meant for anyone to you from my side
But I'm just a man (just a man)
And it comes down to this
I was just to weak to resist
If only I had known I'd caused you so much pain
I would not have strayed
And tho' I promise you I'll never fall again baby
I must lie in this bed I've made
And tho' I'm hurtin' you I swear it was
The last thing on my mind
And I found myself on my own
One too many times
darling
Time can be a healer or time can divide
I never meant for anyone to take you from my side
But I'm just a man (just a man)
And it comes down to this
