Dreams Come True (Glee)

"Dreams Come True" is the series finale of the American musical television series Glee. It is also the 13th and final episode of the show's sixth season and the 121st episode overall. Written by the show's co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan and directed by Bradley Buecker, it aired on Fox in the United States on March 20, 2015, along with the previous episode, "2009", as a special two-hour finale.

The episode features the aftermath of New Directions' victory at the 2015 Nationals show choir competition, as changes are in store for both the school itself as well as Will Schuester. It then features a flashforward to the year 2020 that explores the fates of the characters. The episode featured special guest star Jonathan Groff as Jesse St. James and special appearances by Geraldo Rivera and Andrew Rannells as themselves.

Plot

After pausing for a moment to think back on his own show choir past, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) joins his New Directions members on stage as they are now in the finals for the show choir national championship. New Directions wins, and afterwards, Superintendent Bob Harris (Christopher Cousins) tells Will that McKinley High is being converted into a performing arts school, and that Will is to become its principal. Three months later, Will is nervous for his first day, but his wife Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) consoles him. Will welcomes back New Directions members from both past and present who have reunited for this day and announces that New Directions will no longer be the only glee club choir at McKinley High, as he is re-creating the TroubleTones and creating both a new all-boys group and a junior varsity glee club, but Will is not to be the coach of any group including New Directions. He then bids them farewell with a song.

Dreams Come True (American non-profit)

Dreams Come True (DCT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Jacksonville, Florida, begun by Tom McGehee and his wife Delia, that grants the dreams (within certain parameters) of children with life-limiting illnesses. In 2009, the organization celebrated a quarter century of service and over 2,500 dreams fulfilled.

History

In 1984, McGehee, co-founder of Mac Papers, learned about George Lee, a 17-year-old with cystic fibrosis. Lee's dream was to play with golfer Fred Couples, and the McGehees fulfilled George’s dream. Lee died less than a year later, but was buried with a driver given to him by Couples. McGehee presented the idea of a charitable group that fulfills the wishes of children with terminal conditions to local business leaders, including Hugh Jones, Chairman of Barnett Bank; Jay Stein and Jack Williams of Stein Mart; and Dr. Roy Baker, Chairman of University Medical Center. They supported the concept, and Dreams Come True was created. At the time, McGehee owned television station channel 47, and the charity began work in an empty office there.

Dreams Come True (ドリームズ・カム・トゥルー, Dorīmuzu Kamu Turū) is a Japanese pop band formed in 1988, originally consisting of Miwa Yoshida (lead vocals), Masato Nakamura (bass), and Takahiro Nishikawa (keyboards). The band has sold more than 50 million records worldwide.

History

Dreams Come True was started by Bassist Masato Nakamura, and is fronted by Miwa Yoshida, who is the band's main singer-songwriter. They were originally a three-piece band with Takahiro Nishikawa on keyboards, until he departed in 2002. The band is commonly known as DCT (Dreams Come True) and sometimes referred to as "Dorikamu" (ドリカム) by their fans. Dreams Come True released their self-titled debut album in 1989, which sold more than one million copies. Their 1992 release, The Swinging Star, was the first Japanese album to sell over three million copies, and for several years held the title of the best-selling Japanese-language album of all time.

In 1993, they recorded "Winter Song" for the opening theme of the TriStar Pictures film Sleepless in Seattle and the following year recorded the song "Eternity" for the animated film The Swan Princess by New Line Cinema. In Japan, they recorded theme songs for programs produced by Tokyo Broadcasting System. The Walt Disney Company hired the band to create themes for their television shows, and attractions at the Tokyo Disney Resort. In 2001, the band performed "Crystal Vine," the theme song for the Japanese version of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Yoshida was hired to dub over Audrey Rocio Ramirez in the Japanese version.

Love Unlimited (Love Unlimited album)

From a Girl's Point of View We Give to You... Love Unlimited is the debut studio album of American soul vocal trio Love Unlimited, released in 1972 on Uni Records and MCA Records. Produced by soul recording artist Barry White, for whom the trio served as a backing group at the time, the album was arranged by White and conductor Gene Page. It was digitally remastered by recording engineer Bill Inglot and reissued on May 10, 1994 by Varèse Vintage.

Background

Love Unlimited was made up of Diane Taylor and sisters Glodean and Linda James. Glodean originally met recording artist and future husband Barry White through a mutual friend. She was a fan of Viola Wills' single "Lost Without the Love of My Guy", a song co-written and arranged by White. White rehearsed for almost a year with the trio, who had not done any professional singing before, and came up with their stage name, Love Unlimited. White wrote "Walkin' in the Rain With the One I Love" with lyrics that were inspired by conversations with Glodean; the two engage in "phoned"-in dialogue on the song. White's business partner Larry Nunes took the record to record executive and Uni Records-head Russ Regan.

True...

"True..." is the first single by Riyu Kosaka. It was released on October 17, 2001. It features her solo track True..., which debuted on Konami's DDRMAX Dance Dance Revolution 6thMix. It also features a cover of BeForU's Dive, entitled Dive to the Night.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Erhard Duff (born September 28, 1987) is an American actress and singer. Duff began her acting career at a young age, and quickly became labeled a teen idol as the starring titular character in the television series Lizzie McGuire (2001–04). The series proved to be a hit, leading to a film adaptation of the series to be released. Duff began working on numerous projects with the Disney channel, including the film Cadet Kelly (2002). She later began work on an album, releasing the Christmas themed Santa Claus Lane (2002) through Walt Disney Records. Upon signing with Hollywood Records, Duff began working on her second studio album, Metamorphosis (2003). True (EP)

True is the debut extended play (EP) by American recording artist Solange Knowles, first released on November 27, 2012 digitally through Terrible Records. Following the release of her second studio album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008), Knowles announced that she had parted ways with Interscope Geffen A&M after releasing just one album on the label, and further revealed that she had chosen to go an independent route, eventually signing with Terrible Records. In 2009 Knowles began the recording of a studio album, during which she suffered a "breakdown" due to the amount of time and emotion she was putting into the recording process

A neo soul album, True contains an eclectic sound that takes influence from PBR&B, new wave music, dance, 1980s pop, and electronica, whilst the extended play's production is characterized as containing '80s references, keyboards and African percussion. The recording process took three years and was handled by Knowles and producer Dev Hynes. Together the pair produced, wrote and composed all of the songs, a decision Knowles made due to their chemistry, friendship and work relationship.
